Imagination Crafts Inspiration and a little Candy

Hi Folks
Hope you all had a good weekend.  Hoping to get a bit of crafty time in today but got a few jobs to do and I am waiting for my daughter to return from her holiday.  Her and her fiance have been to Gran Canaria for ten days.  I expect to get a phone call shortly asking me to pick them up from the train station.  Will be nice to see her as it has been a bit quiet with just hubby and me about for the last ten days.

Today I would like to share a project I have done for the Imagination Crafts blog.  However, you are only getting a sneak peak here.  To see the whole project and details of how I made it you will need to pop over to the Imagination Crafts blog.

As a thank you I am going to offer a surprise candy to one of you.  All you need to do to win the candy is to pop over to my project at Imagination Crafts (here is the link)  and leave a comment and then pop back here and leave a comment.  I will be checking so make sure that you have commented on both posts.  Anyone can enter and I will post worldwide.
The candy will remain open for a week and I will select a winner on Monday 7th July.

Thanks for popping by.

Just For You Hooo!

Hi Folks
Hope you are well and all had a good weekend.  I have had a lovely leisurely day today.  I am still trying to get myself into a routine following my holiday and leaving work.  An exciting week coming up as my youngest daughter is coming home from Magalluf for a flying visit from Wednesday to Friday.  She is enjoying her summer out there and I know she will have some wonderful memories to look back on in years to come.

Today I thought I would share a card I made a little while ago for Kraftyhands.  It is from their What A Hoot CD which can be found here.

The CD is full of lovely images and papers and the owls are so cute.  I used this decoupage image and matted it onto some red card.  The backing paper is also on the CD and matted again onto red card.  For embellishments I simply punched some red corners and added some pearls and a resin flower.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

Anyone for Cake

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  I have been a busy girl today.  Hubby and I decided before our holiday that we really needed to sort our double garage out.  Over the last few years it has become a dumping ground for anything and everything.  So we made a start today.  Three trips to the tip and we are now halfway through.  It is so satisfying to finally be getting it sorted.  I only had to remind hubby a couple of times that the object of the task was to get rid of stuff and not keep it just in case lol.

As I did not get any crafting done today I thought I would share a card that I made a little while ago.

The card was made using a free Hunkydory kit that was in Cardmaking and Papercrafts several months ago.  The pearly strips are from The Hobby House and the rosette is Papermania.  I added a couple of little butterflies and some stickles around the outside of the card for added sparkle.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I do love reading all your comments.

For a Fabulous Friend

Hi Folks
Hope you have all had a good day.  Now I am not working I have made a start on some of those jobs that I never had time to get round to.  Today I started clearing out some cupboards and drawers.  The stuff you accumulate and hang onto just in case.  My bin is now filling up nicely lol.

I did spend a couple of hours crafting and made a card using Art Deco Roaring Twenties decoupage pack from Papermania.

I used a spellbinders die to cut the mat for the image to sit on.  I used black card for the die cut shape and the matting.  There is lots of dimension with the decoupage image.  For embellishments I used some ribbon, some rectangular gems and a dazzler on the bow.
Quite a quick card to do and another one for my stock.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I do love reading all your comments.

Just For You Dad

Hi Folks
I had a lovely last day at work yesterday.  My colleagues know me well as I received some Hobbycraft vouchers as a leaving pressie.  I will really enjoy spending those.  It was a bit emotional saying goodbye to everyone but as soon as I walked out the door I knew that I had made the right decision to leave.  Now it is onwards and upwards and looking forward to the next challenge.

Today I thought I would share a Fathers Day card that I made for one of my nephews to give to his Dad.

I used a tutorial that I found over on the Papermill blog here to make the shirt.  The tie was made using kraft card and stamped with a small star stamp.  The sentiment was a freebie that I received with a crafting magazine - I believe it was the Docrafts one but cannot be sure.  I added some faux stitching around the cuff and the pocket and used some buttons from my stash.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Hope you all have a good weekend.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
OSAAT - Button it
That Craft Place - Men

Winter Wonderland

Hi Folks and thanks for popping by my blog today.
A day of mixed emotions for me today as it is my last day at work.  I made the decision a few months ago to take voluntary severance after 31 years.  It was a difficult decision to make but I felt that it was the right thing for me.  I will miss my work colleagues but not the work and the environment.  I am now looking forward to the new challenges ahead.

On a brighter note today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
A Christmas Choir
(use an image of a singer/singers)

Here is my inspiration project using a Forever Friends topper.

I used silver mirror card for all the matting and the papers were oddments in my christmas paper stash.  For embellishments I used some mini poinsettias, ribbons and sparkly gems.

Love and Marriage at The Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
Today I would like to share a little inspiration for our current challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.
Our theme for this month is:
Love and Marriage

This month our generous sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps with a prize of 7 digi images to the winner.

Here is my inspiration project using an image from our sponsor.

I decided to go for an anniversary card for a young couple as I thought the image was just perfect for that.  I coloured the image with promarkers and added some stickles to the lettering for added sparkle.  I then matted the image onto some pink pearlescent card.  The background has been embossed using an embossalicious folder and matted onto the same pearlescent card.  The ribbon worked perfectly with little hearts on it.  Some roses and heart gems finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and you still have until the end of the month to enter the challenge.  Just pop over to The Crafting Cafe for full details.

Hi Folks
I am now back from my holiday and had a fabulous time.  The weather was lovely and now I just have to work on keeping my tan as long as possible lol.  Bit difficult with the lack of sunshine here since I have been home.

I am here today to provide a little inspiration for the current monthly challenge over at Crafting Musketeers.  Our theme for this month is:
Use a stamped image
(this can include digital images too)

Here is my inspiration project using a digital image from our sponsor Polka Doodles.

I coloured the image with my promarkers before cutting out with an oval die.  I distressed with ink through the die and added some liquid pearls around the image.  The papers came from a free paper pad that came with a crafting magazine a few months ago.  All the matting and layering was done onto pink card.  Lots of pink flowers, gems and ribbon completed the card.

For full details of the challenge just pop over to Crafting Musketeers.  Looking forward to seeing lots of entries.

All That Glitters at Imagination Crafts Challenges

Hi Folks
Well we are now halfway through June and time for a little inspiration for our current challenge over at Imagination Crafts Challenges.

Our theme for this month is:
All That Glitters
Don't forget that if you use any Imagination Crafts products on your creation then you could win a £40 voucher to spend at Imagination Crafts.

Here is my inspiration project.

I created a wall hanging using one of the MDF frames available from Imagination Crafts.  I started by painting the frame with some acrylic paint and created a crackle effect using some crackle glaze.  I then got my stencils out (Butterfly and Daisy, Petal Flourish) and used Periwinkle and Gold Shine sparkle medium.  Some punched butterflies, little gems and some ribbon to hang it finished off the project.

Thanks for popping by and would love for you to pop over to Imagination Crafts Challenges and check out the challenge details.  There are some wonderful creations from my talented teamies for you to look at too.

Floral Fancy with Kraftyhands

Hi Folks
This is a scheduled post as I will still be on my holiday when this goes live.  Hopefully my tan will be coming along nicely.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Kraftyhands Challenges.  Our theme for this month is:
Floral Fancy

Here is my inspiration card using the Kew Floral Collection CD which can be found here.

I used a shaped card blank from Craftwork Cards for my card.  I covered the card with backing paper from the CD.  The image was printed out and mounted over a doily.  I added some butterflies and flowers, along with some ribbon across the bottom of the card.  I found the little bird image in my stash.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Hi Folks
Another scheduled post for you as I am still away.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas
Your project must be white on white, only the image can be coloured.  Of course, it has to be a christmas creation too.

Here is my inspiration project.

I used a large sentiment that I found in my christmas stash as the starting point for this card.  The background of the card has been embossed using a snowflakes embossing folder.  I then edged around the card with stardust stickles.  I die cut three poinsettias out of white card and added some large gems to the centre.

Our sponsor for this weeks challenge is:

You can create anything you like as long as you follow the challenge theme.

Here is my inspiration project using an image from one of our sponsors Meljens Designs.

The image is called Cork Poppin Mouse and is so cute.  The image has been coloured in promarkers and I added some stardust stickes around the edge for sparkle.  The image has been matted onto silver mirror card. For the background I used some paper from my scraps box and embossed a small piece of white card.  I inked all the edges using pumice stone distress ink.  For embellishments I added a ribbon and bow, some large gems and a dazzler to the centre of the bow.

All That Glitters at Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks
This is a scheduled post as by the time this goes live I should be in Turkey soaking up the sun.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Imagination Crafts Challenges.  Our theme for this month is:
All That Glitters
You can enter using any project you like but if you do use Imagination Crafts products you could win a £40 voucher to spend in the store.  A great prize I think you will agree.

Here is my inspiration project.

The background was created by using lavender sparkle medium through the daisy diamond stencil onto patterned card (also from Imagination Crafts).  When it was dry I matted onto some dark purple card and added a little gem to each daisy.  The sentiment is also from Imagination Crafts.  I made a purple flower and added to the corner over some ribbon and fabric leaves.  The little butterfly on the sentiment is soft purple sparkle medium used in a Martha Stewart mould.

Thanks for popping by and would love to see you enter our challenge.  Just pop over to the challenge blog here for full details and to see the awesome projects from my talented teamies.
