On Your Wedding Day

Hi Folks
Hope you have all had an enjoyable weekend.  Spent Saturday afternoon with my daughters at a local event in our town for Armed Forces Day.  The weather was gorgeous and lovely to see so many people in our town supporting the event.  Today has been a bit quieter and a a day for catching up on things before the week ahead.

Today I thought I would share with you the card that I made for my Daughter and Son-In-Law for their wedding.

I wanted to use the colour scheme of the wedding which was Royal Blue for the card.  My new Son-In-Law is a supporter of our local football team - Peterborough United - and their colour is blue.  Heather decided to choose their colour as the main theme for the wedding which did please Gary immensely.

For the card I used various embossing folders and dies.  The background is a swirly embossing folder, I added versamark to the folder before embossing and then sparkly embossing powder.  The frame die is a Sue Wilson die and I also used her lattice weaving dies for the inner background to the frame.  The roses were created with a bitty blossom die from Spellbinders and I added some Memory Box die flourishes.  A ribbon bow and some pearls to the corners etc finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I really appreciate all the lovely comments that you leave me.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Not Just Cards - Anything goes
Dragonfly Dreams - Special Occasion

More Than One Fold at Winter Wonderland

Hi Folks
Hope you are well and it looks like we are finally getting some sunny weather.  Yesterday was gorgeous here, very hot and sunny.  Might even be able to have a barbecue at the weekend.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
More Than One Fold
You can enter anything you like as long as it fits the challenge theme and is christmas based.

Here is my inspiration project which is a pop up card.

This is the inside of the card.
And this is the front of the card.

I go to a cardmaking workshop once a month and we learned how to make this style of pop up card at the last one I attended.
The front of the card is actually an image from a christmas card that I received last year.  It was such a lovely image that I decided to recycle it.
For the inside I used some scraps of paper from my scraps box and embellished with a wooden deer, wooden stars, christmas trees and a sentiment.

Now our sponsor for the challenge this week is:
Dis Digi Stamps - with a prize of a $12 voucher to the winner.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries to our challenge.  Just pop over to Winter Wonderland for full challenge details.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Fathers Day and a Wonderful Weekend

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  I am now back in the land of the living after a fabulous weekend celebrating my daughters wedding.  On Saturday we spent the day with family who had arrived for the wedding.  We had lunch and dinner out together with a few drinks.  On Sunday the big day arrived and it was fabulous.  Everything went so well.  The weather was very kind to us and my daughter looked stunning in her wedding dress.  Our other daughter was her maid of honour and she also looked beautiful.  Everyone had such a good time and Heather certainly had a day to remember.  I have attached a few photos below.

But back to crafty matters.  Today I am sharing a Fathers Day card that I did for my hubby.  What a day to remember he had, walking his daughter up the aisle.

The Happy Fathers Day is a large stamp that I got free with a magazine.  I stamped and embossed it and then coloured in the Fathers word with promarkers.  The background is a tie stamp which was stamped in versamark and then mica powder brushed over the top.  I then did a couple of folded shirts to finish the card.

Now as promised here are a few pics of the wedding.

Our gorgeous daugher.

A very proud Mummy and Daddy.

Heather and her sister both looking fabulous.

A family shot of the bride and groom and both sets of parents.

A super cute shot of their flower girl.

The fabulous cake with lots of piped roses.

Thanks for popping by and hope I haven't bored you too much with the wedding photos.

Hi Folks
Welcome back for my second post of the day.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:

We have three sponsors joining us for this challenge:

Oddball Art - prize of 3 digi images to the winner
Di's Digi Stamps - prize of a $12 gift certificate to the store

Here is my inspiration project using a cute Lizzy Love image from Oddball Art which can be found here.

Sorry about the poor photo.  Just could not seem to get a good pic.
The speech bubble actually says 'Can you keep a secret??'.  I decided to go down the route of a young lady declaring her love for someone hence the love themed papers and all the hearts.  To add to the romantic feel I added a feather, some resin and pearl hearts and a red rose.  The image was coloured in promarkers and I added some liquid pearls around the image to break up the white background.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the super inspiration projects from my talented teamies.

Hi Folks
Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Use Your Favourite Embellishment

Our sponsor for this week is Little Blue Button Stamps with a super prize of a $10 gift certificate to their online store.

Here is my inspiration project using a cute image from Little Blue Button Stamps called You Got A Present which can be found here.

This is such a cute image and could be used for various occasions.  I coloured the image with my promarkers before cutting out and mounting behind a Sue Wilson Noble die which acted as a frame.  The background striped paper is from Graphic 45.  I have several embellishments which I love including ribbon, feathers and flowers.  So I added them all to my creation along with some punched butterflies.  With the addition of some distress ink I tried to give it a bit of a vintage feel.  Hope I achieved that, what do you think?

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the gorgeous creations from my talented teamies.

Here's to a Top Chap

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and thanks for popping by.  Well, I have had a lovely time in Marbella for my daughter's hen weekend.  We arrived on Friday and got home on Monday lunchtime.  Managed to spend some time soaking up the sun around the pool and on the beach.  There was also a little bit of drinking involved.  It still amazes me how much stamina the youngsters have.  I have added a few photos to the end of my post.  Now we just have the wedding to look forward to in a couple of weeks.

Today I thought I would share with you a male card using a shirt topper set from Papermania.

I love these shirt decoupage sets and they are just great for male cards.  I used black card for the matting and the sentiment was also from the topper set.  The papers were also from the set and I added some buttons to some black ribbon which I added under the sentiment.

As promised here are a couple of photos from the weekend.

 My two beautiful daughters.

Me and the bride to be Heather.

A group shot of us all on Saturday night.

Anything Goes at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and many thanks for popping by.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is a nice easy one for you:
Anything Goes

We have two great sponsors joining us this week:
Lacy Sunshine - prize of a $20 gift certificate
Imagine That - prize of a $10 gift certificate

Here is my inspiration project using a great image from Lacy Sunshine called Gamer Reggie.

I actually used my prismacolour pencils to colour this one in for a change.  The colours are much more vivid in real life and I do need more practise but quite pleased with the effect.  I went around the edges of the image with some faux stitching and then mounted onto some blue card.  All of the backing paper is from my scraps box and I finished the card with a sentiment and some card candy.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for full challenge details.  My talented teamies have been hard at work so don't forget to check out their super inspiration projects too.

Here is my inspiration project using a cute image called Digi SW Flower which can be found here.

I printed the image out and mounted onto some dark blue card before adding some faux stitching around the edge.  I decided not to colour the image and just embellished with some pearls.  The gingham patterned paper is also from Little Claire and can be found here.  To finish the card I added some ribbon, twine, sentiment and flowers.

The winner of the challenge will receive their choice of five digis from Little Claire and this lovely banner to display on their blog.

Thanks again for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Little Claire's Designs for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the lovely inspiration projects from my talented teamies.
