Butterfly and Blooms

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  My daughters treated me to lunch out today.  The weather was gorgeous and we sat out in the pub beer garden having a glass of wine and eating our lunch.  It was beautiful.
But it's back to work tomorrow.  A couple of weeks ago I had a big decision to make at work.  They have offered voluntary severance to staff in my pay grade.  I have worked there for 30 years but have not been happy for the last five of those.  I have therefore made the decision to take the money and run lol.  It has not been an easy decision but I know I have made the right choice.  I don't actually leave work until June but am now looking for a little part time job.  Hubby has said that I can't craft all day every day lol.

Anyway, enough rambling and onto my card share for today, a little Mothers Day card.

The main scalloped circle shape and image is from Crafts U Print.  I got some free design sheets from them in a magazine many months ago and thought it was about time I used them.  I cut out the main scalloped circle shape and matted it onto some silver mirror card.  I cut out four corner shapes from silver mirror card using my Brother Scan and Cut.  For embellishments I added some lace and pearls.  The lettering is die cut and I added some glitter for added sparkle.  The sentiment has been done on my computer and simply matted onto mirror card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

Happy Mothers Day

Hi Folks
Happy Mothers Day to all you lovely Mummy's in the UK.  Hope you have all had a good day.  My daughters got me some flowers and choccies and are taking me out for lunch tomorrow.  They are such good girls and I have had a lovely relaxing day.

Today's card is one I made for my Mum for Mothers Day.  I have made several Mothers Day cards this year so prepare to see a few more over the next few days.

I recently treated myself to a Tonic Verso Delicate Lattice Ovals die and this is my first creation using it.  It cuts beautifully and created a lovely centrepiece for the card.  The flowers are from my Spellbinders delicate asters die.  I used pink card as a contrast to the white (although it looks more peach coloured in this photo lol).  The embossed background is an embossalicious folder.  The butterflies are a punch and I added a white ribbon bow and some pearls to the centre of the flowers.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I do enjoy reading all your comments.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Steampunk Birthday

Hi Folks
Well it seems to have been a long week at work.  Thank goodness it is Friday and as if by magic it feels like I am getting a cold too.  Been running hot and cold all day and feel very sniffly.  Gonna dose myself up before bed tonight and hope I can shrug it off.

Today I am sharing a card that I made for my Mum's birthday a couple of weeks ago.  She is into cardmaking too so I always try and come up with something a bit different for her.

The images and papers are from the Steampunk Emporium CD from Kraftyhands.  I did all the matting onto black cardstock.  The corner pieces and the cogs are wooden laser cuts from Hobbycutz.  I did some embossing on them with metallic copper embossing powder and also added some mica powders.  The flowers are all metal and I added some black ribbon to two of the corners.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I love reading all your comments.

Cameo Silhouette Birthday

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  A quick post from me tonight as it is getting late.  I really must try and make time to do my posts earlier in the day lol.

Todays card is one I made for my nephews to give to their auntie for her birthday.

The image, papers and sentiment are from a very old copy of Making Cards (must be at least two years old).  I thought it was about time I started to use them.  I used gold mirror card for all the matting.  As it felt quite vintage I added some lace across the centre.  The paper flowers and pearls are from The Hobby House.  The final touch was a couple of metal flowers and some buttons from my stash.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Off now to do a bit of commenting before bed.

Playing with Stencils

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  I decided to get crafty today by using my stencils and sparkle medium from Imagination Crafts.  I do love using sparkle medium as it gives an instant wow to your projects with the lovely sparkle.

Here is one of the cards I made using the Alium and honeycomb stencils together with sparkle medium.  Now you might need your sunglasses on as it is quite bright.

I used the rose shimmer and golden pine sparkle medium to do the alium.  Once dry I used distress ink and the honeycomb stencil to add some interest to the topper.  I used orange and black cardstock for the matting and the background paper is from Papermania.  Some ribbon, a dazzler, sentiment, gems and a parchment glittered butterfly finished the card.  I also added a little bee metal charm near the bow.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I love reading all your comments and thank you for your support and kind words.

Are We There Yet?

Hi Folks
Hope you have had a good day.  Bit of a mixed day weather wise here, a bit of sun, a bit of rain and some wind thrown in lol.  Luckily I had nowhere to go today so spent the day in my pj's. I just love pj days.  Got a few jobs done and some crafting too.  Just relaxing now ready to watch a film.

Today's card share is one my daughter asked me to make for a friend's little boys birthday.

I used a cute pre coloured image from Lily of the Valley for this creation.  This is from one of their art pads and they are just perfect for a quick card.  The papers are from K & Company and I used kraft card for the matting.  A simple layout but didn't want to make it too fussy as it was for a little boy. The little corners were done using a punch.  A sentiment from Craftwork Cards and a button finished off the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

CAS at The Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and having a good week.

I am here today to share a little inspiration for our March challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.  Our theme for this month is:
Clean and Simple

Our sponsor for March is LEJ Designs with a prize of 4 digi images to the winner.

All of the design team have used an image from LEJ Designs for their inspiration projects.

I printed the tulips image onto white cardstock and then used distress inks to colour the image.  I also added a wee bit of glamour dust to the tulips for added sparkle.  For matting and the punched border I used some purple coredinations cardstock.  Some ribbon and a sentiment from my stash finished the card.

Now CAS is something that I do struggle with but quite pleased with how this turned out.  I hope you have been inspired to have a go.  Just pop over to The Crafting Cafe to enter the challenge.  Keep your eye out for more inspiration throughout the month from the design team.

For a Special Friend

Hi Folks
Had a busy day at work today so just settling down to have a look at some of your lovely blogs.  Things are a bit hectic here at the moment, with one thing and another, so apologies if I don't get round to visiting your blogs as much as I would like.

My card share for today is one I made for one of my daughters to give to a friend.

I have used a decoupage image and papers from the Lucy Cromwell collection from Papermania.  I have had this papercrafting set for a couple of years now so thought I ought to start using it.  I used kraft card for all the matting as I love the combination of pink and kraft card together.  For embellishments I added some lovely metal corners, a ribbon box type bow, some flowers and some punched butterflies.  I did add some stickles around the sentiments and some liquid pearls to the main decoupage topper.  I think it has rather a spring like feel to it.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I look forward to reading all your comments.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Happy 1st Birthday

Hi Folks
Well the weekend flew by, yet again.  We had a lovely day yesterday as we were all invited to a first birthday party.  One of my daughters friends has a little girl and she was one yesterday.  My daughters love her to bits and they are both going to be godparents when she is christened.

Tonight I thought I would share one of the cards I made for the birthday girl.

Quite a simple card but very effective I thought.  I started by matting a square of white card onto pink gingham paper and attached this to a scalloped square card blank.  I went around the edge with some faux stitching.  I used a template I had for the number 1 and cut it out of gingham paper.  The sentiment was done on the computer.  The butterflies and flowers were done using punches and I added some little gems to finish off the card together with a little bow.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

Before I go my daughters offered to make the birthday cake.  They were thinking of doing a simple decorated sponge cake but their friend had other ideas and asked if there was any chance they could do a princess castle.  Now, they are not professional bakers and have never tackled anything like this before but they did not want to disappoint.  Here is the finished result and I think they did an excellent job.

My two daughters have a friend whose little girl will be one today so we are going to her first birthday party.  My daughters love her to bits and have made her birthday cake for her.  Will pop back later and show you a couple of pictures of the cake.  Gotta let the birthday girl and her Mummy and Daddy see it first.

Imagination Crafts Mid Month Inspiration

Hi Folks
We are now halfway through March and time for some mid month inspiration for our challenge over at the Imagination Crafts challenge blog
Our theme for this month is:
Imagination In Bloom

You can enter with any project but if you use any Imagination Crafts product you could win a £40 voucher to spend in store.  So get those Imagination Crafts goodies out and have a go.

Here is my inspiration project using a gorgeous clematis decoupage stamp and a sentiment stamp.

I started off by using an embossing stencil to emboss some parchment.  The parchment was then attached to some green card using some little metal brads.  The sentiment was stamped onto parchment and embossed with white WOW embossing powder.  I used a spellbinders die to cut it out and matted this onto another spellbinders die.  The clematis stamp was stamped onto parchment and embossed.  I cut the flowers out and added them to the card together with some white fabric leaves that I had in my stash.  Some dazzlers in the centre of the flowers was the finishing touch together with some small pearls on the background.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries to our challenge.  Just pop over to the Imagination Crafts challenge blog where you will find more gorgeous inspiration projects from my wonderful teamies.

Simple Birthday Card

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and looking forward to your weekend.  I am so looking forward to my weekend.  I have had a big decision to make at work this week which has not been easy.  Can't say too much at the moment but changes are coming.
Our youngest daughter had some fantastic news this week.  She has been accepted into university to train to be a midwife.  She has wanted to do this for a few years now and she was so excited to be accepted.  We are so proud of her and know that she will a great midwife.

Anyway, enough waffle and onto tonight's card share.  I have been having another play with my Brother Scan and Cut using some free cutting files from Birds Cards.

The background and the Birthday Wishes in the centre were cut from pink card using my Brother Scan and Cut.  I mounted the birthday wishes onto some purple card after threading some ribbon through the slots at top and bottom.  A lace bow and some pearls in the corners of the card were the only embellishments needed.  Such a quick and easy card to do but very effective.  Think I will be making a few of those for my card stock box.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I love reading all your comments.

Who's Room?

Hi Folks
Sorry I have not been around much the last two or three days.  My sister, brother-in-law and nephews have been to stay with us this weekend.  It has been lovely to see them and we drank and ate far too much.  The weather has been lovely today and it was so nice to be able to sit outside in the garden with a glass of wine and good company.  Hopefully, I will get round to visiting your lovely blogs in the next couple of days.

Tonight I thought I would share a little wall hanging that I made a little while ago using Imagination Crafts products.

I used one of the MDF Frame and Charm sets.  I used acrylic paint and crackle glaze on the frame itself.  When it was dry I used the Leaf Swirl border stencil and sparkle medium.  Whilst this was drying I took the MDF butterflies from the frame set and coloured them using mica powders over versamark.  I added some lettering, a bow, some gems and a little wire flower that I had in my stash.

I was really pleased with the way it came out and it now has pride of place in my craft room.  Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I haven't forgotten about my blog candy and will post the winners tomorrow evening.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Well, here we are on the verge of another weekend starting.  Don't know about you but the weeks are just flying by at the moment.  We have got my sister, brother in law and two nephews coming down to spend the weekend with us.  Looking forward to seeing them and having another birthday celebration.  So far my birthday celebrations have lasted nearly three weeks lol.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Kraftyhands Challenge blog.  Our theme for this month is:
Easy Easter

Here is my inspiration using the Preferably Pastels CD available from Kraftyhands.

All of the papers and image are from the CD.  I used yellow coredinations card for the matting.  Some ribbon, gems and a parchment butterfly finished the card off nicely.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations. Just pop over to Kraftyhands Challenge blog to enter the challenge. Don't forget to check out the lovely creations from my teamies.

It's Candy Time

This is a sticky post. Scroll down for latest posts.

Hi Folks
Well I must say that I have certainly got caught up in watching the Winter Olympics.  Very exciting today when Team GB got a bronze medal in the womens curling.  Will be hoping for gold tomorrow from the mens curling team.

Anyway onto the reason for my post today.  As some of you may have read from previous posts it is my big 50th birthday next week, on the last day of the month to be precise.  I was actually born about 10.00pm on the 28th and it was a leap year.  If Mum had held on for a couple of hours I would have been a leap year baby.

So my way of celebrating with all my blog friends and followers is by offering some candy.

I have put together some crafting goodies which includes a die set, stamps, gems, ribbons, pins and various embellishments.  All the things that I like.
I will also be adding a £30 gift certificate for Imagination Crafts.

So what do you need to do to win this little lot.
1.  Be a follower of my blog
2. Add a picture of my candy to your sidebar
3. Leave me a comment below

But please no candy only followers.  I will be checking that you have all followed my simple instructions.  Also I will be giving a little surprise candy away to one of my followers who regularly pops by my blog and leaves lovely comments.  You all know who you are.

Good luck to you all.  As I will probably be a bit busy next weekend celebrating I will keep my candy open until the week after my birthday - Friday 7th March.

Happy Anniversary

Hi Folks
Now I bet I have caught a few of you by surprise with my very early morning post.  I managed to find enough time last night to schedule this post before I went to bed.  Now that doesn't happen often lol.

Today I wanted to share an anniversary card with you that I made.

I used a free cutting file from http://www.birdscards.com/ for the white layer.  This is a great site and Bird has lots of cutting files and images to download for free.  I scanned the cutting file image into my Brother Scan and Cut and then got it to cut it out.  It worked perfectly and an excellent cut.  Once cut I mounted it onto pink coredinations cardstock.  For the centre I simply cut a square, rounded the corner and added the wording using a peel off.  For embellishments I added a bow, pearls and some flowers.  I also went round the edge of the cut panel with stickles.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I love reading all your comments.

You still have a couple of days to enter my blog candy too.
