Flower Power

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  Actually saw some sunshine today and the temperature was certainly on the up.  Let's hope this cold and chilly spell is over for a while.
I did spend some time in my crafty room today.  I am busy trying to get ahead on my DT projects as my crafty room is going to be out of action from next Thursday for a week.  We are doing some decorating upstairs and having new carpets fitted in the bedroom.  So all of my crafty stuff is having to be boxed up and packed away for a week while the work takes place.  Will certainly be a pain not being able to craft for a week.  But on the up side I will be able to have a good sort out and finally arrange things how I want them.  Will try and remember to take some pics of the before and after.

Anyway, I did get this card made today which is another request from my sister.

For the image panel I used a lovely stamp from Little Claires.  I stamped it several times off the page to fill the panel.  I then coloured with promarkers and added some stickle dots for a bit of bling.  The papers were all in my scraps box so can't tell you who they are from.  I matted onto some purple bazill card.  Used a martha stewart punch for the bottom border and a spellbinder die for the sentiment tag.  A purple ribbon and bow finished the card along with some buttons.

Thanks for popping by and welcome to my new followers.  I hope you enjoy your visits to my blog.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Off to have a blogging session now.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Little Claires - use sketch and flowers
Cards Galore - Anything goes

Let's Emboss It

Another week has flown by and today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.
Our theme for this week is 'Embossing - Wet or Dry'.  We welcome any creations just as long as there is some embossing present.  Don't forget to let us know what is embossed if it is not obvious.

We have two sponsors for you this week.
Saturated Canary with the winner receiving two free digi images of their choice and
Stampin Dragon with the winner receiving 5 free digis of their choice.

All of the design team were able to use images from our sponsors and I have used this fab image from Saturated Canary.  My embossing is the pink panel behind the image which has been done using my dotty embossing folder on coredinations cardstock.  The ribbon is a new purchase from Crafty Ribbons.  It is a wide ribbon but just love the dots on it.  The flowers were created using some Tonic punches that I have.

For more inspiration and to upload your entries just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.

Happy Birthday Wellington

Well I am now fed up with the snow.  It was okay over the weekend when I didn't have to go anywhere but a totally different story when work is calling.  An hour and a half to drive what is normally a 20 minute journey to work.  Hopefully things will improve tomorrow as we have had no more snow here today.  My daughter has caused me a bit of a worry as this is her first bad batch of snow since she passed her driving test.  But she has coped really well and it doesn't appear to have knocked her confidence any or made her nervous.  Oh the joys of being a Mum lol.

I have a male card to share with you today.  It is my brother-in-laws birthday at the end of February and this card is for my daughters to give to him.

I recently purchased these lovely toppers and papers.  They are the Wellington range from Docrafts.  They are just perfect for male cards.  I did a lot of distressing and added some twine and buttons as embellishments.  This image is just perfect for my BIL as he does like a good glass of wine.  A nice vintage feel to it too.

Thanks for popping by and welcome to my new followers too.  Your support and encouragement are much appreciated.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Sketch Saturday - use sketch

Put A Pin In It

Just popping by to let you all know about the new challenge that is starting today over at Corrosive Challenges.
Our theme for this challenge is called 'Put a Pin In It'.  We would like you to use some sort of pin in your project AND/OR use this fab photo from Pinterest as inspiration.

Our sponsor for this challenge is A & T Digital Designs.  They have some wonderful images and the design team were lucky enough to be able to use some of their images on our projects.

We are also welcoming some new design team members to our little family.  So why not pop over to Corrosive Challenges and give them all a great welcome.  You can also check out full details of the challenge and enter your projects.

I used this gorgeous image called Willy and Mia.  I seem to be going through a bit of a clean and simple phase at the moment.  I simply matted onto some red card and then onto white card which I embossed.  Added some ribbons, a flower, a couple of pins and a pearl heart and job done.

Unfortunately, the photo looks a bit dark but the colour is so vibrant in real life.  Really looking forward to seeing all your creations.

Simple Valentines

Hope you are all well on this Friday evening.  I am finally feeling as though my cold is trying to wave goodbye.  I actually managed a reasonable night's sleep last night.  As we have been hit by the snow today I am planning a stay at home weekend.  If all goes to plan I will be spending tomorrow in my pyjamas all day. Don't you just love pyjama days, well, I do anyway lol.

As Valentines Day is approaching I thought I had better make a start as I have a few birthdays in February too.  This card is for my sister to give to her husband.  Didn't want something too over the top and full of embellishments.  I decided to try something clean and simple.  I got the idea for the heart from a card making magazine that I bought recently.

I made a 3d heart by cutting out five heart shapes from red card. These were then folded in half, glued together and attached to a square of white card.  I then went around the heart using a black pen to do some faux stitching.  The rest of the card was very straightforward using black card and red glitter card for the matting.  The sentiment was stamped using a sentiment that I have had for ages.  I added some ribbon from Crafty Ribbons and a pearl heart and some heart gems.

Here is another angle of the heart.

I really like the way this turned out even though I was so tempted to add more embellishments.  Clean and simple does not come easy to me lol.

Thanks for popping by and hope you all have a good weekend.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Cards Galore - Anything goes

Bunny Zoes - Anything goes
Stamp N Doodle - Anything goes

It's All About The Bears

Another week has gone by and it's time for a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this challenge is Teddy Bears.  So feel free to upload any project that contains a teddy bear.

We are joined this week by a fab sponsor.

Stamp Fairy are generously offering our winner a $10 gift certificate to spend in their store.

All of the design team were given some images to work with from Stamp Fairy.

This little fella is so cute.  I coloured him in using promarkers and prisma pencils.  I tried to give a feeling of fur and texture when I coloured him in.  Not really sure it came out how I wanted.  The papers are from a new paper stack I bought recently.  I added some ribbon across the centre and a little pearl heart which was purchased from Lisa B Designs (I won a gift voucher in their December challenge - thanks Lisa B).  The sentiment is also from Stamp Fairy.

For more inspiration and to upload your entry just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Looking forward to seeing all your cute creations and teddy bears.

A Little Bit of Steampunk?

Evening Folks
Well I am still feeling under the weather with this cold.  Have had the last couple of days off work as just did not feel up to it but am going back tomorrow.  This cold has really knocked the wind out of my sails.  It really does not help with all the cold weather we are having at the moment.  We did have some snow yesterday in our part of the country but most of that has melted away today.  I must be feeling pretty low as I have missed going to my monthly card making workshop tonight.  My Mum has gone so she will be able to fill me in on what I have missed.

Anyway, todays card share is one I have made using the new Papermania Chronology collection.  They are simply perfect for doing vintage and steampunk themed cards.  I think I have captured steampunk but will let you decide.

I used the sketch over at Here Come The Boys as the basis for my card.  The central image is a stamp from the range.  I stamped it onto some of the paper from the paper pack and heat embossed it so it has a nice shine.  Everything has been distressed within an inch of its life lol.  The metal corners and the metal cogs seemed to fit nicely in with the theme.  The sentiment was one of the toppers from the range which I just cut down in size to fit.

Thanks for popping by and would love to hear what you think of my attempt at steampunk.  Very much out of my comfort zone with this one.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Here Come The Boys - use sketch
Cards Galore - Anything goes
Mayzy Art - Anything goes

Inky Impressions - Add a sentiment

Forever Friends Challenge

Today sees the start of a new fortnightly challenge over at Forever Friends.  Wow, this last two weeks has gone by far too quickly.  Our theme for this challenge is 'Use your favourite embellishments'.

We have two fab sponsors for this challenge.

Whoopsi Daisy Digis and

Meljens Designs.

Just pop over to Forever Friends for full details of the great prizes on offer and to upload your entries for the challenge. You can also check out the wonderful creations from the design team.

My favourite embellishments are ribbon, flowers and gems.  I was also fortunate enough to be able to use an image from each of our sponsors for my creations.

I used a Whoopsi Daisy pre coloured image for this card.  Kept it quite simple as I thought the image was just too pretty to overpower with embellishments.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Cards Galore - Anything goes
Lexis Creations - Anything goes
OSAAT - Anything goes
Allsorts - Dies and punches
Bunny Zoes - Anything goes

For my second project I used an image from Meljens.  I treated myself to this Martha Stewart punch around the page punch recently.  I have seen so many cards done using these punches to make a border and wanted to have a go.  I really enjoyed making this and love the effect of the punched edge.  So more Martha Stewart punches are now on my wish list lol.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Natalie and Amy - Your favourite things (ribbon, flowers)
One Crazy Stamper - Anything goes
Disdigidesigns - Try something new
Pretty Little Ribbon - Flowers and ribbon

Little Miss Muffet - Winter birthdays
Totally Papercrafts - Ribbon

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.

Lets Go Shopping

Well the snow hasn't reached our part of the UK yet.  Hopefully it will miss us out.  Just can't be doing with the hassles of battling through snow to get to work.  If I could stay at home until all the snow gone that would be fine but somehow I can't see my boss letting me lol.
I am still struggling with a cold but so is most of the population at the moment.  I have had a quiet weekend ready for a fun packed week at work.

Anyway onto my card share for today.

I recently purchased some pre coloured Kenny K images - for those occasions when a quick card is required or a break from colouring is needed.  I simply matted the image and added some stardust stickles around the edge.  This is a very pink and girly card.  I used kraft card for the matting and some papers from my scraps box.  The ribbon is a recent purchase from crafty ribbons and the flower is also a recent purchase.    Sorry about the brightness of the photo.  I just could not get the settings right for this one.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Cards Galore - Anything goes
Lexis Creations - Anything goes
Card Makin Mamas - Anything goes
Inky Impressions - Add a sentiment
Divas By Design - Anything goes
Crafty Creations - Something new (image, ribbon, flower)
Totally Papercrafts - Ribbon

Thanks for popping by.  Till next time take care.

Floral Birthday

Hi Folks
Well, I have finally come down with a stinking cold.  Was hoping to have avoided it but not to be.  I am also on a training course at work this week so the worst time to get ill.  But only got tomorrow to get through and then it's the weekend.

My card share today is something a bit different for me.  I have actually used one of my flower stamps that I have had for ages.  I bought the stamp from Sir Stampalot in one of their sales last year.

I used the sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.  I coloured the image using my promarkers.  The papers are from Papermania Capsule Collection matted onto coredinations cardstock.  The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons (a recent purchase).  For embellishements I added a simple flower, a pin, some little ladybirds and sentiments.
This card is one my sister asked me to make.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Sunday Sketch and Stamp - use sketch
Cards Galore - Anything goes
Catch the Bug - Anything goes
Totally Gorjuss - Anything goes with ribbon
Robyns Fetish - Anything goes

Thanks for popping by and welcome to my new followers.  It means a lot to me that you like my creations enough to want to follow me.  I am now going for a little wander around blogland.  Don't think I will be too late in my bed tonight.
Take care now.

Anything Goes at Dream Valley

It's time for the first challenge of 2013 over at Dream Valley.  We have decided to make our first challenge a nice easy one for you all - 'Anything Goes'.  I think this will be a popular one.

We have two fab sponsors for this challenge:
Digital Delights by Louby Lou - $5 gift voucher for one lucky winner
Washi Tapes - £30 worth of tape for one lucky winner

I went a bit vintage with this one.  The topper was part of a freebie set from a magazine - sorry, can't remember which magazine as it was some time ago.  The strips on the background is actually some Tim Holtz washi tape.  Simple embellishments buy overall I really liked this card.  Another one for my stock of cards.

I used this sweet image called Lulu and made a New Year card.  The image is coloured with promarkers and I added glamour dust to her dress for lots of sparkle.  All of the items on my card (apart from the image and the lush square buttons) are items that I have had for at least a year.  I have so much stuff that needs using up lol.

A Little Bundle of Joy

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend, whatever you are doing.
My youngest daughter returned to uni this morning.  I dropped her off at the train station with her extremely large and heavy suitcase.  She was a bit concerned about getting it on and off the train due to the weight of it.  However, it appears chivalry is not dead everywhere.  She rang me when she got home and said that some nice gentlemen helped her on and off the train with the case so all was okay.  Of course, the fact that she is young and pretty had nothing to do with it.  I am sure if I (middle aged and a bit chubby) was in the same predicament the gents would coming running to help me lol.  Well, they might.

I popped into Sir Stampalot on the way home as their sale started today.  Of course, a few things that I really needed (honest) ended up in my shopping basket.

I have spent the afternoon in my crafty room having a play.  One of my daughters friends is having a baby girl in March so I decided to make a new baby card for her.  Nothing like being organised and planning ahead.  I am sure it will not last long lol.

As you can see it is very pink and girly with embellishments galore.  Just what I wanted.  Not the best photo in the world I am afraid but it is so grey and gloomy outside.  I really want to get a photo light box but think that will have to wait until my birthday in February.  Some strong hints to hubby required I think.

Anyway, what better to create a new baby card than the fab images over at Pink Gem designs.  I coloured the image with promarkers and did add some sparkle to the little flowers and the pram.  The papers were in a paper pack that I got last year from Ally Pally - full of gorgeous new baby girl papers.  The sentiment is also from Pink Gem.  The ribbons were some new ones from Crafty Ribbons that I bought in their sale recently.  All of the embellishments were from my stash including the cute hand buttons and the teddy button on the bow.

Thanks for popping by and for all your lovely comments.  I do enjoy reading them all.
Now to go round the house and see if my daughter has managed to leave anything behind.  She usually does and I end up having to go to the Post Office with a parcel for her.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
