Evening Folks
I hope you are all well. Been a bit of a manic week at work but at least it is Friday and no work for a couple of days. I have been trying to get round as many of you as I can commenting but time on the computer has been limited. Hopefully will get a bit more time this weekend to browse around.
Tomorrow we are going to a baby naming ceremony. Some family friends of ours had a little baby girl last August and they have opted for this rather than a full christening. Never been to a naming ceremony before so will be quite interesting.
As it is a naming ceremony and quite a special occasion I didn't want to do them just a card. I wanted something that they could keep and that had the baby's name on it. Her name is JORJA. So I came up with this word book which I have seen before but never tried myself. Be warned, there are a few photos.
I used some large letter stencils that I had to cut out the letters in pink gingham. I then mounted the letters onto pieces of pink card. The pieces of card were then cut down so that they formed a little book. I printed off several photos of Jorja and used these and various embellishments that I had to decorate each little page of the book. All the embellishments were put on using foam dots to add some dimension. I attached all the pages together using various shades of pink ribbon.
Here are the other pages of the book.
I completed my project by making a box with an acetate top for it to go in. Didn't want to crush it by just stuffing it into an envelope.
Considering it is the first one I have made I am quite pleased with the result. In fact, my eldest daughter is going to a christening in a couple of weeks and wants me to make one for that. That one is for a little boy so will need a change of colour and embellishments.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Polka Doodles - Pretty In Pink
Paper Sundaes - Anything goes
Pile It On - Pop it up (all embellishments put on with foam dots)
Joanna Sheen - Someone special
Forever Friends - Think Pink (used die cut of teddy bear and giraffe)
Divas By Design - Anything but a card
Thanks for popping by and for your continued support. I notice that I am not too far off 100 followers. I feel a little blog candy coming up.
Take care
