Thinking of You

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well and looking forward to your weekend.  I am off to Ally Pally with my Mum on Saturday so looking forward to that.  I then have Sunday and Monday off work so hoping to get some crafty time in.

Today I thought I would share a little Thinking of You card that I have done.

The background was created using water, inks and cling film.  Very effective and a different result every time.  The main image stamp is from Indigoblu.  A sentiment stamp and some faux stitching around the edge finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I really do appreciate all the kind comments and support that you give me.

Special First Birthday

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well.  Sorry I have not been around for the last few days.  With Easter and working I have not had much time.  I have managed to pop by and browse your lovely blog posts but no time for commenting I am afraid.  I am hoping to rectify that over the next few days.

Today I thought I would share a card that I was asked to make for a little girl's first birthday.

I kept the design quite simple using paper piecing to create the large number 1.  I personalised the name by using my clarity stamps.  Silver mirror card was used for the matting and I added some silver peel offs around the number one and some little gems to the stamped stars.

Thanks for popping by and would love the know what you think.  Many thanks for all the lovely comments and support that you give me.

Guest Designer at Crafty Friends

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all having a good Easter weekend.  This year sure is flying by and can't believe we will be into April soon.

I was delighted to be asked to be a guest designer over at Crafty Friends challenge blog.  I was on their design team for a while and they are a great bunch of people to work with.  Thank you for asking me to join you.

The challenge is Anything Goes and I used a gorgeous image from Julia Spiri to make this cute little wall hanging for any budding ballerinas out there.

Sorry for the quality of the photo.  Just couldn't seem to get the lighting right.  I coloured the image using promarkers and softened the edges by blending some distress ink.  I used some backing paper from my stash together with some lace and ribbon.  Some punched butterflies and a cute sentiment finished the wall hanging.

To see the rest of the gorgeous projects from the design team and to enter the challenge just pop over to Crafty Friends.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I really do appreciate all the lovely comments and support that you give me.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Special Birthday

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well and looking forward to Easter.  Apologies for my absence over the last few days but I have had a busy time.  It was my wonderful Mum's 70th birthday at the weekend.  I had family come to stay for the weekend and we went out for a celebratory meal on Saturday night.  A good time was had by all but no time for blogging.  Anyway, I have the next six days off work so hoping to get lots of crafty time in.

Today I thought I would share the card that I made for my Mum's special birthday.

I used mainly white for this card together with gold mirror card.  Several dies were used including a marianne die and a free champagne glass die that I got with a magazine.  I embossed the background with my swirly folder and added lots of flowers and bling.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I really do appreciate all the lovely comments and support that you give me.  Hoping to get round to visiting some of your lovely blogs this evening.

A Little Thank You

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well and have had a good week.  Sending hugs to anyone who needs one.  This has been a busy week for me.  Lots of work and a spot of decorating too.  I am afraid my blog has had to take a backseat.  My apologies if I have not been by to visit your blog but things should return to normal soon.

Today I thought I would share a little thank you card that I made.

This was a really quick and easy card to do.  The corner die and the Thank You die were both freebies in magazines.  I die cut them out of some card that I had coloured using the shaving foam technique.  The white background was embossed using my dotty embossing folder.  For embellishments I added a punched butterfly and some gems to the centre of the flowers.

Thanks for popping by.  I really do appreciate all the lovely comments and support that you give me.  I will try and get round to visiting some of your lovely blogs over the next few days.

Groovi

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well and had a good weekend.  I was working yesterday morning but when I got home my two girls were waiting for me with flowers and pressies for Mothers Day.  They even whisked me off to our local pub for a glass or two of wine.  Felt very spoilt and loved.

For my birthday at the end of February I received some money and decided to treat myself to the Groovi board parchment system and some plates from Clarity Stamps.  My Mum has been using it for some time and produces some lovely cards.  It arrived on Friday and I finally got the chance to have a play this afternoon after work.

Now it is not perfect but this is the result of my first attempt.

I used the music plates, a border plate and the nesting squares for the centre panel.  The sentiment was done using the alphabet on the plate mate and I coloured it from the back using my promarkers.  I attached the parchment to the backing card using some brads.  Some music based designer paper finished the card off nicely.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  The Groovi system is so easy to use and I can it becoming quite addictive.

Seeds Of Love

Hi Everyone
It has been a while since my last post but I was in Budapest last week for a few days.  We had a really great time.  Budapest is a lovely city and there was so much to see and do.  Will definitely have to return at some point.

With Mothers Day around the corner in the UK I thought I would share a card for that special lady.

I used a lovely CD from Kraftyhands called Seeds of Love which can be found here.  All of the backing papers and toppers are from the CD.  I added a heart doily, resin flower, feather and pins as embellishments.  I also went for an easel card for a change.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I do appreciate all the lovely comments and the support that you give me.

Hi Everyone

Today I thought I would share a card using products from Kraftyhands.

I used the Romantique CD and printed off the papers and elements that I needed.  I used some red card for the matting.  I love the images on this CD.  So vintage and perfect for those special occasions.  For embellishments I added a cream feather, paper rose and a gem heart.

Male Steampunk

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well.  I am on countdown now until my little break next week.  We are going to Budapest for 5 days.  If anyone has any hints on things to see and do when in Budapest just let me know.  We have never been there before so really looking forward to it.

Today I thought I would share a little male card I have made using a stamp set that has had its first outing.

The stamp set is from Prima and is called 'Craftsman'.  I did the background first by blending distress ink and then blending through a couple of stencils.  The cog man, hand, cogs and sentiment are all from the stamp set.  I didn't have any coloured card that I liked so I embossed some white card using some Stampendous Frantage aged spice embossing enamel.  It gave the coppery look that I wanted.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  The steampunk style is a style I struggle with but I am quite pleased with this one.

Anyone for Cake

Hi Everyone
Wow, I have managed to do a post for two days running.  I am sure this is only a temporary blip and things will be back to normal tomorrow lol.

Today I thought I would share another make using a stamp that I have had for months and not managed to get inked up until now.  It does feel good to have the time to use some old stash.

The stamp is from Lily of the Valley and is so cute.  I used my promarkers to colour the image before cutting out and matting onto a die cut from Spellbinders.  The backing paper is from Trimcraft and I also added a doily behind the image.  The sentiment is from Little Claire and I added some punched butterflies and little die cut flowers and pearls.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

You're My Cup Of Tea

Hi Everyone
Thank goodness it is Friday.  I am suffering with a cold at the moment so looking forward to my weekend off.  I then have another week at work before me and hubby go to Budapest for a few days.  So looking forward to a change of scenery.

Today I thought I would share a card using a stamp set from Little Claire.

I got the stamp set several months ago but had never used it.  With Valentines Day coming up I thought it would make a more manly valentine card.  I stamped the teapots image onto some white card and distressed with some distress ink before adding some stitching around the outside.  This was matted onto some brown card.  The background was done by stamping the sentiment randomly and then adding distress ink.  Some ribbon and a button heart along the bottom of the image finished the card.

Love, Romance, Always

Hi Everyone
Been a busy couple of days at work.  Only another three to go before my weekend off.  Really looking forward to getting some crafty time in.

Today I thought I would share a card that was made using the Romantique CD from Kraftyhands which can be found here.

All of the papers and the image were printed from the CD together with the little tag sentiments.  I added a heart doily from my stash.  The little flower was made using some net type ribbon that I have.  I added a little pearl brad to the centre of the flower and used some skeleton leaves.

Always and Forever

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.  I am working so not quite as enjoyable for me lol.

Today I thought I would share a card that I made quite a while ago using a topper from Kraftyhands which can be found here.  With Valentines Day just around the corner this card seemed quite appropriate.

The topper was die cut already.  I added a splash of colour to the hearts and mounted this onto a Marianne Design die cut that I have.  The papers were also from Kraftyhands.  I added some ribbon and lace to the bottom for a bit more of a romantic feel.  Some roses and red hearts finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

Something a Bit Different

Hi Everyone
Well, we are into February already.  The days and weeks are passing by so quickly at the moment.  I have had the last couple of days at home as I am working at the weekend.  I did manage to get in my crafty room for a few hours.

Todays card share is one I have done using a technique for the background that I have been wanting to try for months.

For the greeny/blue background I used shaving foam and inkadinks from Imagination Crafts.  I did several pieces of it and I love how each pressing into the foam produces a different look.  I used several dies when putting this card together.  Scalloped square from Spellbinders, Happy Birthday die - free with Simply Cards and Papercraft, Dali Art Ornate flower die - free with papercraft inspirations.  The Happy Birthday die was cut from another shaving foam background and matted onto some blue cardstock.  Some dazzlers and gems finished the card.

This is a bit different for me and I really enjoyed doing the background.  Can see me using this technique again.  Would love to know what you think.  I really do appreciate all your wonderful comments.

Bring on the Bling

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and have had a good weekend.  It has been my weekend off work so have spent a relaxing time recharging the batteries.

Over the christmas period I had a sort through my stamp collection.  Today's card uses a Woodware stamp that I have had for months but never used.

The stamp is called Bubble Bloom and comes with the sentiment that I used.  I stamped using Memento black ink and coloured the leaves using promarkers.  For the flowers I used a combination of card candi, dazzlers, gems and pears.  The butterflies are a punch that I have with some trailing pearls.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  A quick card to make but very effective I think.

Have A Glorious Day

Hi Everyone
It has been very cold and windy here today.  Hope we don't get any snow lol.

I was lucky enough to win the December Challenge over at Bunny Zoes.  Todays card features a Kaisercraft stamp set and some paper flowers that I bought.

For the background of the card I cut an aperture out of some patterned paper (using a heart die from XCut)and mounted this onto white and then purple card.  I stamped the sentiment and added some gems.  The butterflies are a stamp set from Kaisercraft called Texture Butterflies.  I stamped them onto stamping card, coloured with distress ink and then added glamour dust over the top.  Some ribbon and lace along the bottom and some paper blooms from Kaisercraft finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

Furry Friends

Hi Everyone
Can't believe we are now into the last week of January.  How time flies lol.  Hope you all have a good week.  I am at work all week but got next weekend off so looking forward to that.

I had a good clear out of my craft room at Christmas and came across so many stamps, dies etc that I have never used.  I therefore decided that if I get any new stash it is going to be used before I put it away.  With that in mind today's card share is made with a free embossing folder and stamp set that I got with the latest editiion of Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine.

I used just the stamps from the set for this card.  I made the background by stamping the little fish and paw stamps with various colours of distress ink.  Some faux stitching was also added around the edge.  I stamped the sentiment and the cats onto white card and cut out using a scalloped circle die from Tonic.  The backing card is kraft card that has been darkened with a bit of distress ink.  Some ribbon across the bottom finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think. I do appreciate all the lovely comments and the support that you give me.

On Your Christening Day

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well.  The days are just flashing by at the moment.  Before we know it we will be into February.

Today I thought I would share a christening card that I did quite a long while ago for a friend of mine.  She wanted something quite simple and this is what I came up with.

I used a large alphabet stamp that I have to stamp and emboss the letters onto patterned paper.  The letters were then cut out and mounted onto the centre of some white card.  I also stamped and embossed some little stars.  The sentiments were done on the computer and I used my wavy edge cutter for the white card.  Lots of little blue gems and pearls finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I do appreciate all the lovely comments that you leave me.

Fairy Sparkle

Hi Everyone
It's very cold here at the moment so I am glad that I am snuggled up in the warm.  As I am working at the weekend I have tomorrow and Thursday off.  I am planning on doing some tidying up in my craft room and getting some crafting done.  Just haven't had a lot of time to spend crafting since the start of the year.

Today I would like to share a card made using some stamps that I got free many weeks ago in a magazine.  I have so many stamps that I haven't used yet so it was nice to finally make something with this one.

I started out by using distress ink through an Inkables stencil from Bee Crafty.  I used various shades of purple.  The fairy and fairy dust images were stamped with versamark and embossed with some Black Super Sparkle embossing powder from Personal Impressions (although the sparkle doesn't really show up that much on this photo).  The plants and sentiment were stamped with black memento ink.  Once all the stamping was complete I lightly inked around the edge with some purple distress ink and matted onto some purple card.  A bit of ribbon and a dazzler completed the card.

As you can see I decided to do another but in a different colourway.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I do appreciate all the lovely comments that you leave me.

Happy Anniversary

Hi Everyone
Hope you have all had a good weekend.  We went out for a few drinks to our local pub last night with some friends.  Had a really good night but my head was a bit sore this morning lol.  Was planning a quiet day today but went into work this afternoon for a few hours as they were shortstaffed due to sickness.  Planning a relatively early night tonight as I really need to catch up on my sleep lol.

Today I would like to share a card made using a Kraftyhands CD called Seeds of Love which can be found here.

All the backing papers, the topper and sentiment were printed from the CD.  I used red card for the matting layers.  I edged the front of the card using one of my Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page punches.  The birdcage is a die from Marianne Design.  I added some red ribbon to the bottom and a few hearts and paper roses.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I really do appreciate all the lovely comments you leave me and your continued support.
