Cracker Boxes

Hi Folks
Hope you have all had a good christmas.  We have had a very busy time.  There were 10 of us for the day on Christmas Day and then on Boxing Day my Sister, Brother-in-law and two Nephews came to stay for a couple of days.  We have had a lovely time with family and been totally spoilt with presents.  But back to reality tomorrow as work beckons.   Still, I am only in on Monday and Tuesday and then have Wednesday and Thursday off so can't complain.

Today I thought I would share the cracker boxes I made everyone for the table on Christmas Day.  Since my two girls have grown up I do find shop bought crackers a bit of a waste of money.  So this year I made everyone their own little cracker box and put a personalised present in them for everyone.  They looked lovely on the table and everyone really enjoyed their little gift.  I even bought some little party hats and printed out some cracker jokes.

I used my hougie board for all the scoring once I had worked out the measurements.  Some christmassy papers from my stash decorated the outside.  I stamped the sentiment and added some faux stitching before mounting onto a die cut circle.  Some pearls around the top, a name tag and ribbon for the bow finished the boxes.
Here is another view:

I liked these so much that I made another 14 and put sweets in them for all of my work colleagues.  It was my way of saying thank you for making me feel so welcome in my new job.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

MDF Decorated Tissue Box

Hi Folks
Not long now till the big day.  Just a few last minute bits of food to get on Wednesday and I am all done.  Feeling quite organised for a change lol. I am looking forward to a few days off work and spending quality time with my family.  Might even be able to sneak in a bit of crafty time too.

Today I thought I would share a project I have recently completed for my newly decorated lounge.  I bought an MDF tissue box a few months ago and finally got around to decorating it.

I started by painting the edges of the tissue box with black MDF paint.  I then used papers from Papermania to decorate the sides and the top.  Around the aperture at the top I added a pearl string that was in my stash.  I added some thin black lace around the sides of the box and finished off with some flowers and metal corners.

Here is another view.

I am really pleased with the way this turned out and really enjoyed doing it.  Will certainly be looking to try more things like this in the future.

Fussy and Fancy with Winter Wonderland

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  So glad it is Friday today.  I have been struggling with a cold for the last couple of days so will be glad to see the weekend.  Don't plan on doing too much apart from the food and drink shopping for Christmas.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
Fussy and Fancy
This is our last challenge for 2014 and will last for two weeks.  It is also the start of a couple of months where you don't have to stick to making a christmas based project if you don't want to.

Here is my project which happens to be a birthday card that my daughter asked me to make for a friend of hers.

Lots of layers on this one.  Plain pink card with some glitter card corners.  I embossed a panel of white card and added some stickles around the outside.  For the centre panel I stamped a flourish image all over before stamping with the appy irthday.  I cut out a large H and B using glitter card to finish off the sentiment.  Some cute flowers and punched butterflies finished the card.

With this being our last challenge of the year we have four fab sponsors joining us.

£10 voucher from The Hobby House

£10 voucher from Crafters Companion

Choice of 3 digis from Crafty Sentiments

£10 voucher from Wild Orchid Crafts

Thanks for popping by and hope you will join in with our challenge.  Just pop over to Winter Wonderland for full challenge details.

Anything Goes with Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  I have been feeling a bit under the weather the last couple of days and feeling a bit sorry for myself.  Still, better to get it out of the way now and enjoy christmas and the new year. I know a few people who are suffering at the moment.  Sending hugs to anyone who needs one.

Today sees the start of the last challenge for 2014 over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  A nice easy theme for the end of the year too.
Anything Goes
Our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps with a prize of 7 digi images to the winner.

Here is my inspiration project using a lovely corner digi from Bugaboo Stamps.

I printed the digi on the corner of the card and coloured using promarkers.  I did add some glamourdust to the centre of the flower.  The sentiment is from Little Claires and I felt that it suited the corner image beautifully.  The gems and punched butterflies finished off the card.  I did add a bit of distress ink around the edge of the card and some faux stitching.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for full challenge details.

Crafting Musketeers Bling It Up

Hi Folks
Well not long to the big day now.  Just got food and drink shopping to do at the weekend and I am all sorted.  Seems that going back to work has made me get super organised lol.  May even be able to spend a bit of time in my crafty room at the weekend just messing around with stuff.

Anyway, I am here today to share some mid month inspiration for our current challenge over at Crafting Musketeers.  Our theme for this month is:
Use Bling
Quite an easy one for many of us I think.  Our fab sponsor is Jackie Western at Party Nights Creations.  There is a lovely prize on offer for the lucky winner.  Just pop over to Crafting Musketeers and check it out.

Here is my inspiration project using lots of glittery sparkle medium and stencil from Imagination Crafts.

I used the gold sparkle medium through the stencil onto patterned card.  To add some dimension I also glittered through the stencil with red and cut out the stars.  I offset them when I stuck them on.  Some ribbon and gems finished the card.  Quite simple but lots of sparkle and bling.

Thanks for popping by and would love to see you join in with the challenge over at Crafting Musketeers.

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are all managing to stay warm.  Hard to believe that in two weeks time it will be Christmas Eve.  The last few weeks have just flown by.  I had another visit to the hospital today for a scan on my legs.  Then it will be back to the consultant in January to find out what the problem with my walking is and what can be done.  Hopefully in a few months things will be better.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Anything Goes But No Christmas

We have two sponsors joining us for this challenge:
Robyns Fetish - prize of 3 digi images of the winners choice
Dianes Daydream Designs - prize of a $15 voucher to the store

Here is my inspiration project using a lovely digi image from Robyns Fetish.

I coloured the image using promarkers, cut it out and mounted onto silver mirror card.  The background was created by inking through a stencil with distress ink.  I then went around the edges of the design using silver stickles.  Some ribbon, skeleton leaves, gems and a dazzler completed the card.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the lovely inspiration projects from my talented teamies.

Hi Folks
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  I was working yesterday so a short weekend for me but going to make the most of my day off today.  I have finally finished all my christmas cards apart from a couple of special ones.  Just got to write them all now, not a task I look forward to.

Christmas But No Squares Allowed
So bring out all those shaped cards and creations.  Let your imagination go wild.

Here is my inspiration project using toppers and papers from the Holly and Snowflake collection available from Kraftyhands.

I went for a circular easel card.  I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut out the card base using kraft card.  I mounted the topper onto some red card and then kraft card.  I cut out the stars and added some glitter to them for added sparkle.  The ribbon was from my stash and has a bit of sparkle to it.

North or South Pole with Winter Wonderland

Hi Folks
We are really on the countdown to Christmas now.  I put my tree up last night when I got in from work.  Was going to wait till the weekend but it's another job ticked off the list.  I am working again this Saturday so the weekend is already reduced to one day only lol.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
North or South Pole
We want to see your creations featuring penguins or polar bears.

Here is my inspiration project for you.

I used a cute stamp from Woodware which I have had for a couple of years.  I went for a clean and simple look with no embellishments.  I coloured the image with promarkers and added some faux stitching, liquid pearls and stickles.  The image was then matted onto black and then glitter card.  Added a stamped sentiment to the bottom of the card as the finishing touch.

Our sponsor this week at Winter Wonderland is:

with a surprise package for our lucky winner.

Let's Get Sentimental with Winter Wonderland

Hi Folks
Well, it's finally Friday but not much of a weekend for me as I am working tomorrow.  Hopefully, we won't be too busy at work.  I plan on spending some crafty time on Sunday.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
Let's Get Sentimental
There has to be a sentiment on your project but it doesn't have to be the main focus (unless you want it to be, of course).

Here is my inspiration project using an image from Delicious Doodles, one of our sponsors.

This is such a lovely image and I just added some stickles for added sparkle.  You can't really see it too well on the photo but it does sparkle in real life.  I used some black card and silver mirror card for the matting.  The background is embossed with my spotty embossing folder.  The sentiment is from an Imagination Crafts stencil.  I used versamark through the stencil and then embossed with white embossing powder.  A couple of poinsettias finished the card.

For the Winter Wonderland challenge we have 3 great sponsors:

Delicious Doodles - prize of 4 digi images of the winners choice

Digital Delights - prize of a $5 voucher

Clickit4crafts - prize of an amazing $35 worth of products of the winners choice

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Winter Wonderland for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the super inspiration from my talented teamies.

Anything But A Card with The Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
Well, I managed to get all my decorating done at the weekend.  Just got a bit of woodwork to paint but that can be done in the evenings.  I am really happy with the way my lounge looks.  Hopefully, my new sofas will be arriving in a couple of weeks as the old ones do look a bit out of place at the moment lol.

I am here today to share some inspiration for our current monthly challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.  Our theme for this month is:
Not a Card
So you can enter with anything you like as long as it is not a card.  It could be a tag, box, bag or something completely different.

We have two great sponsors joining us this month:
Delicious Doodles - a prize of 4 digi images of the winners choice
Artbymiran - a prize of 3 digi images of the winners choice

Here is my inspiration project using a lovely image from Delicious Doodles 'Jolly Holly Postbox'.

As you can see I decided to make a milk carton box for christmas.  I used a basic template that I have for the box but adjusted the sizing to take account of the image size.  I coloured the image using promarkers and added some red stickles for the berries.  After using some distress ink around the edges I matted onto red card.  For the remaining panels on the milk carton I used some paper from Papermania.  This again was distressed with red ink around the edges and matted onto red card.  A little bow was the finishing touch.  To fasten the box I used a couple of mini pegs.  I really didn't feel that the box needed anything else.

Here is another view:

So get those creative juices flowing and show us what you can do.

Our sponsor for this month is the fabulous Delicious Doodles with a prize of some digi images for the winner.

Here is my inspiration project using an image from our sponsor.

As you can see I went and made a christmas cracker.  This one is a bit different as it is a triangular cracker.  I used my hougie board to score and make the cracker.  I then simply decorated with some glitter strips, the image matted onto black cardstock, some poinsettias and ribbon.  These would make a lovely addition to any christmas table.

Anything Goes with Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.  I am in the middle of doing some decorating at the moment so not much time for crafting.  Should be done by Monday and then we just have to wait for the new sofas to arrive.

Today I would like to share some mid month inspiration for our current challenge over at Imagination Crafts challenges.  This is my last post as part of the design team for Imagination Crafts.  I made the decision to step down from the team as I am struggling to find the time to do a lot of crafting at the moment.  I also have my daughters wedding next year which is going to take up a lot of my crafting hours.  I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team.  Thanks to Linda and also to Sue and Harvey at Imagination Crafts for giving me the opportunity to be on the team.

Anyway, here is my inspiration project for our current Anything Goes challenge.

I used a lovely panel stencil called christmas holly and stencilled through using sparkle medium.  The patterned card is also from Imagination Crafts.  Whilst the sparkle medium was drying I used a christmas script stamp to stamp onto some white card to act as a background for the panel stencil.  I added some red velvet ribbon and poinsettias to one side of the white card before mounting onto red card.  Some liquid pearls were the finishing touch.

Thanks for popping by and hope you have enjoyed the Imagination Crafts projects that I have shown you over the past few months.  The current challenge is Anything Goes.  Don't forget that if you use any Imagination Crafts products you could win a £40 gift voucher.  Just pop over to the Imagination Crafts challenge blog for full details.

Emporium of Curiosities

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and had a good weekend.  I managed to get caught up on some crafting on Saturday and then started some decorating on Sunday.  I am having a few days off at the end of this week to get our dining room and lounge decorated before christmas.  Not really looking forward to doing it but looking forward to the end result.

Today I thought I would share a sample I made for the launch of the new Kraftyhands CD 'Emporium of Curiosities'.  The CD is full of artwork and papers and is suited for making both female and male cards.  The CD is being launched on The British Craft Network during November so keep your eyes peeled for it.  A great one to add to your collections.

I decided to go for a male creation using images and papers from the CD.  I cut the front of the card diagonally to create a bit of interest.  I used some blue cardstock for the matting and added some wooden cogs from my stash as embellishments.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Thank you all for the lovely comments you have been leaving me.  My apologies if I have not been by to comment on your lovely blogs.  Not enough hours in the day at the moment.
