It'a All About the Bling at Crafty Friends

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and looking forward to your weekend.  I have a day of scrapbooking planned today.  It's not something I do very often but a friend of mine has asked me if I would do a scrapbook for her sister's wedding day.  I enjoy a challenge so will be spending the next few Saturdays putting it together.

Anyway, enough chatter as I am here to tell you about the new challenge starting over at Crafty Friends Challenge Blog today.  Our theme is:

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  For more inspiration and to upload your entry just pop over to Crafty Friends.

Just wanted to share this 40th birthday card that my Sister asked me to make.

I used a stamp and papers from Wild Rose Studio for this card.  The little cocktail glasses at the side are also part of the stamp set.  Wanted to keep it quite simple and classy.  I will let you decide if I have achieved that lol.

The hen weekend that I have just been on was great fun.  I haven't laughed so much for a long time.  We stayed in this gorgeous Beach House at Mundesley in Norfolk.  Here are a few pictures.

The beach house was so gorgeous and tastefully decorated.  It sleeps up to 14 people and there is so much room.  It also has a sauna and a hot tub.  We did afternoon tea when we arrived on the Friday and on the Saturday night a company called Chef 2 Dine 4 came in and cooked and served our evening meal.  A great weekend was had by all.  We even had a visit on Saturday afternoon by a group of drunken cricketeers.  They were passing by in their coach and saw our mate Roger in the window and decided to pop in.  Very unexpected but all added to the fun.

Thanks for popping by.

Guest Designer at Lexis Creations

Hi Folks
Hope you all had a good weekend.  If all has gone to plan this is my last scheduled post as I should be travelling back from a hen weekend when this goes live.

A little while ago I was delighted to win a guest design spot over at Lexis Creations.  It is always a privilege being asked to guest design and this is no exception.  Thank you very much for the opportunity.  The challenge goes live today and the theme of the challenge is:
Summer Holidays

Here is my creation for the challenge using a fun image from Fairy Dust Crafts called Summer Bliss.

I coloured the image using my promarkers.  The papers were from my scraps box which is still full to the brim lol.  For the matting and layering I used some lovely yellow card and the sentiment was a freebie in a magazine many moons ago.  I added some swirly die cuts and a cute fabric flower from Papermania.

Thanks for popping by and hope you will join in the challenge.  Just pop by Lexis Creations and you too could be selected as the next guest designer.

Summertime at Corrosive Challenges

This is my second scheduled post for today, hopefully.

A new challenge starts today over at Corrosive Challenges.  Our theme for this week is
Summertime

Now this sadly is my last challenge as part of the design team over at Corrosive Challenges.  I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team but feel that now is the right time to move onto pastures new.  Thank you so much for letting me be part of such a great team.

Anyway, here is my inspiration project for this challenge using an image from our sponsor, Inky Impressions.

The image is called Fairy sitting on clothespin and she is such a cutie.  I coloured her using my trust promarkers and added some distress ink and sparkle to the edges.  The papers were from my scraps box and teamed them up with some ribbon, roses, punched butterflies and a lovely metal butterfly.

Thanks for popping by and for more inspiration just pop over to Corrosive Challenges.

Hobbycutz Challenges

Morning Folks
This is another scheduled post as still away on a hen weekend.  We have gone to a lovely beach house near the coast.  Not sure that the sun will shine but we will enjoy it anyway.  The beach house comes complete with a sauna and hot tub so good times ahead.  Better not drink too much before getting in the hot tub though lol.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Hobbycutz Challenges.  Our theme for this fortnight is:
Anything with an H

You are free to interpret this any way you wish.

Here is my inspiration project using an image from our sponsor Kenny K.

The image is called Girl Soldier and I had great fun colouring her in using my promarkers.  The papers were some freebies from a magazine that I have had at least a year.  I used this lovely Hobbycutz fence behind the image.  Have you guessed my items beginning with H yet?   Well, how about HERO and HOBBYCUTZ product.

Thanks for popping by and  for more inspiration just pop over to Hobbycutz Challenges.

A new challenge starts today over at A Gem Of A Challenge.  Our theme this week is:

Male Birthday Card

and here is what I created for the challenge.

The design team have been busy creating some lovely inspiration projects for you.

For my project I used a super image from Crafty Sentiments.  I used my favourite colour purple to create a real girly card.  Lots of swirls on the background paper and also some embossed swirls on the butterfly.  The flower is my cornflower die from Tonic.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.

Day 19 at The Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and your week is going well.  It is all go here as I am away this weekend from Friday to Monday on a hen weekend.  So my apologies for not getting round to commenting on all your wonderful blogs.  Hopefully when I get back on Monday things will settle down and I will have a bit more spare time.

Today I am here with a reminder about the current monthly challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.  Our theme this month is
Here Come The Boys

Our sponsor for the challenge is Delicious Doodles and I have used one of their fab images for my inspiration project.

For the image itself I just printed it onto white card and then used distress ink to colour the background.  For the main background of the card I used versamark to stamp through a cog stencil and then added mica powder.  It has a real nice sheen to it.  I made the rosette myself out of ribbon and a brad.

Thanks for popping by.  You have till the end of the month to enter the challenge so what are you waiting for.  Head on over to The Crafting Cafe and check out the action.

Dream Valley Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are well and having a good weekend.  I decided that this morning was the perfect time to tackle the cupboard that stores my daughters shoes.  They were just thrown into a couple of large plastic boxes and spilling out everywhere.  So we went and bought some shelving units for them to keep all their shoes on.  So much tidier and much easier to get at the shoes.  Don't know about you but I get a real feeling of satisfaction when tackling a job like decluttering and organising.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Dream Valley.  Sadly, this is my last project as part of the design team.  Dream Valley was the first design team I joined and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with them.  But I feel that now is the right time to move onto pastures new.  Thank you Dream Valley for having me on your team and for believing in me in the first place.

Now for this fortnight's challenge our theme is:
Fathers Day/Male

For my project I created four central panels by stamping onto kraft card with two different Papermania stamps that I have.  The Fathers Day stamp is from Wild Rose Studio.  I added some ribbon across the centre and some faux stitching.  Another simple card but very effective.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  For full details of the challenge and to upload your entry just pop over to Dream Valley.  While you're over there check out the inspiration from the rest of the design team.

For Dad

Hi Folks
Well, it's been a busy week at work but the weekend has finally arrived.  Going to have to get some crafty time in this weekend as next weekend I am away on a hen weekend from Friday till Monday.  So looking forward to it.  There are 14 of us going and we have rented out this super beach house at Norfolk.  It is right opposite the beach and has a hot tub and sauna as well.  Lots of girly pampering and drinking me thinks lol.

Anyway just wanted to pop by with a little simple card that I have done for Fathers Day.

I used one of the little Fizzy Moon stamps.  I coloured with promarkers and added some glossy accents to the froth of the beer before cutting out and mounting onto some card.  The button was an old one and I gave it the decopatch treatment.  A bit of twine and some faux stitching finished the card.
Simple but effective.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  My apologies in advance if I don't get round to doing a lot of commenting this week.  Lots of things to do before I go away next weekend.

Vintage Amelia

Morning Folks
Hope you are all having a good week.
Just popping by to share a quick card that I made last night using one of the gorgeous vintage images from Pink Gem Designs.

The image is Amelia and I teamed her up with some vintage papers which are also available from Pink Gem. I wanted a vintagy look so decided to keep the image quite subtle.  I used some distress ink to add an aged look to the image die.  I then used chalks to give some slight colour to the image.  Think it worked quite well.    Didn't want to go overboard on the embellishments so just added some lace, some flowers, a sentiment and a few pearls.

Thanks for popping by and would love to hear what you think.

Corrosive Challenges - Animal Antics

Hi Folks
Been a bit busy round here this morning.  My youngest daughter and her best friend are off the Majorca on their holidays this afternoon.  The holiday is a pressie from hubby and I for her birthday in August and also for successfully completing four years at university.  She hasn't had her overall results yet but from individual module results she is definitely on target for a pass.  We are so proud of her, she had worked really hard over the last four weeks and definitely deserves a holiday.

Today also sees the start of a new challenge over at Corrosive Challenges.  Our theme for this fortnight is:
Animal Antics

Our sponsor for this challenge is the wonderful QKR Stampede.

I used this lovely image from our sponsor called Party Cat.  I used my trusty promarkers to colour him in and edged around the edge of the diecut with some distress ink.  I had this fab paper from Papemania in my stash so went with the bright orange theme.

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Hobbycutz Challenges.  Our theme for this fortnight is:
Fathers Day/Masculine

We have two great sponsors this time around - Fairy Dust Crafts and Iva Nova Chest.  Just pop over to the challenge blog for full details of the prizes on offer and to enter the challenge.

Now for my inspiration project this week I have done something a bit different - an altered box.

This box started out as a plain wooden box available from Hobbycutz.  I painted it with a light coat of acrylic paint and sanded it back to give an aged look.  I then added gilded flakes around the edges.  The little character and the pirate mat are from one of our sponsors Fairy Dust Crafts.  Some metal corners, gems and peel off letters completed the top of the box.

For the sides of the box I added some more gilding flakes, some ribbon and gems.
I thought that this would make an ideal gift box for a Fathers Day gift.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creation.  For more inspiration check out the awesome work of my teamies over at Hobbycutz Challenges.

A Gem of a Challenge - Emboss It

Hi Everyone
Yippee, it's Saturday and two whole days without work.  I do love weekends.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge.  Our theme for this week (chosen by me) is:
Emboss It
Just use embossing somewhere on your project.  This could be dry embossing or heat embossing, whatever you want.

Our prize for the winner is....
2 individual digi images
(no sets, personalised watermarks, sentiment sets)
of the winners choice from Pink Gem Designs.

I used the image Andy with Guitar for my project.  I used the pre-coloured image which I find so useful for quick cards.  For the background I used a stencil of the guitar and music notes.  I used a resist technique using heat embossing and distress inks.  The background was then matted onto some black card an patterned paper from my stash.  I did lightly ink the edges of the patterned paper.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  For more inspiration from my fab teamies just pop over to AGOAC.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Scrapbooking Queen - Anything goes

Happy, Happy News

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well and enjoying your Friday.  A nice weekend coming up which promises to be nice and sunny, what more could you ask for.

Just wanted to pop by to share my happy news with you.  I have been invited by the lovely Linda Simpson to join the design team on the Imagination Crafts Challenge Blog.  I am so thrilled to be part of the team working with some beautiful products from Imagination Crafts.  Our challenges will start on July 1st so why not pop over to the challenge blog and become a follower so you don't miss it.  Inspiration Crafts also have their own blog here with lots of ideas and inspiration.

Here is a card I made using Inspiration Crafts products.

Imagination Crafts products

I stamped the image onto white card and cut it out using my Spellbinders Die 'Marvellous Squares'.  I added some distress ink and a bit of colour to the flowers and leaves.  For the dragonflies the image was stamped onto acetate and Sparkle Medium was used to create the sparkle.  The background was done by using distress ink to colour some white card.  I then stamped the little dragonfly stamp (that comes with the set) randomly using Versamark and gold Mica powder was added to the stamping.
Some ribbon, gems and flowers from my stash finished the card off.

Thanks for popping by and hope you will all come and join us on July 1st.

Morning Everyone
Well, it's another lovely sunny morning here today.  Let's hope they have the air conditioning on at work lol.
