Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying your week.  Don't know about you but the weeks are just flying by a bit too quickly for me at the moment.  Still got loads of christmas work to do lol.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Frame a Female
We have two sponsors joining us this week
Sassy Studio - prize of 4 digi images to the winner
Delicious Doodles - prize of 4 digi images to the winner

I used an image from both of our sponsors to create my fun inspirational card this week.


I used a border image from Delicious Doodles and the fun image, Uhura Sassy from Sassy Studio.  As Uhura is known as a character in Star Trek I decided to do a birthday card with that in mind.  Both the frame and the sassy image are coloured in promarkers and fussy cut out.  I also added some pearls from the Hobby House to her hair.  For the background I used some paper from my stash box that had some stars on it.  Onto this I matted a piece of black card.  I then used some sparkle medium from Imagination Crafts and one of my stencils to add some glittery stars.  I finally added some cut out stars and a sentiment that I did on the computer.  
Quite pleased with how this came out and as my hubby is a real trekkie he will probably get this for his birthday.  I think my hubby would love to beam her up lol.

    If your hubby is a trekker Mags he will really love the card! Interesting frame you chose that kinda reminds me of the tubes on the Enterprise they are always crawling thru! LOL! The pearls in her hair are a fun detail. Thank you for playing “Anything Goes” at our house!

    Great composition and execution! I love the pearls in her hair and of course the wonderful sentiment. I am a huge Star Trek fan. It is funny, you know, Captain Kirk never said those famous words "Beam me up, Scottie!" Very nicely crafted. Thanks for leaving this on our front porch here at 613 Avenue Create!
