Winter Animals at Winter Wonderland

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and looking forward to your weekend.  It doesn't look as if the weather is going to be too good so hoping to get lots of crafty time in.

Today is my first challenge post as a design team member for the Winter Wonderland challenge blog.  Our theme for this week is:
Winter Animals
This can include polar bears, penguins or any other winter animal.

Here is my inspiration project.

I love penguins so that had to be my animal of choice.  My penguin is stamped onto acetate and then glittered on the back to give lots of lovely sparkle.  The backing paper was in my christmas stash and I have had it for a couple of years.  I matted it onto some light blue pearlescent cardstock and added some glitter to the trees.  A sentiment and some peel off snowflakes finished the card.

This week we have three great sponsors.

Clickit4Crafts with $35 worth of products of the winners choice

Crafters Companion with £10 voucher to the winner

Crafts U Love with £10 voucher to the winner

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  Just pop over to Winter Wonderland to take part and see the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the team.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Oldie but a Goodie - Hats

It's All About The Love

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  Another week is whizzing by and not long now till the weekend and another week closer to my holiday.  We are going to Turkey for two weeks at the end of May and I am so looking forward to it.  Need the break and the sunshine lol.

Todays project uses images and papers from the Femme Fatale CD from Kraftyhands.

I printed out various papers and a pyramid topper from the CD.  All the matting was done onto pink cardstock.  For embellishments I added a ribbon and bow, rose, feather and a metal corner that I distressed with some acrylic paint.

I also made a little pillow box using the same image as the card.

I added some stickles around the image for added sparkle, some ribbon, a rose, feather and heart pin.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I do enjoy reading all your comments and really appreciate your visits.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

I went for something a bit different and created a handbag shaped card.  I used a template that I have had for several months (years lol).  The papers are from the Retro Roses 12 x 12 paper collection from Kraftyhands.  The flower has been done using a Spellbinders Die - again I used the Retro Roses papers.  The parchment butterfly is one my Mum made me and I cut the sentiment using my Scan N Cut.  I finished the card by adding some pearl bling.

Guest Designer at Crafting by Designs

Hi Folks
This is a busy day on my blog as this is the first of three posts that will be appearing througout the day.

Today I am posting as a guest designer over at Crafting by Designs challenges.  I received an email a little while ago asking if I would like to join them as a guest designer and I was delighted to accept.

The theme for the challenge is Mothers Day and you can enter anything you like as long as it fits the challenge theme.

Here is my inspiration project.

I used an image and sentiment from Joanna Sheen for my card.  This did come as a decoupage image but I decided to just leave it at the one layer.  I used some pink card from my stash for the matting.  The background is embossed using one of my flourish embossing folders.  I cut some corners using a memory box die and added a ribbon and bow across the centre.  The finishing touches were some punched butterflies and a resin flower on the bow and a few pearls.

Thank you to Crafting by Designs for inviting me to be a guest designer with them.  I hope you will consider entering the challenge.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Vintage Football and some exciting news

Hi Folks
Hope you have all had a good bank holiday weekend (if in the UK).  I have had a lovely weekend with family.  Not done a great deal but just spent time chilling and relaxing.  Back to reality tomorrow as work beckons.

Before I show you my card for today I would like to share some exciting news with you.  I am now a member of the Winter Wonderland design team.  I will be joining the Snowflakes team and my first challenge with them is on May 9th.  I am looking forward to sharing my first project with you and to getting a head start on my christmas cards.

And now onto my card share for today.  This is one I made for my future son-in-laws birthday.  He loves his football so this seemed appropriate.

I used an image from a Papermania stamp set that I have had for years.  I stamped the image with distress ink onto a piece of card that I had distressed with distress ink and my distress tool.  The Happy Birthday sentiment was done the same.  The papers were in my scraps box and I also distressed these with inks and my distress tool.  All the matting was done onto kraft card.  I added some ribbon and card candi as embellishments.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Happy Mothers Day

Hi Folks
The weekend has arrived and in the UK it is a bank holiday on Monday too.  Not that it makes much difference to me as I don't work Mondays anyway lol.  But it will be nice to spend time with family.  Our daughter rang us from Magalluf tonight.  She is enjoying herself and has settled down and already got herself a job for the summer.  Not bad considering she only went on Monday.  I know she will have the time of her life but will look forward to her coming home in August.

Todays card share is a simple Mothers Day card.

The image and papers came from an issue of Creative Cardmaking.  I added a doily behind the image and then edged the image with pearls.  I punched some little corners and a butterfly to add to the bow.  The final touch was a sentiment (done on the computer) and some liquid pearls added to the backing paper.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I apologise in advance if I am not about much this weekend.  We are going to stay at my Sister's today and won't be home until Monday.  Will be nice to spend a family weekend and see my two nephews.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Monochromatic with Indigo Blu

Hi Folks
Can't believe how quickly time is flying by at the moment.  We are already into May.  Another four weeks and I will be going on my holiday to Turkey.  I am so looking forward to it.

Today's card share was made using a free indigo blu stamp set that I got recently in a crafting magazine.

The main image was stamped in purple ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  I inked around the edges with some distress ink and matted onto dark purple card.  For the background I used the flourish stamp that came with the set and randomly stamped around the edge.  I then softened the edges with some more distress ink.  The little words are from the sentiment.  I added some paper flowers from Sweet Lilac Paper Flowers, some punched butterflies and gems.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Sweet Lilac Paper Flowers - Monochrome

Things with Wings at Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.
Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Imagination Crafts challenges.  Our theme for this month is:
Things with Wings
Don't forget that if you use any Imagination Crafts products you could win a £40 voucher to spend at Imagination Crafts.  What a prize.  Of course, any entries are eligible to be picked in our Top 3.

Here is my inspiration project.

I started by creating the background card using silkies and a script stamp.  I then stencilled onto this using sparkle medium and the panel stencil Meadow Flower.  While this was drying I cut out a piece of acetate and stencilled the same stencil but this time used silkies.  I attched the sparkle medium piece onto some light green card and then the acetate over this.  I offset a little bit so you can just see the sparkle medium behind the acetate and silkies.  I added some glitter strips to all four sides and a sparkly butterfly.

IC PRODUCTS USED
Panel Stencil Meadow Flower
Sparkle Medium
Silkies paints

Hi Folks
Hope you are all okay and your week is going well.  Sorry I haven't been around much the last couple of days.  I am feeling a bit under the weather at the moment so just trying to plod on.  Hopefully, it won't last long and I will soon be feeling better.

Sassy Studio - a prize of 4 digi images to the winner

Here is my inspiration project using a lovely image from StampArt called Gracie, who can be found here.

As you can see I went for an easel card this week.  The image was coloured in promarkers before adding some chalk (although you can't see it very well) to represent the sky and grass.  I created a frame for the image using one of my memory box frame dies.  The backing paper is from my freebie magazine paper box and I have had it for a good year or more.  For the base of the easel card I added some ribbon, a sentiment and some lovely pink buttons.  The daisy border is from my stash box and I added some gems for added sparkle.  A litte butterfly was the final finishing touch.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges to upload your entry.  Don't forget to check out the awesome creations from my teamies.

Secret Garden Scene

Hi Folks
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  Another early morning post for me, this scheduling of posts the night before seems to be working at the moment.  We are off out for a family Sunday lunch today before my youngest jets off to Magalluf for the summer.  There are 15 of us going so should be good fun.

Today's card share is using products from Imagination Crafts.

I used a couple of different stencils Garden Chair and Bird Cages with sparkle medium.  I just blanked off the areas on each stencil that I didn't want to use.  The background card is also from Imagaination Crafts and is called Secret Garden.  The card from Imagination is just gorgeous.  So many different colours and designs and made just the right size for the stencils.  After the sparkle medium was dry I matted onto white card and then onto some blue pearlescent card.  A ribbow and bow, some little punched flowers and gems finished the card.  I haven't added a sentiment yet as I thought I would wait until the right occasion came up.  But I think this could be used for a birthday or even a retirement.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Enjoy your Sunday whatever you are doing.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Anyone For Football

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying the start of the weekend.  I have got a few jobs to do this morning but plan on getting on with some DT work this afternoon.  We are going to some friends this evening for a few drinks and a takeaway.  Will be nice to have a chilled evening putting the world to rights lol.

I seem to have had to make a lot of male cards just lately.  This is one I was asked to make by my daughter for a friend.

I used a topper from LOTV as the basis for this card.  These are so useful for producing quick cards.  I matted the topper onto some green card and added some faux stitching.  The backing papers were in my scraps box just waiting for the right card to come along.  I added some ribbon and gems across the diagonal, a number 3 and a birthday sentiment.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  My apologies if I have not been round to comment very frequently.  Hopefully I will get round to do some commenting this weekend.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Cabbage Rose

Hi Folks
I bet I caught you by surprise posting this early in the day.  Had a bit of time last night so decided to schedule this post.  Really must try and get into the habit of doing this but that would mean I would have to be a bit more organised lol.

Anyway, todays card share is made using elements from one of the projects in the Create It magazine available from Kraftyhands.  This is a great magazine and contains 10 card projects with sketches, step by step photo instructions, hints and tips and featured techniques.  Included is an interactive CD-Rom with all the printable files for each project.

I printed out all the elements for this project and then just free styled and did my own thing.  Of course, you can make up the project as it is in the magazine if you wish.

I went for a bit of a distressed feel and went around the edges of the papers with my distress tool and some distress inks.  The only additions I made were the resin flowers and some pearls.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I can't promise an early morning post tomorrow but I will try lol.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Crafty Calendar - Things with wings
Little Claires - Lots of layers
Polka Doodles - Springtime

Something A Little Different

Hi Folks
Only one more working day and then it will be the weekend.  A busy one too as my daughter will be getting packed ready to go to Magalluf to work for the summer.  She is going out on Saturday night clubbing with all her friends so we have planned lunch out on Sunday with all the family.

Today's crafty share is something a little different for me.  I found this little MDF tray and containers in my local craft shop.  So I decided to decorate it up and put it in my craft room for holding my scoring tools etc.

I started out by painting all the pieces with some very light pink acrylic paint.  For the containers I tore up some decopatch papers and stuck them randomly over using decopatch glue.  I did a couple of layers to make sure the containers were all covered.  I used some black decorative border strips that I had in my stash for around the top of the containers and around the base.  I added a flower I made to the centre of the middle container and some purple glittered butterflies to the outer containers.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Crafty Ribbons - Anything but a card
CRAFT - Not a card
Butterfly Challenge - Glamorous butterflies

A Celebration

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  A quick post from me tonight but I wanted to share our lovely news with you all.  Our eldest daughter and her boyfriend have got engaged.  They are hoping to get married in June 2015 so I will be busy with invites and everything for them.  We are so thrilled for them as they are such a lovely couple together.

We did know that Gary was going to propose as he came to see me and hubby last week to ask our permission.  He is so sweet and such a traditional guy.
Over the weekend I made this card for them as we knew she would say yes.

I used a sizziz die for the lacy panel.  I kept the colour scheme to white and purple.  The backing paper is from my stash box but I don't know who it is by.  I have had it for months.  I kept the embellishments quite simple and used peel offs for the sentiment.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

What a Hoot from Kraftyhands

Hi Folks
Hope you have all had a good weekend.  We have had a very relaxed one and I can't believe it is all over and we are back to work tomorrow.

Over the last couple of days I have been having a play with the new CD 'What A Hoot' that is being launched by Kraftyhands on May 5th.  The CD is available to order from here and you are not going to want to miss out on this one.  You can also see a video walkthrough on You Tube giving details of all the lovely goodies on this CD.

Here is one of my sample cards that I have made.

There are some lovely shaped owl cards on the CD and I decided to use the shaped card and make it into an easel card.  My Scan N Cut made the cutting out easy.  The papers on the base and the sentiment are also from the CD.  The only addition from my stash are the mirror card flourishes.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Enjoy the rest of your Easter weekend and will be back soon.

Baby Boy

Hi Folks
I have had a lovely day today.  Went shopping with my two daughters this morning.  My youngest daughter is going to Magalluf next week to work during the summer before she starts her midwife training in September.  So we went to get her some last minutes bits that she needs to take with her.  It is going to be quiet without her for four months but I am sure she will enjoy herself.  I also managed to get into my crafty room this afternoon for a little play.

Today I would like to share a card that my sister asked me to make for a friend who is having a baby.

The images for this card came from a very old Making Cards Special Occasions magazine.  Think I must have had it for about three years.  The images were all matted onto light green card and then edged with stardust stickles.  The gingham background paper is from Wild Rose Studio.  I punched out some little flowers  and added a blue bow and pearl heart.

Thanks for popping by and hope you all have a good Easter break.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
