Hi Folks
Just thought I would pop by with a little post before I go on holiday.  We set off for Turkey in a couple of hours for two weeks in the lovely sunshine.  I have a few DT posts scheduled for while I am away.  You can't get rid of me that easily lol.

Here are a couple of cards I have created using the new CD from Kraftyhands which is due for release on 9th June.  The CD is called Picnic Time and is full of cute bear images as well as lots more.

Thanks for popping by and will catch up with you in a couple of weeks.

Happy Fathers Day

Hi Folks
Hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend.  Only four more sleeps left now before my holiday.  I am getting very excited and I apologise if I am not around much this week.  Got to fit in going to work and getting all the packing done etc.

Today I thought I would share with you a couple of Fathers Day cards made using my Brother Scan and Cut machine.

I used some free cutting files that I downloaded from Bird's Cards here.

For this first one I cut the background and the sentiment out of white card using the free cutting files.  These were then mounted onto white and then black card.  I added some gingham ribbon across one corner and added the word DAD which I used a die for.  Some gems and little metal cogs in the opposite corner finished the card.

The background and Happy Fathers Day sentiment were done using cutting files.  I made this one into a twisted easel card.  I also cut out the letters for the work DAD using my Scan and Cut.  Although it doesn't look like it the top part of the card is the same colour blue as the bottom.  Obviously when taking the photo a shadow was cast making it appear darker.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

More Picnic Time from Kraftyhands

Hi Folks
Yippee, the weekend has arrived and in the UK it is a Bank Holiday weekend.  Today will be spent finishing off any DT cards before my holiday.  I will also be starting my packing, only another week to go.  Plans are now well underway for my daughters wedding next year.  They have booked a venue and set the date so this week I have been making Save the Date cards.  Exciting times ahead.

Today I thought I would share another card made using the Picnic Time CD from Kraftyhands.

The image and all the papers are from the CD and I used some dark blue pearlescent paper for the matting.  I added some lace across the centre and then made some little flowers out of lace too.  The hearts were cut using a memory box die and some blue pearls were added to the corners.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  This is a gorgeous CD with some wonderful images and papers.  You can pre order the CD here and the scheduled release date is 9th June.

Our theme for this week is:
Spots and/or Stripes
You can enter any project as long as it fits the challenge theme.

Here is my inspiration project.

I used a digi set from Dee Dees Digis called Fluttering By.  I used the pre coloured digi in the set which is just perfect for quick cards.  The spotty background paper is from Papermania and I used some red coredinations for the matting.  The inner panel has been embossed using an embossalicious trellis embossing folder.  I added lots of gems to the trellis work.  The edge of the inner panel and the sentiment panel have had stickles added for extra sparkle.  A little bow and pearl embellishment finished the card.

We have two great sponsors for this week's challenge.

Guest Designer at Butterfly Challenge

Hi Folks
Today I am joining the Butterfly Challenge as a guest designer.  I was delighted to be asked as I love using butterflies on my projects.  Thank you to the Butterfly Challenge for letting me join you this week and I hope you like my inspiration project.

I used an indigo blu stamp set that I received free in a crafty magazine.  I stamped the images in versamark and then embossed with white WOW embossing powder.  I was then able to create a coloured background using distress inks.  The sentiment and butterfly were embossed with personal impressions black super sparkle embossing powder.  I added some punched flowers to the corners, some punched mini butterflies (love this punch) and a bow and pearl embellishment.

The theme for the challenge is Tic Tac Toe and here is the grid that you are required to follow.  You can choose any line you like as long as it dissects the central square.

I managed to use a couple of the lines:  wet embossing, butterflies, flowers and punches, butterflies, gems.

Picnic Time at Kraftyhands

Hi Folks
After a lovely relaxing three days in the sunshine I am back to work today.  I just hope that they have turned the air conditioning on in the office lol.

Today I would like to share a project made using a soon to be released CD from Kraftyhands.

As you can see I made a little hanging picture frame.  The frames, teddy bear images and the little butterflies are all on the CD.  I added some pearlescent card behind each frame and have left an opening at the top to enable a photograph to be slipped inside.  From my own stash I added some buttons and flowers from Sweet Lilac Paper Flowers.  To link all the frames together I used some pink raffia twine.

Here is a closer image of one of the frames.

The CD is called 'Picnic Time' and is full of cute teddy images, papers, toppers etc.  They are so cute and I know you will have great fun creating with them.  The CD is available to preorder from here and will be shipped from June 9th.  You can also watch a walkthrough of the CD on You Tube here.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

Creatures at The Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
Hope you all had a good weekend and are all refreshed for the week ahead.

Today I would like to share a little inspiration for our current monthly challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.  Our theme for this month is:
Creatures
You can create anything you like as long as you follow the challenge theme.

Here is my inspiration project.

I used a cute digi image from Oak Pond Creations called Olivia Owl.  I decided to go for a monochromatic look and only added some grey promarker, for definition, to the image.  I matted the image onto black card and added some black soot distress ink and stickles around the edge for added sparkle.  The sentiment was given the same treatment.  The background paper is from Papermania and was also matted onto black card.  The ribbon and flowers are from my stash and I also added some punched corners and a little pearl embellishment to the bow.

Our sponsor for the challenge is Oak Pond Creations.

The prize is 3 digi images of the winners choice.

It's all about the purple

Hi Folks
Hope you have all had a good weekend.  The weather has been lovely and I have been making the most of you. We had a barbecue on Saturday and today was spent doing a bit of tidying up in the garden and relaxing in the sun.  Let's hope the good weather lasts.

I did manage to catch the shows that Imagination Crafts did on Create and Craft this weekend.  I even saw some of my samples.  Sue and Lisa did a fabulous job of demonstrating showing lots of lovely techniques.  I hope that some of you got a chance to tune in.

Here is one of the samples that I did using the Tile Butterfly Stencil, Princess Cupcake stencil and some lavender sparkle medium.  The printed cardstock is also from Imagination Crafts.

As you can see I used the stencil and sparkle medium for the butterfly.  I did the butterfly twice so that I could decoupage it to add dimension.  The princess cupcake stencil was used on acetate with diamond white sparkle medium a couple of times.  I then cut it out and overlapped the layers to create a flower.  I added some pearl embellishments, a bow and a dazzler to the centre of the flower.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I do love reading all your comments and appreciate the time that you take to visit my blog.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Crafting for all Seasons - Things with wings

Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks
Thought I would pop over and share one of the samples that I have done for the Imagination Crafts weekender shows on Create and Craft this weekend.  See my post below for the show times.

The background was created by sponging with silkies.  I then overstamped using one of the accessory stamps from the main butterfly decoupage stamp.  This was then mounted onto dark purple card.  The main stamp has also been coloured with silkies.  I then stamped the main image onto acetate and used sparkle medium on the butterflies.  When dry I cut them out and added them onto the stamp image.  I punched some little flowers and added a purple bow and pearl embellishment.

Thanks for popping by and hope you can tune in to some of Sue's shows.  I will share more samples soon.

Crafting Musketeers Anything But Square

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and looking forward to your weekend.  I will be busy doing DT work as I need to get ahead before I go on holiday.

I am here today to provide a little inspiration and reminder about our monthly challenge over at Crafting Musketeers.  Our theme for this month is:
Anything But Square

Here is my inspiration project.

I go to a monthly card making group and last month we created this card shape.  When completed you end up with a little pocket on the front and on the inside of the card.  I used a glittered acetate shoe as the main image on my card front.  I then created a couple of tags and tucked them into the front pocket.  A few gems and some faux stitching completed the look.

Here is a picture of the inside with another glittered acetate shoe.  The pocket on the inside would be ideal for putting another tag greeting or a gift voucher etc.

Our fabulous sponsor for this months challenge is Katy Sue Designs and this is the prize up for grabs.

It is also the 1st birthday for Crafting Musketeers so there will also be a small mystery prize for each of the Top 3.  Plus the Top 3 will have the chance to GDT with us along with the winner.

Thanks for popping by and hope you will pop over to Crafting Musketeers where you will find more inspiration from the talented design team.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss - Don't be square
Artistic Inspirations - Anything goes

Things with Wings at Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks
We are now halfway through May and our current challenge over at Imagaination Crafts Challenges.
So time for a little mid month inspiration for our Things with Wings challenge.
Don't forget that if you use any Imagination Crafts products you could win a £40 voucher to spend at Imagination Crafts.

Here is my inspiration project.

I created the background by sponging silkies.  Although you can't really see in the photo it has given a lovely pearlescent and shimmery finish.  I then used the bird cages stencil and sparkle medium over the top.  Some little flowers were punched out of cardstock and added to the greenery.  Some blue ribbon across the bottom, a sentiment from Craftwork cards and some pearls finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and for more inspiration just pop over the Inspiration Crafts Challenge blog.

Anything Goes at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Well, another week has gone by and today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges
Our theme for this week is
Anything Goes
You can create anything you like so let your creativity go wild.

Here is my inspiration project using an image from Lacy Sunshine.

I went for something a little different and decorated a gift bag.  The image has been coloured in promarkers before being cut out leaving a little border.  I then added some faux stitching around the image.  The backing paper was from my scraps box.  I created a frame around the image using ribbon and large gems.  I have a plastic template for a little dog so I cut one out of cardstock and added some bling for a collar.  It reminds me of the famous little dog found on a certain brand of handbag lol.

Our sponsor for this week is Lacy Sunshine with a prize of 3 digi images to the winner.

It's All About The Football

Hi Folks
This is a quick early morning post for me as I am getting ready to go to work.  I had a lovely day shopping with my daughter yesterday.  Got a few more holiday bits so quite pleased.

Todays card is a card I made for my daughter to give to our future son-in-law for his birthday.  He is really into his football and I wanted to do something clean and simple.

The image is from a stamp set from Papermania.  I stamped the image onto some white card using distress ink and just added a bit of colour to the shirt.  Not much to say about the rest of the card. Some matting and layering onto blue card, a stamped sentiment, some ribbon and blue gems.

I did enjoy making this card but find the clean and simple style so difficult.  I do love my embellishments and patterned papers lol.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know if you think I have captured the clean and simple theme.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Fancy Folds

Hi Folks
Another early morning post from me.  I actually managed to find time to schedule this last night while watching TV.  Today I am doing a bit of crafting in the morning and then I am going shopping with my daughter to get a few bits and pieces for my holiday.  We will probably have lunch out too.  Hope you all have a good day, whatever you are doing.

Today I thought I would share another card made using the What A Hoot CD from Kraftyhands.

I purchased the accordion card die when Sizziz had their sale recently so I decided to give it a go.  All of the images, sentiments and papers are from the CD.  I just added a bit of card candi to the corners and some faux stitching around the images.  Loved making this card although I did make the mistake of putting it all together before I decorated it.  With a bit of snipping of papers and careful gluing I did manage it but next time I will know to decorate before putting together lol.

The What A Hoot CD is just fabulous with some gorgeous images and papers.  You can purchase it here from Kraftyhands.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I really appreciate all your comments.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Digi Choosday - Wings and things
Crafting by Designs - Anything goes
Papertake - Anything goes
CRAFT - Birthday

Happy Birthday

Hi Folks
A bit of a late post for me today.  We went out for Sunday lunch today with my eldest daughter and her fiance and I managed a bit of crafting this afternoon.  Just settling down to watch a bit of TV and catch up with some commenting.

Today's card share is a birthday card.

The image and papers used for this card are from an issue of Creative Cardmaking.  I added some stickles around the image for added sparkle.  I used an all occasion die (from the Trellis trio set) to cut the card front.  I attached some gold mirror card behind the die cut.  Some lace, pearls and a glittered parchment butterfly finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I love reading all your lovely comments.
