Happy Christmas Dear Daughter

Evening Folks
Thursday already, this week is flying by.  I'm getting quite excited now as we are going to Manchester this weekend to stay with our youngest daughter who is attending University there.  My eldest daughter and her fiance are also going with us so it will be a real family occasion.  Planning on doing some christmas shopping and will be visiting the traditional christmas market that they have up there.  Can't wait to get my hands on some yummy hot spiced cider.  My daughter assures me it is yummy.

Anyway, I am well on my way with christmas cards and have now started making the more personal ones.  This one is for my youngest daughter (she doesn't look at my blog so I am safe posting it here).

I used this gorgeous image from Wild Rose Studio.  It is one of their precoloured panels and so adorable.  Best of all no colouring to muck up lol.  I used silver mirror card for all the matting and the papers were from various christmas paper packs that I have.  I just love the wooden snowflake that I lovingly attacked with stardust stickles.  I also added some stickles to the flowers at the bottom.  I finished the card with some ribbon and a bow, large pearl embellishment and some card candi in the corners.  The sentiment was done on the computer.

Thanks for popping by and for all the lovely comments you leave.  It is so appreciated.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Whimsy Stamps - Traditional christmas colours
J & C Creations - Floral Delights
Top Tip Tuesday - Kids and teens

Silhouette Birthday

Hi Folks
Hope you are well.  This is my second post for today and this time I have a birthday card for you.  I still have several christmas cards to make but felt in need of a break from them.  So I decided to make a birthday card for my stock.  It is my sister's birthday in January so this may well end up with her.  Nothing like getting ahead lol.  Pity I can't say the same about my christmas shopping!!!

This was quite a quick card to make as the image and the papers were all freebies in a magazine - Making Cards I think.  I matted onto coredinations cardstock and did some distressing of the edges.  I added some lace and ribbon across the centre, some flowers and a sentiment.  Although you can't see it very well I did add some glitter to the image and the flowers.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - use sketch
Cards Galore - Silhouette

Inky Impressions - Make it girly

Thanks for popping by and hopefully will be back tomorrow with another christmas card for you.

Forever Friends

Hi Folks
Well another weekend has passed by and as usual it was not long enough.  Did manage to get some more christmas cards made and even bought a couple of presents.  Yeah, go me lol.
Anyway,  I am here today to let you know about the new challenge starting over at Forever Friends today.  I was lucky enough to be picked as the Forever Friends favourite a few weeks ago and given the opportunity to be a guest designer with them.  Of course I was delighted to say yes.

I used this super decoupage image to create a little christmas card.  I added some glamour dust to his little christmas hat for added sparkle.  I created a little pocket behind the image using glitter paper which contains a little tag with a christmas message on it.  But silly me forgot to take a photo of the tag.  Will take a photo when I get in from work and upload it.

So Thankful

Hi Folks
This is my second post for today  and I am here to tell you about the new weekly challenge starting over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.

We have three fab sponsors for this challenge:
Stitchy Bear Stamps - $10 voucher
Dustin Pike - $10 gift certificate
Digi Darla - 5 digi images of the winners choice

Our theme for this challenge is:

So Thankful

This could be a Thank You card or a Thanksgiving Card or gift.  Whatever takes your fancy as long as it fits with the theme.

I used this cute image from Dustin Pike to make a Thank You card.

The image was coloured with promarkers.  I used lots of matting and layering.  The papers were from a Dovecraft paper pad that I bought last year.  However, I had never used any of it so thought it was about time to remedy that.  The flower is tissue paper with a brad in the centre.  A sentiment from Wild Rose Studio and some pearls and gems finished the card.

With the bench in the imags I wanted it to appear metallic so I used some gilding flakes.  Here is a closer photo which hopefully shows this a bit better.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Christmas Wreath

Evening Folks
Hope you have all had a good Monday.  Work as usual for me but the day went quickly so I can't complain.
Spent a bit of time tonight putting together another christmas card.  This one is another simple one but a bit different.  See what you think.

I used a super stamp set from Woodware called Bubble Wreath.  I stamped out the wreath which is basically just lots of different size circles.  The little fern leaf stamp was also part of the set and I randomly stamped leaves.  Then came the fun part.  I covered all the little circles by using a combination of buttons, pearls, gems and stickles.
The rest of the card I kept quite simple in order to keep the focus on the wreath.

I really liked the way it came out that I decided to make a few more.

As I said, quite quick to do.  So that's another four christmas cards done.

Thanks for popping by and thanks in advance for any comments you wish to leave.  I really enjoy reading them and appreciate your support.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Fashionista - Blue christmas
Joanna Sheen - Cold and frosty
Fussy and Fancy - Feeling blue
One Stop - Monochrome tones
Little Claires - Christmas
The Crafty Pad - Christmas
Kaboodle Doodles - Buttons and bows
Polka Doodles - Square card with a round element (wreath, gems, pearls)

Blue Christmas

Evening Folks
Sorry about this late posting but you know how it is.  Time just seems to have slipped away from me tonight.
My hubby has gone out to see a band at our local so I have the TV remote and the house to myself.  Not very often that happens.  A chance to sit in my pyjamas and watch mindless TV while doing some blogging.

I am now well and truly getting on with my christmas crafting and today is a card that I have done for one of my nephews.

As you can see I have done another easel card.  I decided to use my favourite colour combo for christmas cards - blue and silver.  The image is a stamp from the Mulberry range by Crafters Companion.  The papers were also from Crafters Companion and were some freebies that I got in a craft magazine.  Everything is matted onto silver mirror card.  I added a large die cut snowflake which is cut from glitter card (white and blue).  I love these little trees and blinged them up using some gems.

Thanks for popping by and hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Crafters Companion - Favourite colour combo (blue and silver for christmas)

Birthday Easel

Evening Folks
Hope you are all well.  So glad it is the weekend.  Had a busy week with work so looking forward to a couple of days rest and relaxation.
I plan on cracking on with some christmas cards tomorrow.  Must really start some christmas shopping too.  I feel like I am so behind but I remember saying that last year lol.  It will all come right in the end.

Anyway, this is a card for my nephews to give their Great Grandma for her birthday in December.  My sister is certainly keeping me busy with orders.

I used some decoupage and papers from the Papermania Lucy Cromwell collection.  I have had this for absolutely ages and this was the appropriate card to use it on.  My spellbinders dies had an outing for the stopper part of the easel.  I just love the lace and pearl trim that I used on top of the pink ribbon.  Really need to get some more of this.

Thanks for popping by and hope you all have a fab weekend.  Welcome to my new followers, I hope you enjoy my blog and I thank you for following me.

Bring out the Gingerbread

Hi Folks
This is my second post for today.
It's time for another weekly challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Must admit these weeks are flying by.
We have three fab sponsors for this weeks challenge:
My Heart Pieces - 3 digi images of the winners choice
The Paper Shelter - $20 gift certificate
Make It Crafty - $15 gift certificate
I think you will agree some fab prizes.  Our challenge theme is everyone's favourite - Anything Goes.

I used a cute Gingerbread image from Make It Crafty for my project.

I decided to do something a bit different for this project so I have made a gift box.  This little box was given to me by one of my daughters.  She received some jewellery in it for her birthday and didn't want the box so I decided to make it into a little box for gingerbread cookies.

I coloured the image with promarkers and cut it out using one of my dies.  I added some glamour dust to the white icing parts and some pearls for the buttons.  I topped the box with some christmas paper and edged with gold glitter paper.  A couple of flower toppers, a bow and sentiment finished the top.

For the sides I covered it with some brown ribbon (can't really see it very well), put some lace over the top and then decorated with some pearls.

Thanks for popping by and hope you will pop over to Penny's and check out the challenge details and the great creations from the rest of the design team.  Looking forward to seeing all your entries.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Folks
It's Wednesday and time for the Dude and Dudettes over at Dude Time Doodles to share their creativity with you.  This week is our freebie challenge and we were given the choice of two fab images to use.
I used Paul Pilgrim and created this little Thanksgiving card in honour of the upcoming Thanksgiving Day in America.

This was quite a simple card to make.  The image was coloured using promarkers and then cut out.  I used an embossing folder to create the white panel and teamed this up with some autumnal colours of patterned paper.  I cut some leaves in fall colours using one of my Spellbinders dies.  A little handwritten sentiment and some card candi in the corners finished the card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Cards for Men - Anything goes
Pixie Dust - Fall colours
Aud Sentiments - Thanks
Disdigidesigns - Fall colours
Card Makin Mamas - Thanksgiving/Thank you

Anyone for Golf

Evening Folks
Hope you are all well.  Looked at the calendar at work today and realised that it is a work colleagues birthday on Thursday.  Instant panic as I knew I didn't have an appropriate card in my stash that I could give him.  So when I got in tonight it was straight up to the crafty room to get to work.

Steve is really into his golf and I have had this super image from Bugaboo for a few months now.  I have only used it once before so thought it deserved another outing.

I kept it really simple as Steve would not appreciate any fancy bits and pieces.  I managed to create this card using papers and card from my scraps box.  I already had the spellbinders die and the card candi.  The ribbon was also offcuts in my ribbon box.  All in all I am quite pleased with the way it came out and think Steve will like the humour.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Cards for Men - Anything goes
Inky Impressions - Birthday
Stampin for the Weekend - All stitched up
Simply Create Too - Use your stash (all using old stash)
Kaboodle Doodles - Use plaid
Anything Goes - Stitching

Thanks for popping by and for all your lovely comments you leave.

Anything Goes at Dream Valley

Hi Folks
This is my second post for today.
Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Dream Valley and is one that I am sure you will all love - Anything Goes.  So looking forward to seeing all your fab entries.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Joanna Sheen and the winner will receive £10 to spend in the online store.

No image used on this one just a lovely sentiment.  The sentiment is a stamp set from Imagination Crafts.  I stamped and embossed it adding a little bit of glitter to the embossing powder.  Looks nice and sparkly in real life.  I used my favourite colour purple in various shades.  The ribbon is a gorgeous shade of purple but for some reason it has come out looking more blue than purple.  I am finding it incredibly difficult now to get good pictures because of the light.  Think I may well have to invest in some sort of photo booth and light.  If anyone has any recommendations just let me know.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
One Crazy Stamper - Anything goes
The Squirrel and the Fox - Flowers, hats or horses
Ribbon Girl - Add sparkle
Penny Black and More - Any die will do
Papertake - Anything goes

Crafty Catz - Anything goes
Hotshot Craft - Butterflies
Sweet Stampin - Anything goes
One Stop - Anything goes
Robyns Fetish - Anything goes

Thanks for popping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Flutter By

Hi Folks
Feeling a little bit delicate today.  Not really sure why but think it may be due to the wine I was forced to drink last night lol.  We had a lovely meal out for my Mother-in-laws birthday but paying the price a little today.  Thankfully my hubby is cooking dinner, a yummy Sunday roast.  That will sort me out.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Corrosive Challenges.  Our fab sponsor for the month of November is A Day for Daisies.  The winner will receive a $12 gift certificate.
Our first challenge for the month of November is 'Flutter By' - use an image with wings.  A nice easy peasy one for you.

I used a fab image from our sponsor for my project.

I am a sucker for a butterfly and just loved this little image.  I decided to make a little wall hanging for my crafty room.  The image is coloured in promarkers and I added lots of glamour dust for sparkle.  Mounted onto some pink card, edged with lace and some yummy ribbon to hang it up with.  The little flowers were made out of card candi.
For more inspiration just pop over to Corrosive Challenges, the design team have all been hard at work.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Michael Powell Christmas

Hi Folks
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  Spent a bit of time in my crafty room today putting inserts and envelopes and boxes with cards that I have made.  I always intend to do them as I go along but that just never happens.  So I just end up with a box full of cards that need packaging up with inserts and envelopes.  But got most of them done so feeling rather good about that.
We are off out for a meal tonight as it is my Mother-in-law's birthday today.  Going to one of our favourite Indian restaurants so all is good.
Just thought I would show you a quick christmas card I have done using one of the Michael Powell urban stamps by Docrafts.

I used a spotlight technique to highlight part of the image.  Quite effective and meant not too much colouring. Although you can't see it very well I sprayed the coloured part with some Spray n Sparkle to give it a nice sparkly sheen.  The background was done by stamping a snowflake image on black card with Versamark and using Mica powder to pick out the image.  I then matted using gold mirror card and added a glittery Happy Christmas sentiment.  A few gems finished it nicely.
I really enjoyed doing this and think a few more with fill out my christmas card box nicely.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Hooked on Craft - Christmas no red or green
One Crazy Stamper - Anything goes
Ribbon Girl - Add sparkle
Kaboodle Doodles - Anything goes

Fall Colours with Dude Time Doodles

Hi Folks
Another week has passed by and it's time for the Dude and Dudettes to come out and share their creativity over at Dude Time Doodles.
Before I launch into this weeks challenge I can reveal that I was the mystery host for the blog hop last week.  I have picked a winner and that is DESIRE FOURIE.  Well done Desire, just pop over to Dude Time Doodles to claim your free digi image.
We have a fab new challenge for you this week and it's quite a topical one at the moment  FALL COLOURS.  So just upload your masculine cards using the beautiful colours of Autumn.

At the moment we have loads of dead leaves flying around our garden and getting rid of them is not one of hubby's favourite jobs.  So I decided to make a little garden survival gift bag using this fab image Leif Blower from Dude Time Doodles.  I used some autumnal coloured papers and die cut loads of leaves to embellish.  I attached a gift tag and hand wrote the contents of the gift bag on it.  It certainly made hubby smile when I showed it to him.

For more fab inspiration pop over to Dude Time Doodles.  The design team have been hard at work again.
Looking forward to seeing all your fab creations.

Forever Friends Christmas

Evening Folks
I will try and keep this short as it is getting a bit late.  I always intend to post early but never quite manage to get there lol.

I used this cute Forever Friends decoupage image to create this christmas card.  I used the sketch over at Forever Friends Fortnightly Challenge.  This was quite a quick and simple card to do.  The four white panels were embossed and matted onto red cardstock.  The decoupage image was mounted onto the same red cardstock.  Used one of my spellbinders dies for the holly in the corners.  Some red ribbon, pearls and a sentiment finished the card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Forever Friends - use sketch
Crafty Ribbons - Christmas
Anything Goes - Anything goes
My Mums Craft Shop - Bold and bright
Divas By Design - Feeling festive
Catch The Bug - Anything goes
The Crafty Pad - Anything goes

Thanks for popping by.
Take care.

Super sparkly Birthday Wishes

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.
I have had a PJ today and spent some time in my crafty room.  Got a couple more cards done but the plan for tomorrow is to have a good go at getting some of my christmas cards done.
Going out tonight with some friends to our local pub to see a band.  Should be a good night but not so sure about my head tomorrow lol.  The eldest daughter has gone to the cinema to see the new James Bond film.  Now I don't know about you but I really can't get excited about a Bond film.  To me they are all the same, good guy, bad guy, good guy wins, end of film lol.

Anyway, here is my offering today.  It is a birthday card that I have done for a birthday coming up in December.  With all the christmas cards I have to do I thought I had better get the December birthdays out of the way.

Now I am quite pleased with myself because apart from the stamp and pearls the rest of the items on this card were made using my old stash.  The stamp is a recent purchase from Imagination Crafts and is one of their decoupage stamps.  I stamped the image onto cardstock and used some distress ink to age it a little.  The dragonflies were then stamped onto acetate and I used the Sparkle Medium from Imagination Crafts to add the glittery sparkle to them.
I made my own background paper by using a small dragonfly stamp that came with the stamp set. I stamped it randomly in versamark and then used Mica powder for a bit of shimmer.  The flower is a Tim Holtz die which was distressed with some ink and then some glitter added.  As you can tell I used several dies on this card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
