Pastel Colours at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are all okay and your week is going well.  Sorry I haven't been around much the last couple of days.  I am feeling a bit under the weather at the moment so just trying to plod on.  Hopefully, it won't last long and I will soon be feeling better.

Anyway, as it is Wednesday a new challenge starts today over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Pastel Colours
As always, you are free to enter any project as long as it fits with the challenge theme.
We have two great sponsors for you this week.
StampArt - a prize of 5 digi images to the winner
Sassy Studio - a prize of 4 digi images to the winner

Here is my inspiration project using a lovely image from StampArt called Gracie, who can be found here.

As you can see I went for an easel card this week.  The image was coloured in promarkers before adding some chalk (although you can't see it very well) to represent the sky and grass.  I created a frame for the image using one of my memory box frame dies.  The backing paper is from my freebie magazine paper box and I have had it for a good year or more.  For the base of the easel card I added some ribbon, a sentiment and some lovely pink buttons.  The daisy border is from my stash box and I added some gems for added sparkle.  A litte butterfly was the final finishing touch.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges to upload your entry.  Don't forget to check out the awesome creations from my teamies.

Secret Garden Scene

Hi Folks
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  Another early morning post for me, this scheduling of posts the night before seems to be working at the moment.  We are off out for a family Sunday lunch today before my youngest jets off to Magalluf for the summer.  There are 15 of us going so should be good fun.

Today's card share is using products from Imagination Crafts.

I used a couple of different stencils Garden Chair and Bird Cages with sparkle medium.  I just blanked off the areas on each stencil that I didn't want to use.  The background card is also from Imagaination Crafts and is called Secret Garden.  The card from Imagination is just gorgeous.  So many different colours and designs and made just the right size for the stencils.  After the sparkle medium was dry I matted onto white card and then onto some blue pearlescent card.  A ribbow and bow, some little punched flowers and gems finished the card.  I haven't added a sentiment yet as I thought I would wait until the right occasion came up.  But I think this could be used for a birthday or even a retirement.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Enjoy your Sunday whatever you are doing.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Unstampabelles - Bird or animal
The Squirrel and The Fox - Diecut or punch (punched flowers)

Anyone For Football

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying the start of the weekend.  I have got a few jobs to do this morning but plan on getting on with some DT work this afternoon.  We are going to some friends this evening for a few drinks and a takeaway.  Will be nice to have a chilled evening putting the world to rights lol.

I seem to have had to make a lot of male cards just lately.  This is one I was asked to make by my daughter for a friend.

I used a topper from LOTV as the basis for this card.  These are so useful for producing quick cards.  I matted the topper onto some green card and added some faux stitching.  The backing papers were in my scraps box just waiting for the right card to come along.  I added some ribbon and gems across the diagonal, a number 3 and a birthday sentiment.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  My apologies if I have not been round to comment very frequently.  Hopefully I will get round to do some commenting this weekend.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Dragonfly Dreams - For the boys
Hobbycutz - CAS
Robyns Fetish - Square cards
Artistic Inspirations - Anything goes

Cabbage Rose

Hi Folks
I bet I caught you by surprise posting this early in the day.  Had a bit of time last night so decided to schedule this post.  Really must try and get into the habit of doing this but that would mean I would have to be a bit more organised lol.

Anyway, todays card share is made using elements from one of the projects in the Create It magazine available from Kraftyhands.  This is a great magazine and contains 10 card projects with sketches, step by step photo instructions, hints and tips and featured techniques.  Included is an interactive CD-Rom with all the printable files for each project.

I printed out all the elements for this project and then just free styled and did my own thing.  Of course, you can make up the project as it is in the magazine if you wish.

I went for a bit of a distressed feel and went around the edges of the papers with my distress tool and some distress inks.  The only additions I made were the resin flowers and some pearls.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I can't promise an early morning post tomorrow but I will try lol.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Crafty Calendar - Things with wings
Little Claires - Lots of layers
Polka Doodles - Springtime
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards - Spring
Bunny Zoes - Distress

Something A Little Different

Hi Folks
Only one more working day and then it will be the weekend.  A busy one too as my daughter will be getting packed ready to go to Magalluf to work for the summer.  She is going out on Saturday night clubbing with all her friends so we have planned lunch out on Sunday with all the family.

Today's crafty share is something a little different for me.  I found this little MDF tray and containers in my local craft shop.  So I decided to decorate it up and put it in my craft room for holding my scoring tools etc.

I started out by painting all the pieces with some very light pink acrylic paint.  For the containers I tore up some decopatch papers and stuck them randomly over using decopatch glue.  I did a couple of layers to make sure the containers were all covered.  I used some black decorative border strips that I had in my stash for around the top of the containers and around the base.  I added a flower I made to the centre of the middle container and some purple glittered butterflies to the outer containers.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Crafty Ribbons - Anything but a card
CRAFT - Not a card
Butterfly Challenge - Glamorous butterflies

A Celebration

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  A quick post from me tonight but I wanted to share our lovely news with you all.  Our eldest daughter and her boyfriend have got engaged.  They are hoping to get married in June 2015 so I will be busy with invites and everything for them.  We are so thrilled for them as they are such a lovely couple together.

We did know that Gary was going to propose as he came to see me and hubby last week to ask our permission.  He is so sweet and such a traditional guy.
Over the weekend I made this card for them as we knew she would say yes.

I used a sizziz die for the lacy panel.  I kept the colour scheme to white and purple.  The backing paper is from my stash box but I don't know who it is by.  I have had it for months.  I kept the embellishments quite simple and used peel offs for the sentiment.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Hi Folks
Hope you have all had a good weekend.  We have had a very relaxed one and I can't believe it is all over and we are back to work tomorrow.

Over the last couple of days I have been having a play with the new CD 'What A Hoot' that is being launched by Kraftyhands on May 5th.  The CD is available to order from here and you are not going to want to miss out on this one.  You can also see a video walkthrough on You Tube giving details of all the lovely goodies on this CD.

Here is one of my sample cards that I have made.

There are some lovely shaped owl cards on the CD and I decided to use the shaped card and make it into an easel card.  My Scan N Cut made the cutting out easy.  The papers on the base and the sentiment are also from the CD.  The only addition from my stash are the mirror card flourishes.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Enjoy the rest of your Easter weekend and will be back soon.

Baby Boy

Hi Folks
I have had a lovely day today.  Went shopping with my two daughters this morning.  My youngest daughter is going to Magalluf next week to work during the summer before she starts her midwife training in September.  So we went to get her some last minutes bits that she needs to take with her.  It is going to be quiet without her for four months but I am sure she will enjoy herself.  I also managed to get into my crafty room this afternoon for a little play.

Today I would like to share a card that my sister asked me to make for a friend who is having a baby.

The images for this card came from a very old Making Cards Special Occasions magazine.  Think I must have had it for about three years.  The images were all matted onto light green card and then edged with stardust stickles.  The gingham background paper is from Wild Rose Studio.  I punched out some little flowers  and added a blue bow and pearl heart.

Thanks for popping by and hope you all have a good Easter break.

The Stash Raid Continues

Hi Folks
Don't know about you but I have felt a little cold today.  The sun decided to put in a short appearance this morning but this afternoon has been very overcast and grey.  Obviously getting ready for the Easter bank holiday weekend lol.

As I have mentioned before I am trying to use up some old stash in my crafty room.  Today's card was made using a Hunkydory free kit that came with a crafting magazine - possibly Cardmaking and Papercraft - many weeks and months ago.

I decided to go for an easel card design.  The decoupage image and papers are all from the kit.  I added my own sentiment, some pearl flourishes and 3d butterfly stickers.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I am now off work until Tuesday so hoping to get some crafting in.  I have been asked to do some wedding invitation samples for a possible order.  The customer concerned would like a square pocketfold invite.  Never done one of these before so need to do some research.  Wish me luck.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Monochrome with Crafting Musketeers

Hi Folks
This is my second post for today.  I am here to bring you some inspiration for our current monthly challenge over at Crafting Musketeers.  Our theme for this month is
Monochrome
You can create anything you like as long as you follow the challenge theme.  Our sponsor for this month is Funky Hand and the winner will receive a £10 voucher to spend on their website.

I have used a set from Funky Hand called Steam Funk for my inspiration project.

Now I have seen these little pop up box cards popping up - ha ha - all over blogland so thought I would have a go.  I didn't follow any particular instructions.  I just grabbed a piece of A4 card and played around with some measurements until I was happy.  The papers and sentiment are all from the paper set from Funky Hand.  Once I had decorated the outstide of the box I attacked my flower stash and butterfly punch for the internal decorations.

Here is another view.

Thanks for popping by and don't forget to get your entries in for the Crafting Musketeers challenge.
Apologies for the quality of the photos.  Just couldn't seem to get a really good shot lol.

Ice Cream Colours at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Well, Wednesday has come round again and today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Use Ice Cream Colours

We have two great sponsors joining us this week

Here is my inspiration project using an image from Stitchy Bears.

This is such a cute image and reminded me of best friends enjoying a day out together.  I coloured the image with promarkers and fussy cut out.  The background is an embossalicious embossing folder and I cut the grass on my Brother Scan and Cut.  The parasol is a Marianne die and the two sentiments were in my stash box.  I think you can guess that my ice cream colours were strawberry and mint.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for all the details.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Imagination Crafts Inspiration

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  After a busy weekend I managed to get in my crafty room yesterday and have a little play.  It's back to work today but a short week as our office is closed on Good Friday.  Do do love long weekends lol.

Today I would like to share a little inspiration and tutorial for our Anything Goes challenge over at Imagination Crafts.

I love using stencils and sparkle medium so I am going to show you how you can create a lovely project with minimum effort.  The sparkle medium really does have the wow factor but is so easy to use.

Are you ready?  Then I will begin.

1.  I used the Ivy Branch panel stencil and Golden Pine sparkle medium onto white card.  Set aside to dry.

2. On a piece of beige paper I used one of the small leaf stamps from the Clematis decoupage stamp set to stamp randomly around the edges.  I used bundled sage distress ink.

3.  The background was then matted onto black card and then onto a card blank.  I also stamped a sentiment using bundled sage distress ink and matted this onto black card.

4. Once the sparkle medium was dry I used bundled sage distress ink to soften the edges and then matted onto black card.

5.  The image was placed centrally onto the prepared background.

6.  I finished off by adding a bow, the sentiment, flowers and gems.

Thanks for popping by and hope this inspires you to have a go with stencils and sparkle medium.  It is so easy to do and creates a great effect.  Just pop over to Imagination Crafts and check out all the fab products they have.
Why not have a go and enter our challenge, you could win a £40 voucher to spend at Imagination Crafts.

My new stash

Hi Folks
A bit of a late post for me but we have been over to my daughter's and her boyfriend's for dinner this evening.  We have had a lovely evening and she cooked us a lovely meal.  Obviously, I have taught her well lol.

As you know I went to Ally Pally on Saturday with my Mum.  I thought I would share a few piccies of my new crafty stash.

These are my basic items that I had to get.  Not very exciting but we all need ink, double sided tape and glue gel.

I got some new paper pads from Kraftyhands, stencils and silkies from Imagination Crafts and some embellishments and silicone moulds for use with my melt pot.

Finally, I bought quite a few MDF bits and pieces to have a go at.  My youngest daughter has already claimed the birdcage for her bedroom when it is done.

Just got to find some time now to have a good play.

New Papers from Kraftyhands

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  I had a good time yesterday at Ally Pally.  It was lovely as I managed to meet Nicky (one of my fellow teamies on Imagination Crafts) and also met up with Marianne, one of my lovely blogging buddies.  Of course, I had to buy a few crafting goodies while I was there lol.  I will try and post some piccies tomorrow.

Today I have been having a play with some new 12 x 12 papers from Kraftyhands.  There are five new paper sets which will be available on the website tomorrow.  Each paper stack will be sold in packs of 12 for £12.50.  They are all printed on 190gsm cardstock and the quality and colours are simply stunning.

I have used one of the paper sets called 'Man About Town' for my card.

I chose the paper that I wanted to use and added some gilding flakes around the edge for a more vintage feel.  This was then matted onto brown coredinations cardstock.  The topper is a die cut from the Man About Town range at Kraftyhands.  I added some squares of cordinations that I tore and then put through my ribbler.  The Happy Birthday sentiment was cut on my Scan N Cut machine.  For embellishments I added some wooden cogs from Hobbycutz and some card candi.

Here is a look at the Man About Town paper stack.  A great variety of papers that are just perfect for male and vintage creations.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Off now to do some commenting and catching up.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

For a Special Lady

Hi Folks
Friday at last.  It has been a long week this week struggling with a cold and sore throat.  I am feeling much better now though and looking forward to my trip to Ally Pally tomorrow.  I have a little list of items to look for but I am sure a lot more will make their way into my shopping bag lol.

Today I want to share a card that I have made using Angelica and Friends papercraft collection from Crafters Companion.  I am also going to be entering this the Crafters Companion monthly challenge 'Floral' which is now over on Facebook.

The image and backing paper and little corners are from the papercraft collection.  I matted the image onto a doily and the backing paper onto silver mirror card.  The flowers have been made using a Die'sire quilling flower die 'Blissful flower'.  I have made them out of coloured vellum and have added a pearl centre.  They are quite delicate.  The sentiment was from my stash and has been matted onto silver card.  The final addition was some blue ribbon and a bow.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think  I do love reading all your comments.  Will hopefully be back on Sunday with a photo of my new crafty stash.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Imagination Crafts News

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  I am feeling a bit better today from my cold.  I still sound very croaky but had a better nights sleep.  Hopefully by the time Saturday comes I will be much better for my trip to Ally Pally.

I just wanted to pop by and share with you the news that Imagination Crafts will be on Create and Craft TV for a couple of shows.  Their first show will be this evening (Thursday 10th) at 9.00pm and their second show is tomorrow (Friday 11th) at 9.00am.  Looking forward to seeing the shows and I know Sue will be brilliant at demonstrating as always.  Hope some of you will be able to tune in or record it.

Here is a card I made using products from Imagination Crafts.

I used the Alium stencil and sparkle medium onto black glossy card for this one.  The backing paper is from Papermania as is the little matching bow.  Some pearls in each corner and a sentiment completed the card.
Very quick and easy to do but sparkle medium does have the wow factor and you don't need too much by way of embellishments.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
