Imagination In Bloom

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying the start of your weekend.  It was my big birthday yesterday and I had a lovely day.  I know I am being taken out tonight but no idea where I am going so that will be a nice surprise. 

But before then a new challenge is starting today over at  the Imagination Crafts challenge blog.  Our theme for the month of March is:
Imagination In Bloom
You can create any project you like as long as it fits the challenge theme.  So let your creativity go wild.  If you do use any Imagination Crafts product in your creation you will go in the draw to win a £40 gift voucher for Imagination Crafts.  Any entry is eligible to be picked in the Top 3.

Here is my inspiration project using a gorgeous stamp set, Clematis,  from Imagination Crafts.


IC products used

I stamped and embossed the main image onto white card and then watercoloured using mica powders.  I stamped a second image of the largest flower to add some dimension.  The background of the card was stamped using one of the smaller stamps in the set onto pink card using versamark.  I then went over with mica powders.  The corners were punched out and then it was matted onto some darker pink card.  The butterflies are also from the stamp set and were coloured using the mica powders over versamark.  You can't really see it here but the mica leaves a lovely shimmer to the card and I also added some stickles around the sentiment for added sparkle.

    I love the dimension of the flower and the butterflies. I've never used mica powder before - you've piqued my curiosity and I want to learn more about it now :)
