Hero Arts goes Blue

Hi Folks
Happy Easter to you all.  Unfortunately not quite the bright sunny Easter Sunday we would have liked.  Currently raining here and looks like it might be set for a little while.  With the extra day off tomorrow I am managing to get some crafting time in today.
I have been having a play around with one of my Hero Arts images.  This particular stamp is one of my newer purchases but I just love it.  It is so versatile and can be used for all sorts of occasions. The sentiment banner on it is blank so you can personalise it as you want.

I started by completing the image panel first. I stamped my Hero Arts stamp onto the center of some white card.  I then used my distress inks to blend in the blue colour all over the white card.  This was then spritzed with water to give a speckled effect.  Although you can't see it very well I also used another Hero Arts swirl stamp on the background. I kept brushing the stamp with water and stamping it onto the background.  This removed some of the distress ink leaving a subtle swirly image.
I followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday to decide on the design of my card. The gingham panels create the frame image around the stamp.  Finishing touches were a sentiment which was die cut and some die cut flourishes added to it.  I die cut some butterflies and also added a bow, some pearls and a bit of doodling to the side panels.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge - photo inspiration
Totally Papercrafts - Bingo (blue, ribbon, pearls)
Sketch Saturday - use sketch
Pretty Little Ribbon Shop - To die for
A Blog Named Hero - use favourite Hero Arts product
Sweet Stampin - Dies and doodles
Catch the Bug - Anything goes
The Crafty Pad - Just die-delicious
Robyns Fetish - Anything goes

Thanks for popping by and hope you enjoy the rest of your day.  Might even pop out a bit later if the weather improves.  One of our local pubs always has a few live bands playing each bank holiday.  Trouble is the bands are on a covered stage in the beer garden.  Okay for the band as they are dry but not so good for the crowd lol.

Take care and hope to see you soon.
