Evening Folks
Hope you are all well and had a good week. I do look forward to my weekends but they go by far too quickly. Mind you, this year is passing me by at a rate of knots at the moment. Can't believe it's the first of September tomorrow. Really must make a determined effort to get some christmas cards done. Otherwise I may end up having to go out and buy some lol.
My card share for today is a request from my sister. One of their friends is 40 very soon and she wanted a card making. I know that the card is for a gentleman but my sister didn't really give me any other requirements.
Here is what I came up with.
I used a lovely stamp set from Wild Rose Studio together with their Man About Town papers. I used black glitter card to add some sparkle and some gold mirror card around the outside. The decorative corners are a Cheery Lynn die and also cut out of glitter paper. I used the sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp for the layout.
Hopefully my sister will like it. It's always difficult when you are asked to do a card and not given any ideas about what to do.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Sunday Sketch and Stamp - use sketch
Hooked On Craft - Card for Men
The Stamping Boutique - Anything goes Birthday
Crafty Sentiments - Lets sparkle
LEJ Designs - Anything goes
Simon Says - Anything goes
Stamp N Doodle - A touch of sparkle
Crafts and Me - Birthdays
The Paper Shelter - Layers on layers
Divas By Design - Lets Celebrate
Natalie and Amy - Anything goes
The Squirrel and the Fox - One for the men
Thanks for popping by. As always thanks for your support and for any comments you may leave.
Now I am off to try and get some commenting done. This real life business really does get in the way sometimes.

I used a sweet image from Eye Candie creations and made a little tag. I used various papers from my stash. I added some glitter to the image and lots of pearls and gems. The little sunglasses were from some freebie papers. I cut them out and added some glossy accents to them.

I would like to introduce you to Grilling Gil. Not sure what he has put on that BBQ lol. The image has been coloured in promarkers and mounted onto an easel card. Kept the embellishments fairly simple and I did the sentiment myself using Word.
You should have arrived here from Tammy's blog and your next stop along the chain is Nancy. But don't worry if you get a little lost along the way, our hop is just one big circle. Just don't forget to leave comments with all the dudettes and dude for your chance to win a little prize.

Oh Christmas Tree
Evening Folks
Hope you are all well. It was back to work today after a lovely bank holiday weekend. This working lark really does get in the way of my crafting time lol.
Only four more days and my gorgeous daughter will be home from university. This year has been a work placement year for her so she has not had a full summer holiday as usual. She finishes her work placement on Friday and then is back home for a couple of weeks before she starts her final year. Looking forward to having her home but not so sure about the mess. She is quite neat and tidy when away from home but I think she gets a bit lazy when she is at home. Obviously knows that Mummy will clear up after her lol. Must get her better trained.
Anyway, I did get a card made tonight when I finished work. When I was at Sir Stampalot yesterday I bought a couple of christmas stamps.
This christmas tree stamp from Woodware really lends itself to paper piecing, which is exactly what I did with it. I stamped the image onto white card then several times onto patterned paper. The pieces were then cut out and stuck onto the white image. I added some glitter to the heart on the base and for the holly berries. I mounted the christmas tree image onto some white card that I embossed with a snowflake folder. This was then matted onto red glitter paper. Some cut out corners and gems finished the card.
I really like the way this turned out and it was really quick to do. In fact I made another one using green glitter paper.
I think this would look good in other colour combinations too. Might try a blue and white one next.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Winter Wonderland - Red and Green
Creative Card Crew - Christmas
Crafty Sentiments - Lets sparkle
Thanks for popping by. Take care.

Another male creation
Evening Folks
Hope you are all well.
I have had quite a productive Bank Holiday weekend. The weather has not been terribly good though.
On Saturday we had several thunderstorms and lots of rain. I spent the day catching up on on a few jobs and did get some cards made. Most of them were DT work so can't share at the moment.
On Sunday we had a quiet day. I think both hubby and I needed it as we did go out with some friends on Saturday night. We had a really good night out but overdid it on the drinkies a little bit lol.
Then today me and my Mum went along to Sir Stampalot. They were holding one of their demo days. Love popping along to these as I love watching other people creating. It was also an opportunity to start picking up some of my christmas crafty supplies. Not that I really need any as have lots of stash already. But there are always a few things that leap off the shelves into my basket. While we were at Sir Stampalot my hubby cooked a nice roast dinner for us all. It was yummy. So now I am just ending my extended weekend by doing a little hopping around Blogland.
Anyway, I did get a card done yesterday for my nephews birthday in September. He is going to be 14 which can be quite an awkward age when it comes to making a card.
Here is what I came up with using a super Mo Manning digi image called Paul Typing.
I wanted to do something a bit different with the image so went for an uncoloured look. I printed it onto some coloured paper, distressed and inked the edges and mounted it onto some black cardstock. I then added some faux stitching using a white pen. The papers were from Wild Rose Studio (Man about Town paper pack). The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards I ruched some black ribbon and added some card candy to the corners. I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday challenge blog but did rotate it to suit.
Would love to know what you all think to the uncoloured look. I quite like it and think it suits a teenage card.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Perfect In Pink
Morning Folks
Well, it's the start of a nice long Bank Holiday weekend in the UK. Although the weather has not exactly started out favourably. It's a bit grey and gloomy here and looks as though it might rain. Oh well, a crafting day it is then lol.
I have had a rather busy week at work so need a bit of me time this weekend. My hubby and daughter are both at work today so I have the house to myself. Sometimes it is just so nice to be able to chill out with no distractions and no one about to bother you. Better shut up now, I am beginning to sound like a right unsociable so and so lol.
My card share for today is a little summery number using products from Wild Rose Studio. I won some fab candy from Kate (downrightcrafty) recently and have been itching to just have a play. Thanks Kate, the candy was fab.
Sorry about the poor photo. Looks more like hot pink in this photo but it is really not. Much better in real life. Just couldn't seem to get it right the day I took this.
The Wild Rose Studio products I used were the stamp (Garden Bunnies), the paper pack (Annabelles Meadow) and the circle greeting. Lots of matting and layering involved here. The flowers, twine and pearls were all from my stash.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Sketch and Stash - use sketch
Bunny Zoe's - Summer
Crafty Sentiments - Flowers
Digi Doodle - Use pearls
Cute Card Thursday - Bling it up
Delightful Challenges - Fancy and frilly
Little Miss Muffet - Pink, pink, pink
Divas By Design - Anything goes
Thanks for popping by and for all the lovely comments you leave. I do read every one.
Take care and enjoy your weekend.

It's all about the men at Penny's
Hi Folks
Well, another week has passed and it's time for a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty challenges. Our theme this week is
You can create any project as long as it is masculine in nature.
We have three fab sponsors this week:
Dude Time Doodles - $10 gift certificate
Make It Crafty - $15 gift certificate
Crafty Sentiments - 3 digi images of winners choice
I was able to use a cute image from Crafty Sentiments for my card this week.
The image was coloured with promarkers and I created the grass by flicking my pen. Quite a good effect for grass. The papers are from Papermania (Wellington range). I cut some stars from coredinations, sanded them a little and added an epoxy button to each. I added some ribbon across the centre and tied some ribbon knots rather than bows. A peel off sentiment and some card candy finished the card.
I do hope to see some of you entering your amazing creations and if you need some further inspiration just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges. The design team have all done an awesome job.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Fashionista - Card for a child
Crafts & Me - Autumn Colours
Stamp N Doodle - Loaded with layers
The Paper Shelter - Anything goes
Divas By Design - Anything goes
Pile It On - Cuddly Critters
Thanks for popping by.

Button It with Dude Time Doodles
Hi Folks
It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new challenge over at Dude Time Doodles. Our theme this week is
Just create a masculine creation that has at least one button on it. How easy is that?
Our sponsor for this challenge is Pattie's Creations and the prize is 2 free digi images.
I used the fab image Kris Jingle. I decided that it was about time that I started to think about doing some christmas cards.
I coloured the image with promarkers and added a touch of glamour dust - not too much as it is a masculine card lol. I used buttons to create a small christmas tree. Some red ribbon and gems along the bottom, together with a sentiment finished the card.
So fetch out those buttons and get creating. For more inspiration pop over to Dude Time Doodles and check out what the rest of the dudettes and dude have been up to.
The challenge lasts for one week and I am looking forward to seeing all your wonderful creations.
Thanks for popping by.
Take care.

Anyone for Cake?
Evening Folks
Hope you are all well.
Just a quick post from me tonight as either my internet or blogger is deciding to play silly games. Has taken me ages so far to get this posted.
Crafty Ribbons are currently having a DT call. Full details can be found here. I decided to make this card to enter their current challenge and also to enter the DT call. Their current challenge is Feeling Fruity and you need to have fruit on your papers, image or embellishments.
I used one of my Forever Friends decoupage images that has been lying around in my drawer for months. The papers are new and are from Wild Rose Studio paper pack called Strawberry Picnic. This was part of a candy win that I recently had from Kate (Downrightcrafty). Thank you Kate. They are lovely. The ribbon, lace, sentiment and gems were from my stash.
I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge - Animals or teddies
Pan Pastel - Add decoupage
Pile It On - Cuddly Critters
Kaboodle Doodles - Thank You
Forever Friends - Anything Goes
Thanks for popping by and for any comments you leave. I do enjoy reading them and appreciate all your support.

Cute As A Button with Corrosive Challenges
Hi Folks
This is my second post for today.
Today we have a fab new challenge starting over at Corrosive Challenges. Our sponsor for the month of August is the wonderful Krista from Saturated Canary.
Our challenge theme this time around is:
All you need to do is combine a cute image with at least one button. I think most of us crafters have a large pile of buttons in our stash.
I used a cute image from Lily of the Valley. She is just so cute sitting on the swing with her best buddy beside her. The papers were from my scraps box and I combined with kraft card. I used buttons on all the flowers centres. The parchment butterflies were a little gift from my Mum. She enjoys doing parchment craft and made me these little beauties. Thank you Mum.
For more inspiration just pop over to Corrosive Challenges and check out what the rest of the design team have been up to. You won't be disappointed. Looking forward to seeing all your cute creations.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Crafty Sentiments - use sketch
Anything Goes - Summer days
Crafters Companion - Best Friends
Whimsy Stamps - Lots of Layers
Lilis Little Fairies - Oh So Girlie
Ladybug Crafts Ink - Summer Fun
Little Claire's - Best Friends
Thanks for popping by.

Dream Valley goes Steampunk
Hi Folks
Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday. It is a glorious day where we are today. So instead of our traditional Sunday roast we are breaking out the BBQ today. Nothing better on a hot day then a lovely salad and meat cooked on the BBQ. Have to make the most of it as we don't get many weekends in the UK to enjoy it lol.
But enough of the weather and my eating habits. Today sees the start of a new fortnightly challenge over at Dream Valley challenges.
The theme for this fortnight is:
Our fab sponsor for this challenge is My Mums Craft Shop and the winner gets a £10 voucher for the store.
Just make a crafty creation using the Steampunk theme, follow our rules and enter any kind of craft creation you like. It could be a card, scrapbook layout or maybe an altered item. Anything goes at Dream Valley.
Now this challenge did cause me a bit of a headache as Steampunk is not a style I have done a lot in the past. But got there in the end. Sorry for the poor photo but the camera just would not cooperate with me for this one.
Some of the items used in this creation were a Papermania watch stamp, Tim Holtz embossing folder, dies and peel offs. I printed the sentiment myself.
For more fab inspiration just pop over to Dream Valley and check out the awesome creations there. My fellow teamies have come up with some wonderful creations.
Thanks for popping by and look forward to all your comments. Would really be interested to know if I have captured the Steampunk style.
Take care.

Simply Thank You
Evening Folks
Hope you are all well. Been a busy week at work and after the party festivities last weekend I am looking forward to a nice quiet weekend. Hopefully the weather will be okay and I can sit in the garden and take it easy.
Because of last weekend I have had a few days with no crafting. I do find that if I don't craft for a few days I do find it difficult to get the creativity going again. I was a bit like that tonight. Went into the crafty room and just sat there wondering where to start. In the end, I decided to just do something nice and simple.
Here is what I came up with.
Over at Sentimental Sundays the current challenge is Clean and Simple with an added sketch bonus. This was the basis for the design of my card.
I used a round card blank and die cut a scalloped circle to go on it. I stamped and embossed the thank you and added some faux stitching round the edge. The flower is one of my spellbinders dies and I added a large gem and some pearls in the centre.
Still not very comfortable doing Clean and Simple but I think this is my best effort so far. Would be interested to hear your comments on it, good or bad.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Allsorts - Going round in circles
Little Miss Muffet - Scallops
The Poodles Parlour - Lets See Die Cuts
Stampin for the Weekend - Monchromatic
Sentimental Sundays - Clean and simple
MAWTT - Anything but square
Robyns Fetish - Monochromatic
The Paper Shelter - Clean and simple
Craftymess - Words (no image)
Scrapbook Sisters - Thank you
LEJ Designs - Clean and simple
Thanks for popping by.

Back to School at Penny's
Hi Folks
Hope you are all well. It's back to the wet stuff here again today. It has just thrown it down here with a bit of thunder thrown in for good measure. Looks like the nice weather of the last few days has been our Summer lol.
Anyhow, onto the matter at hand. Another week has flown by and it's time for a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges. Our theme for this week is:
I was lucky enough to be able to use a fab image from Fred She Said called 'Nolan and the Bullfrog'. This was actually a pre coloured image which does make for a quicker card.
I must admit that I wasn't sure what I was going to do when I first sat down to create this card. In the end I decided to make it a bit fun. So Nolan is off to school with his best friend The Bullfrog. I kept the layout quite simple and used minimal embellishments.

Happy 21st Birthday
Hi Folks
Here I am back to share the 21st birthday card that I made for my youngest daughter Gayle.
Gayle is very much a girly girl. She loves pink, bears, sparkle and bling. I used a vintage step card blank from Which Craft UK. I was lucky enough to win some from Bev Rochester when she gave some away as blog candy. Thank you Bev and Which Craft.
I used a Forever Friends decoupage image. So cute holding the champagne bottle. The swirls at the bottom were covered in glitter and I added lots of pink roses and some pearls. I also used some distress ink to add some definition to the frame. The pink paper does have a subtle pattern to it but you can't see it too well in the photo.
Here is another photo showing it stood up.
She absolutely loved it, thankfully.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Hooked On Craft - Lets Celebrate
Ready, Teddy, Go - Anything goes
Dis Digi Designs - No squares allowed
Forever Friends - Something new (papers, image, card blank)
Pretty Little Ribbon - Add some bling or sparkle
Papertake - Anything goes
Divas By Design - For a female
Paperplay - Shaped Card
Crafty Catz - Anything goes
Love to Create - Sparkle
Thanks for popping by.
Take care.

Party Time
Hi Folks
Sorry I have been MIA for the last few days. It was our youngest daughter's 21st birthday at the weekend and we decided to hold a BBQ party at home for her. We had a fabulous time and Gayle really enjoyed it. We don't get to see her as often as we would like as she lives away from home at the moment while attending university. But she is so grown up and we are really proud of her.
I hope you don't mind but thought I would share a few photos of the day.
Obviously, this is the fantastic birthday cake that was made for her. We have a local shop in the town where we live and she makes the most gorgeous cakes. The shop is called Cup N Cakes. I have added the link in case you want to check out some more of her fab creations. We just told her what we wanted and this is what she came up with. Zebra print, pink, shoes and glitter. All the things Gayle loves. We also got 21 cup cakes made.
Hubby was of course in charge of the BBQ and this next photo is a smashing shot of him in all his finery together with the birthday girl. He was in his element.
We did manage to get one shot of all of us together. I really love this photo. It is so natural. I had only had a couple of drinks at this stage but looks like I was a bit drunk lol.
Finally, a picture of both my girls after they had got changed to go clubbing.
Well, I hope I haven't bored you too much. Will be back shortly with a picture of the card I made Gayle for her special birthday.
Thanks for popping by.

Get Sketchy with Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges
Hi Folks
Boy, these weeks sure are passing by quickly. Keep thinking that I really must start my christmas cards but too much of everything else going on at the moment.
It is my youngest daughter's 21st birthday at the weekend. We are having a BBQ party at home for family and friends. At the moment the weather forecast is looking pretty good. But you can imagine I have a million and one things to do before then. So apologies if I am a bit absent for the next few days. Promise I will post some piccies of the birthday girl.
Anyway, back to business.
Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.
We have a fab sketch challenge for you this week. Just create something using the sketch and upload it to the challenge blog.
We have two fab sponsors this week who are both offering fab prizes. We have The Paper Shelter and My Heart Pieces. Pop over to the challenge blog for more details and to enter the challenge. The design team have come up with some fab projects for your inspiration.
Here is the sketch we are using.
and this is the card I created using a wonderful image from The Paper Shelter.
This is a pre coloured image that I have used to create this card. Love having a go at colouring but sometimes you just want something for quickness. The background paper is from Papermania and I embossed a piece of pearlescent paper for the image to sit on. I inked round the edges of all the papers with distress ink to add a bit of interest. I didn't want to overdo it with the embellishments so stuck to a few roses, some heart pins and some pearls.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Hooked On Craft - Lets Celebrate
The Crafty Pad - Show some metal (decorative pins)
Pile It On - Add some metal (decorative pins)
Pretty Little Ribbon - Add bling or sparkle
Papertake - Anything goes
Creative Inspirations - Anything goes
Fab N Funky - Use pearls or rhinestones
Thanks for popping by and look forward to seeing all your lovely creations.
Take care.

Freebie Challenge at Dude Time Doodles
Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.
Today sees the start of our Freebie challenge over at Dude Time Doodles. Basically we supply the image and you create something using that image. It can be anything you like as long as it is a masculine project. The best part is that the winner of the challenge gets to be our guest designer for the month of September. How fab is that?
Here is what I created using the fun freebie image. This card will be heading to my nephew for his birthday later on in the month.
The image is coloured in promarkers and then matted onto some dark blue coordinations card. The papers are all from Papermania. I used two different colours and widths of ribbon to create the two strips. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and I die cut a shape for it to sit on. The addition of a few pearls finished it off nicely.
So what are you waiting for. Head on over to Dude Time Doodles, download your freebie and get creating. Looking forward to seeing all your fab creations.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
A Gem Of A Challenge - use sketch
Top Tip Tuesday - Focus on the ribbon
Totally Papercrafts - Monochrome
Cutie Pie - Spots and stripes
Papertake - Anything goes
Creative Inspirations - Anything goes
Crafts and Me - Use a digi
Take care now.
Hope you are all well.

Punches and Dies At The Ready
Hi Folks (for the second time today)
I am watching the tennis final in the olympics at the moment. Murray is doing so well and I am sure he will get the gold for us.
Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Dream Valley Challenges.
We have two fab sponsors for you this month:
One Stop Card Crafts who are offering a £10 voucher to their on line store and
Inked Treasures who are offering 4 free images.
Our challenge theme for this one is:
Punches and Die Cuts
All you have to do is make a crafty creation using your die cuts and punches from your crafty collections. I am sure most of us have one or two lying around lol.
For my project today I used some decoupage and papers from Docrafts by Lucy Cromwell. These are such sweet images.
I used one of my spellbinder dies to create the frame for the decoupage image to sit on. The glittery butterflies were done using one of my Marianne dies. I punched the corners of the backing paper with a corner punch so you can see the coredinations card underneath. Finished it off with a doily, some ribbon, a bow, resin flowers and pearls and gems.
If you are still stuck for inspiration pop over to Dream Valley and check out the awesome work of the design team. Such talent and creativity.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges;
The Paper Shelter - Glitz and glimmer
Divas By Design - Flowers
Charisma Cardz - Pink + 1
Crafty Catz - Pink
Simply Create Too - Anything goes
Catch the Bug - Anything goes
Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your fab punches and die cuts.
Take care.

Birthday Wishes at Corrosive Challenges
Happy Sunday to you all
Hope you are having a good day, whatever you are doing and whatever the weather. It is pretty misearble where I am today. Lots of rain and showers. But that seems to be the norm at the moment. Hope it clears up for next weekend. It is my youngest daughter's 21st birthday and we are having a BBQ party for family and friends. Still, I have got a couple of gazebos and us British are pretty hardy you know lol.
Anyway, it's time for a new challenge to start over at Corrosive Challenges.
As it is the start of a new month we have a new sponsor. Our sponsor for the month of August is the wonderful Saturated Canary. Krista has generously offered two free images to our winner for August plus the winner has the opportunity to be our next guest designer. How fab is that?
Our challenge theme for this fortnight is:
How easy is that? Just upload your birthday themed creations to the Corrosive Challenges blog. Also our fab leader Regan is offering a mini prize as it is her birthday in August. Just check out the challenge blog for full details and for some inspiration from the talented design team.
Here is my card that I have created using a gorgeous image from our sponsor Saturated Canary.
I decided to go with my favourite colour of purple for this little beauty. The papers are from Papermania and the butterfly paper was some embossed cardstock that I got ages ago (can't remember where from though).
The decorative corners are from Memory Box and I used a spellbinders die for the flower. Added some ribbon and lace across the centre and a large Marianne die cut butterfly. Bit of sparkle and bling to finish.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Bunny Zoes - Swirls and Lace
Stamp N Doodle - Use your favourite colour (purple)
Divas By Design - Flowers
I Love Promarkers - Spots and Stripes
One Crazy Stamper - Bingo (swirls, die cut, polka dots)
Paperplay - Layer it up
Delightful challenges - Birthdays
Crafty Ribbons - Spots and Dots
Simply Create Too - Anything goes
Catch the Bug - Anything goes
Ribbon Girl - Bingo (ribbon, pearls, image)
Thanks for popping by and look forward to seeing all your birthday creations.
Take care.

Up, up and away
Evening Folks
Hope you are all having a good weekend. I must say I have become totally caught up in the Olympics. The fact that Great Britain are doing really well is also helping. However, this does mean that my crafty time is suffering quite a bit lol.
Anyway, just thought I would pop by and post this card. It was made for my sister to give to her hubby for his birthday.
I decided to go quite vintage on this one and the starting point was the lovely balloon topper from Kanban. I also had some Hero Arts balloon stamps which I used to make the little tag. The papers were from my stash box so don't know who they are by. I believe the spotty paper is Papermania but the background paper I am not sure of. I added some card candy and a browny gold bow and made a little sentiment.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Love to Create - Add a tag
Totally Papercrafts - Monochrome
Paperplay - Layer It Up
Delightful Challenges - Birthdays
Crafty Ribbons - Spots and dots
Catch The Bug - Anything goes
One Stop - City Break
Thanks for popping by. I have also got a couple of new followers. Welcome and thank you for your support.
Now back to the athletics.
Take care.
