Dream Valley Challenges

Hi Folks,
Today sees the start of a new fortnightly challenge over at Dream Valley Challenges.  The theme this month is a nice easy one for you - Valentine.
For this challenge our fabulous sponsor is Joanna Sheen who is generously giving a £10 voucher for the store.



Here is my inspiration for this challenge.  I decided to not do a card (after all, how many Valentines cards does a married woman really need lol).  Instead, I have made an exploding box which will be given to my hubby on Valentines Day.  He loves chocolate so I am going to fill it with little chocolate hearts.

Used lovely black and red combo for the overall colour scheme.  I used a sentiment stamp I had for the front panel of the box that simply says 'to you from me'.  Didn't want it to be too slushy lol.  The other panels were stamped using a freebie stamp from a magazine.  As it showed a box of chocolates I thought it fitted in quite nicely.

Used some vintage ribbon to make a big bow.  The flowers were all made by me using oddments of the papers used to decorate the inside of the box.  I sprayed them with spray and sparkle to make them shine and also added a die cut glitter leaf spray.

Didn't want to make it too fussy so just used various papers that were in the right colour scheme.  The bottom of the box had glitter card and another heart stamped with the 'to you from me' sentiment.  I also added some little white hearts on acetate that spring up when the box is opened.
