Hi Folks
Welcome to all my crafty friends and followers. Another week has flown by and today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Guys and Girls
You can create any project you like as long as it fits the challenge theme.

We have two fab sponsors for this challenge:

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges to enter your creation.  Don't forget to check out the inspiration from my fab teamies.

Happy Birthday with Hunkydory

Hi Folks
Finally managed to find some crafty time today after a busy weekend.  We went out for a meal on Saturday to celebrate my Brother-In-Laws birthday and then a trip to London on Sunday to see The Lion King.  What an amazing show and I loved every minute of it.  Another busy weekend coming up as I celebrate my big birthday.  My apologies if my commenting slips a bit this week.

My card share for tonight is one I made using a free Hunkydory kit, Floral Enchantment, that was in Cardmaking and Papercraft a little while ago.

The backing paper, image, die cut frame and sentiment were all in the kit.  I added some ribbon, bow, dazzler and gems.  I also went around all the leaves on the backing paper and glittered them using some Diamond Sparkles.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I love reading all your comments.

I will hopefully be back with a card later but just wanted to share some exciting news from Kraftyhands.  The guys from Kraftyhands are launching a new magazine.

The Birthday Celebrations Begin.....

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend.
I had the most wonderful surprise last night thanks to my two wonderful daughters and hubby.  They presented me with an envelope last night and when I opened it there was a ticket inside to see The Lion King at The Lyceum Theatre in London.  I have wanted to see this show for the longest time so they are taking me on Sunday as a treat for my 50th birthday.  I feel very blessed and loved to have such a wonderful family.  Thanks guys, you are the best.

Now onto my card share for tonight.  I have quite a few cards stacked up on my computer to show you so just decided to go with the first one in the folder.

This was made using the Femme Fatale CD from Kraftyhands.  This is a gorgeous CD with some beautiful images and papers.  Everything on the card is from the CD apart from the metal corners, ribbon and punched butterflies.  I did add some stickles around the image for a bit of sparkle.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

Hi Everyone
Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Lots of Layers

We have a wonderful sponsor this week by way of Pink Gem Designs.  All of the design team were able to choose an image to work with.

Here is what I came up with using the Beer Monster image.

I decided that I needed to increase my stock of male cards and this image is just perfect.  Went for a bit of a monotone theme but using kraft card for the matting.  I rounded all the corners using my corner punch.  Some faux stitching was added to the image and the sentiment.  The papers are all from Papermania and for embellishements I just added some ribbon and card candi.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges to enter.  Don't forget to check out the lovely creations from my talented teamies too.

The Crafting Cafe

Hi Everyone
Just popping by today to share some inspirationn for our current challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.  The theme for our February challenge is:
Embossing
This can be dry or heat embossing, we just want to see some embossing.
Our wonderful sponsor for February is WOW Embossing Powders who are offering the winner 6 pots of embossing powder.  What a fab prize.

Here is my inspiration project.

I used a stamp set from Imagination Crafts and white WOW embossing powder for my card.  The main image was stamped onto watercolour card using versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I then coloured the image using distress inks.  The embossing acts as a resist for the distress ink.  The background and sentiment were done using the same technique with the mini stamps from the stamp set.   I matted the image and background onto coredinations cardstock and simply added a little ribbon bow and pearl embellishment.

Thanks for popping by and you still have until the end of the month to enter the challenge.  Just pop over to The Crafting Cafe to submit your entry.  Look our for more inspiration from the design team during the rest of the month.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Tea Cup Zoo Sneak Peak

Hi Folks
Hope you all had a good weekend.  My hubby had a great start to his day this morning when someone drove into the side of his car.  Luckily they were not going too fast so no one was hurt but hubby's back door is now sporting a lovely dent.  Now the hassle of getting it sorted.

On a brighter note the guys from Kraftyhands have been busy with a soon to be released new CD called Tea Cup Zoo.  There are lots of gorgeous images featuring various animals and some gorgeous papers.

Here is a sneak peak of one of the fab images.

For me the images on the CD are quite versatile and many of the images could be used for either male or female cards.  Hence, a male birthday card with this tiger image.  Bows and flowers are not just for the girls lol.  The image and all the papers are from the CD.
Look out for the CD coming soon from Kraftyhands.

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend.  It is bright and sunny here this morning so hopefully no rain today.

I am just popping by to share some inspiration for our current monthly challenge over at Crafting Musketeers.  Our theme for this month is
Butterflies
We are sponsored by the wonderful Dreemees this month.  Check out the fab prize up for grabs over at Crafting Musketeers.

Here is my inspiration project.

I used papers and embellishments from the Time Flies collection from Craftwork Cards for my project.  The background was done by punching three of the design papers into squares using my square punch.  I then inked the edges with some distress ink and mounted onto some coredinations cardstock.  The die cut butterflies were also inked around the edges.  The sentiment was mounted onto coredinations and put in the centre of the card and a little bow added made from ribbon.  For embellishments  I added some card candi which I glittered using stickles, mini flowers and gems.

Thanks for popping by and don't forget to get your butterfly entries in.  Just pop over to Crafting Musketeers to join in the fun.

Time for Play

Hi Folks
Happy Valentines Day to you all.  I have had a busy week at work and am now looking forward to my three day weekend.  So nice not having to work Mondays anymore.

Tonight I managed to sit down and have a good play with my new Brother Scan and Cut machine.  I decided that I was going to make a card using the shapes and designs preloaded into the machine.  Here is what I came up with.

The paper, sentiment and die cut butterfly are from the Time Flies collection from Craftwork Cards.  I cut the shape of the backing paper on the Scan and Cut.  The decorative frame was also cut using my machine along with the butterfly border.  I added some gilding flakes to the border and the frame.  Some inking of the edges, some gems and stickles completed the project.

It is quite basic but pleased with my first full project.  I must say the Scan and Cut has not disappointed so far.  It has cut out everything beautifully and I have found it really easy to use.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Happy Valentines

Hi Folks
Hope you are all okay and had a good weekend.  It is quite cold here today even though we have seen some sunshine.  I hope you are all managing to stay safe and warm.

An exciting day for me today as my 50th birthday pressie arrived from my hubby.  He knew how much I wanted one so he bought me a Brother Scan and Cut machine.  It is not my birthday until the end of the month but as he wanted a bit of peace and quiet he has let me have it early lol.  So looking forward to having a good play.

My card share for today is a card that I was asked to make for Valentines Day.

I used my Martha Stewart punch for the edges of the card.  I do love this hearts around the page punch.  The central image is a free stencil that I got in a magazine several months ago.  I inked through the stencil with distress ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  The image was then mounted onto some cardstock and pearls added.  The little hearts on the background were the hearts that came out of the punching.  I inked them lightly with distress ink, stuck them to my card randomly and then used stickles to add sparkle.  The sentiment was done on my computer and the edges were inked and stickled.  The finishing touch was a red organza bow and large pearl heart.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I do enjoy reading all your comments.  I will hopefully be back in a couple of days to let you know how I am getting on with my new machine.

Hero Arts Birthday

Hi Everyone
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.  The sun is shining here but it is quite windy so not planning on going out anywhere.  I have been watching the winter Olympics and was delighted when team GB won a bronze medal this morning for the womens snowboarding.  Go team GB.

Today I thought I would share a male card with you.

The balloon images are a set of stamps from Hero Arts that I have had for a couple of years.  I stamped the images using distress ink.  When the ink was dry I then went over with various shades of distress ink to create the background.  I cut out the images and mounted onto paper from Papermania (chronology paper collection).  The blue cogs backing paper is from the same collection.  I inked around the edges and matted onto some brown card.  The birthday sentiment is from Craftwork cards and the cogs are a combination of peel offs and an all occasion die set that I got from Robert Addams.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Please feel free to leave a comment as I love reading them.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Spring Flowers

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Everyone
Well I treated myself to an early birthday present yesterday and bought myself a melt pot.  I have wanted one for several months and my local craft shop has just got a couple in.  So of course, I had to have one.  I think you can all guess what I will be doing at the weekend lol.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Something Old, Something New
You can create anything you like to enter the challenge.

We have two great sponsors this week:
The Paper Shelter - prize of a $20 gift certificate
Fred She Said - prize of a $15 gift certificate

Here is my inspiration project using Hearts and Roses image from Fred She Said.

This came as a precoloured image and also came in various colour ways.  I decided to go for the gorgeous lavender.  I printed the image three times to enable me to layer up the roses.  I also went round the edges of the heart with stickles.  To make the card blank I used one of my favourite Martha Stewart punches.  The gold glittered background is sparkle medium from Imagination Crafts through a stencil.  The edges were inked with distress ink.  I embossed a panel from white card using my trellis embossing folder and coloured it using distress inks.  For embellishments I used ribbon, a pearl heart and some heart gems.
The digi image is my something new and everything else is something old.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges to enter.  Don't forget to check out the creations from my fab teamies.

Imagination Crafts, Exciting News

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and have had a good start to your week.

I wanted to pop by and share with you the news that Imagination Crafts will be appearing on Create and Craft on Thursday 6th February at 2.00pm.  Sue will be demonstrating their fabulous products.  I just love working with their sparkle medium, stencils and stamps.  I know Sue will be great and it will be a fab show.  Hope you can tune in.

Today I have made a card using a stamp set from Imagination Crafts.

I decided to try something different after seeing a post over at the Lisa B blog.  I stamped the image with versamark and embossed using white WOW embossing powder.  I then used my distress inks as watercolours and coloured the image.  The white embossing repels the distress ink leaving a nice crisp image.  Using distress ink also gives a lovely soft feel to the colouring.  For the background I used the same stamping and embossing technique using one of the little stamps in the set.  Again, a combination of distress ink colours was used.  I matted and layered onto purple and then yellow card.  The sentiment is also from the stamp set .  I kept the embellishments simple with just a little bow and pearl.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Enjoy the rest of your evening.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Crafty Creations - Seasonal

Lothian Crafts Online Challenges

Hi Folks
Back for my second post of the day.  Weather is really rough here tonight, it is really blowing a gale.  So far no rain but have a feeling it will arrive soon.  Think I'll just stay snuggled up in the warm.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Lothian Crafts Online Challenges.  Our theme for this month is:
Love
(Using Your Dies)

You can create anything that you want just ensure that you include at least one die cut in your project.  The prize for the winner this month is a great die set from Lothian Crafts Online.

Here is my inspiration project.

I used my Anja Large Oval die for the main focal point.  I cut it out of white cardstock and used distress ink to add some colour.  The lettering is also die cut and I added some stickles for a bit of sparkle.  The background is a plain bit of white card that has had some distress ink added for colour.  I also stamped using one of my flourish stamps and distress ink.  For embellishments I used some red ribbon with silver sparkly hearts on it, a red rose, feathers and pins.  I also die cut some butterflies.  The finishing touch was some gems.

Thanks for popping by and would love to see you join in the challenge.  Just pop over to Lothian Crafts Online to submit your entry.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Imagination Crafts Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you have all had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend.  The weather looks as though it is going to be pretty poor this weekend so lots of crafty time planned.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Imagination Crafts Challenges.  Our theme for this month is:
Love Is In The Air

Don't forget that to be eligible to win the prize of a £40 voucher to spend at Imagination Crafts you must use at least 1 Imagination Crafts products on your creation.  All entries are eligible for the honour of being chosen for a Top 3 spot.

Here is my inspiration project using the Flourishes stencil, sparkle medium and glossy card from Imagination Crafts.

I used the gold sparkle medium with the stencil on both gold and red glossy card.  When it was dry I cut some heart shaped apertures out of the red card.  This was then matted onto the gold card ensuring that the pattern of the stencil matched up.  I did leave the red card slightly raised to add dimension.  This was then matted onto white and then gold mirror card.  A rose, bow and some heart shaped gems finished off the card.

Here is another view where you can see the dimension (hopefully).

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  Just pop over to Imagination Crafts Challenges to enter.  Don't forget to check out the gorgeous creations from my teamies.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
