Flowers and Roses at Hobbycutz

Morning Everyone

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  Looks like it might be a fairly nice day today.  Do hope so as my garden really needs a bit of tender loving care.  The weeds have been enjoying all the rain just a bit too much and have started taking over lol.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Hobbycutz Challenges.  Our challenge theme for this fortnight is

Flowers and/or Roses

You can create whatever you like as long as we can see some flowers and/or roses on your creation.

Our sponsor for this challenge is

Robyns Fetish Digital Stamps and the winner will receive 5 digi stamps of their choice.

We also have a guest design spot for the month of July up for grabs.  If you would like to be our guest designer just add GDT after your name when you link your entry.  The guest design winner will then be selected and will receive a £10 voucher for Hobbycutz.

Here is my little inspiration project for you using an image from Robyns Fetish.

Kept it quite simple and went for nice soft colours.  I used the vine and butterfly from Hobbycutz as embellishments on my card.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  For more inspiration just pop over to Hobbycutz Challenges and check out my teamies makes.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Bring on the Sunshine at A Gem of a Challenge

Morning Folks

Hope you are all well and, if in the UK, looking forward to our bank holiday weekend.  I haven't got anything planned just looking forward to an extra day off work.  Maybe even get a little extra crafty time in.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge.  The theme for this challenge has been set by our lovely Katie and she has chosen:

Bring on the Sunshine

The challenge will run from 8am 25th May to 6pm 31st May.

The prize for the winner is:

2 individual digi images

(NO SETS, PERSONALISED WATERMARKS OR SENTIMENT SETS)

of the winners choice from Pink Gem Designs.

I have used the super little wheelbarrow image which can be found here.  I used the precoloured image which is really time saving if you haven't got a lot of time available.  I teamed it up with some freebie papers from a magazine.  The backing card is a lovely golden yellow.  I have tried not to crowd the image with too many embellishments.

Thanks for popping by and for more inspiration just pop over to A Gem Of A Challenge and check out what the rest of the design team have been up to.  Looking forward to seeing all your creations.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Whoopsi Daisy - Flowers

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Morning Folks

Hope you are all well and having a good week.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is

You must use at least one circle on your project.

We have two generous sponsors for you this week:

The Paper Shelter - prize of $20 gift certificate

QKR Stampede - prize of 5 digi images of the winners choice

For my inspiration project I used a super image from QKR Stampede.  The cute image was coloured using my promarkers and I then cut him out and mounted him onto a circle of kraft card and a doily. The dotty paper was from my scraps.  Added a circle sentiment, some ribbon (some of it dotty) and some card candi as embellishments.

Thanks for popping by.  For full challenge rules and to enter our challenge just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our design all have all been busy creating some super projects for your inspiration too.  Looking forward to seeing all your entries.

Keep Calm and Drink Wine

Morning Folks

My card share today is a quick and simple Fathers Day card.

I used the Keep Calm and Drink Wine digi from Pink Gem Designs which can be found here.  I used distress ink to add some colour and mounted onto kraft card and blue card.  For the background I stamped and embossed a Fathers Day sentiment several times.  I added some distress ink around the edges and mounted onto blue card.  A bit of ribbon across the centre and some faux stitching finished the card.

Hope you will agree that this makes for a very simple but effective Fathers Day card.

Thanks for popping by and for the lovely comments you leave me.  I do read every one and really appreciate you taking the time to pop by my little blog.

It'a all about the children at Forever Friends

Morning Everyone

Well, another weekend has flown by.  We collected our daughter from university on Saturday.  She has just completed four years of study and should be graduating in July.  Still trying to find room and places for all the stuff she has accumulated over four years.  Still, it is nice to have her home and she is now starting on the difficult task of finding a job.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new fortnightlychallenge over at Forever Friends Challenges.  Our theme for this fortnight is

Make a card/project for a child

We have two sponsors joining us for this challenge:

Cupids Clear Stamps

A Day for Daisies

I have made two projects for the challenge.

I used a cute image from A Day for Daisies for this card.  Kept the design quite simple and a minimum of embellishments, some lace, card candi and a crotchet flower.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
A Little Bit Crafty - Kraft it
Crafty Boots - Celebrations
Stamp N Doodle - Anything goes
Pretty Little Ribbon - Lace
Crafts and Me - Use a digi
QKR Stampede - Childrens cards or tags
OSAAT - Use a digi
Love to Create - Something for kids

My second card features a little Forever Friends bear.  I used a rubber stamp from the new Kraft Notes range from Papermania.  I coloured him in using distress inks.  I used some papers from my stash (sorry, not sure where they are from).  I created a heart aperture and matted and layered.  I thought this made an ideal first birthday card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Charisma Cardz - No digis allowed
Chocolate, coffee and cards - Use a number
Allsorts - True blue
Kaboodle Doodles - Stripes and/or circles

Sadly, this will be the last Forever Friends challenge.  It is time to say goodbye to these cute little bears and take things in a new direction.

The good news is that the entire design team is moving over to a brand new weekly challenge blog called Crafty Friends.  The first challenge will go live on June 1st and we hope you will all join us.

Thanks for popping by.  Do hope you will stop by the Forever Friends challenge blog to check out all the details for our last challenge and to feast your eyes on the wonderful inspiration projects from the rest of the design team.

Looking forward to seeing all your entries.

The Crafting Cafe May Challenge

Morning Everyone

I am here today with a little reminder and some inspiration for our current challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.  Our theme for the month of May is

Lady Luck

We have been sponsored by the wonderful Bugaboo Stamps.

I used this super Stella image from Bugaboo Stamps.  As I didn't want to detract from the fab image and sentiment I kept the card very simple.  The papers were in my scraps box.  I added some ribbon and a couple of fabric flowers.  These are from Docrafts and are part of the new collection.  I added some dots of colours around the image to add some interest and I think it borders it quite nicely.

So for your chance to win some fab images from Bugaboo just pop over to The Crafting Cafe and enter our challenge.  Looking forward to seeing your entries.

Now for somthing completely different

Morning Folks

Just a quick post from me today as hubby and I are getting ready to go and collect my daughter and her belongings from university.  She had her last exam yesterday and is now ready to come home.  Now we have the agonising wait to find out what her results are.  We are so proud of her and this four years has really flown by.

Anyway, I have been looking for some time for something crafty that I could do while sitting with hubby in the evenings.  I am not really a television person and can't just sit there watching it.  I get bored very easily.  I was at my local craft shop a couple of weeks ago and came across Kumihimo braiding.  It looked interesting and so I bought a few bits.  I am now hooked and here are some of my bracelets I have done.

These bracelets have been done using a round Kumihimo disc and rattail cord. I have finished them off with end caps.

These have had beads added.  I must admit I love the beaded ones and they are relatively quick to do.

Now I am very much a beginner so if anyone out there has any hints and tips, patterns or books they can recommend I would be grateful.  Also, good suppliers of cord and beads too.

Thanks for popping by and would love to hear what you think.  Just leave me a comment.

Right, got to go now and finish getting ready.  Should be back this evening so will have a catch up with your blogs later.

Exciting Times

Hi Everyone

Just wanted to let you know about a great new challenge blog coming your way.

I am thrilled to be a part of this new challenge blog and will be posting my first project on Saturday 1st June.

For more information and to enter our opening candy draw just pop by here.

Can't wait for the fun to start and hope you will all join us.

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hope you are all well on this wet, windy and miserable Wednesday.  It really has turned cold again here in the UK, well, at least where I am in the UK.

I went to the cinema last night to watch the new Star Trek movie.  Not my choice of film but really enjoyed it.  Was a bit worrried that the film makers would try and change the personalities of the characters from the original series but they didn't.  Overall, a really good film and would recommend it.  Even my daughter, who doesn't normally like anything science fiction, enjoyed it.

Hopefully, I will get the chance to catch up with some commenting this evening.  Sorry if I have not been by to comment recently.  Things have been a bit busy here.  Sometimes I just wish I could buy a bit of time.

Anyway, let's get onto the reason I am here.  Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our them for this week is:

Create a step or easel card

We have two sponsors for this challenge:

Stampin Dragon - prize 5 digi images of the winners choice

Stampart Design - prize 5 digi images of the winners choice

Here is my inspiration project using a lovely image from Stampart Design.

I made an easel card and kept the design quite simple.  I framed the image using a lovely die cut frame from Memory Box.  The papers were all scraps (slowly getting down the pile).  The sentiment diecut was a freebie in a magazine.  The little flowers were all made using my punches.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

On your Travels

Hi Everyone.  Hope you are all well.  It has been a right mixture of weather here today, a bit of sun, some wind followed by outbreaks of rain.  I think the April showers have got a bit confused lol.

Thought I had better get a card posted today as going to the cinema after work tomorrow so won't get a chance.  Hubby wants to see the Star Trek film.  Not really my cup of tea although I did enjoy the original Star Trek series.  But we are going to Frankie and Benny's first for dinner so not all bad.

Here is my card for today which happens to be a male card.  This has been made for my sister to give to her Father-In-Law.  He does like his holidays so tried to go for a travel theme.

I started out by doing my own background paper.  I used distress ink to colour the card annd then overstamped with some watch and cog stamps that I had in my stamp collection.  The map stamp is from Papermania.  I stamped it out, tore round it and then used distress ink to age it.  I added some little tags from Papermania, some twine, a charm and a sentiment from LOTV.

A bit of a different style from me but I quite like it.  Hope my sister does.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Sweet Stamps - Stamp your own background
Stamp N Doodle - Distressed
Crafty Creations - Something old (stamps)/Something new (charm)
Whimsy Stamps - Anything goes
Crafty Ribbons - No designer papers

It's All About The Sentiment

Hi Everyone, hope you are all having a good weekend.

We went out to a 50th birthday party last night.  The vodka was flowing a bit too freely and I am feeling a bit delicate today.  Still, we had a good time and it was nice catching up with people we don't see very often.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Corrosive Challenges.  Our theme for this challenge is

My Sentiments Exactly

Just use a sentiment on your creation, whether it accompanies an image or is your main focal point.

Our sponsor for this challenge who is generously giving a prize of a $10 voucher to the winner is Graphicat Designs.

I used this great sentiment from Graphicat for my creation today.  I decided not to have an image and use the sentiment as the focal point.  I also went with a feminine, girly theme.  I also didn't use any papers on this one.  The backing is a piece of foiled acetate.  This card will be going to a really good friend of mine for her birthday in October.  Get me, so organised.

For more inspiration just check out my teamies creations over at Corrosive Challenges.  Looking forward to seeing all your creations.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Hobbycutz Challenges.

More than one fold

Our sponsor for this challenges is Crafts and Me.

Now you don't have to use a Hobbycutz product to enter the challenge but anyone who does will be entered into a seperate draw for a Hobbycutz gift voucher.

I decided to make a new home card using this lovely topper that I found hiding in my stash.  I used the picket fence, little sign and butterflies from Hobbycutz as embellishements.  The sign and butterflies were covered in gilding flakes.  I added an ivy corner die cute and lots of little roses.

Here is another view

Mothers Day

Hope you are all well.  Well, it was back to work today after a lovely relaxing Bank Holiday weekend.  I did intend doing some crafting yesterday but the weather was so nice we ended up going to my brother-in-law's for a barbecue instead.  Had a lovely time catching up on all the news and it's always nice seeing the men cooking while us ladies are enjoying a Pimms lol.

Of course, it did mean that I didn't get a chance to catch up with all your blogs as I intended.  I will try and catch up a bit tonight.

My card share for today is a card that I made for my Sister to give to her Mother-In-Law.  Apologies in advance for the quality of the photos.  At the time I made it (beginning of March) the weather was not being too kind to us in the UK and I just couldn't get a decent photo.

All the products I used on this card were from Craftwork Cards.  I made up all the large flowers and sprayed them with some sparkle spray.  I used pearls and gems for the centres of all the flowers and some card candi for around the centre panel.

Here is a picture of the inside:

Thanks for popping by and thank you for all the lovely comments you leave me.  It is really appreciated.  I am now at 281 followers, only another 19 and I will be at 300.  I feel a giveaway coming on.

Dream Valley Challenges

Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.  I have had a pleasant easy day today.  As it is bank holiday tomorrow my daughter has popped home from uni for the weekend.  She has her last exam on May 17th and then the agonising wait for her results.  We keep telling her she has to graduate now as we have already paid for the hotel stay in Manchester and graduation tickets lol.

Anyway, I am a bit late posting this, sorry ladies.  Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Dream Valley Challenges.  Our theme for this fortnight is:

No Squares Allowed

So show us your shapely creations to be in with a chance of winning our sponsor prize from Crafty Ribbons. The prize is a £10 gift voucher.

I used a lovely vintage step card blank from Whichcraft for my project.  I used some pink patterned paper from my stash box which I distressed with some distress ink.  The sentiment that I used as the focal image is a peeloff that I have had for a couple of years.  For embellishments I used some swirls that came with the card blanks, roses, butterflies and some liquid pearls to highlight around the sentiment.

I must apologise for the quality of the photo.  It was quite dark when I took it and the silvery foiled sentiment does glare a bit.

I hope you like and for more inspiration just pop over to Dream Valley.  Looking forward to seeing all your creations.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments - Birthday sentiment
Disdigidesigns - Anything but square
Lexis Creations - Happy Birthday
