Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Another week has gone by and can't believe that February starts on Saturday.  I swear the years go by quicker and quicker as I get older.  This February is rather a big one for me as I celebrate a big (50) birthday on February 28th.  Keep your eyes peeled over the next week or two for a little candy giveaway to celebrate.

As it is Wednesday I am here to let you know about the new challenge starting over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Spots and Dots

We have three great sponsors joining us this week
StampArt Design - prize of 5 digi images to the winner
DeeDees Digis - prize of 3 digi images to the winner
Digital Delights - prize of a $5 gift voucher

Here is my inspiration project using a fab image from DeeDees design.

The image is called Cup of Joy and comes in both uncoloured and coloured versions.  I decided to go with the coloured version.  I simply cut it out using my scalloped die, added some distress ink through the die and glittered all the little flowers.  This was matted onto a piece of white card that I embossed with a lattice embossing folder.  The dotty paper is from Pink Gem Designs and I used purple coredinations card for all the matting.  The ribbon and flower were from my stash and I added a punched butterfly.  I decided to make this a get well card using a sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges to enter the challenge.  Don't forget to check out the gorgeous creations from my teamies.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Love Is In The Air

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  Quite an easy week at work coming up as I am on a course on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  I just hope I learn something and it is not just a remix of previous courses I have been on lol.

I have done quite a bit of crafting over the weekend.  Most of it is DT work that I can't show you at the moment.  However, this afternoon I had a little play with ribbons.  With Valentines Day around the corner I thought it was time to make a start.

I wanted to create a card with lots of dimension so decided to do a heart wreath.  I cut a heart shaped ring out of cardboard and wrapped dark blue satin ribbon around it (although you can't really see that now because of the roses).  I then attacked my scrap ribbon box and tied various pieces of ribbon onto the heart shape.  For the roses I used some pre bought ones but most of them (the shiny pink, pale blue and burgundy roses) are made using ribbon.  I love the effect you get and they are quite life like.  Some fabric leaves were also added.  I used a peel off for the sentiment and a little gem heart for the centre.

As I love working with ribbon I would like to enter this into the DT call over at Crafty Ribbons.  Sorry about the quality of the photo, the colours are so much better in real life.  I normally take my photos underneath my lamp with a daylight bulb in it.  But my bulb blew a couple of days ago so I have had to order another one.  Hope it arrives soon.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Celebrate in Style

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend.  Only got today to get through at work and then off till Tuesday.  I do enjoy not working Mondays any more.  I finally picked up my new car and it is great.  Feels and drives quite differently to my old one but will soon get used to it.  Thank you to my wonderful hubby for buying it for me.  Which leads me quite nicely onto my card share for today.

It was hubby's birthday a week before christmas and this is the clean and simple card I made him.

The stamp is one that I have had for a couple of years and is from Wild Rose Studio,  Not sure if it is still available though.  I stamped it directly onto some white card.  This was then matted onto some red mirror card.  The heart is a wooden laser cut from Hobbycutz which I coloured with promarkers and then added some stickles.  I doodled around the edges of the card with a red pen and then stuck on some peel off stars and a sentiment.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I do enjoy reading all your comments and appreciate all your visits.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Dream Valley - Boys/Men
Stampin for the Weekend - Happy Birthday

I have a day off work today so decided to surprise you all with an early post.  I usually end up posting quite late in the evening, unless it is a scheduled post.  I know that I could schedule all my posts but I am not that organised lol.

Today I thought I would share with you another sample from Kraftyhands.  This time I have used one of their Femme Fatale toppers which are available here.

The papers I have used are from Kraftyhands Vintage Treasure CD which can be found here.  I distressed all the edges and did some light inking with distress ink.  I added some stickles around the image for added sparkle.  For embellishments I added some ribbon, lace, feather, pins, roses, pearls and a little metal butterfly on top of the bow.  Very pink and girly.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  Today can't go quick enough for me as I hopefully pick up my new car tomorrow.  I haven't acutally seen it yet so hope I will like it.  But hubby knows what he is doing so I am sure he won't have bought me anything ropey, or would he lol?

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is

Here is my inspiration project using a super image from Bugaboo Stamps.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges to enter the challenge.  Don't forget to check out the creations from the design team while you are there.

Femme Fatale

Hi Folks
Hope you have all had a good weekend.  I manged to spend most of yesterday in my crafty room working on DT projects.  Today has been family day.  Hubby cooked a lovely Sunday roast and my eldest daughter and her boyfriend came round for dinner.  My daughter moved to live with her boyfriend a couple of weeks ago and has settled down really well.  She does love her Sunday roast though and has already said that they will be coming round every Sunday.  Nice to see her so happy.

Anyway, I have been busy making some samples for the new Kraftyhands CD which is available now.  The CD is called Femme Fatale and is full of gorgeous images and papers.

Here is my first sample to share with you.

I made an easel card and used one of the pyramid toppers and papers from the CD.  I teamed these elements with various die cuts and embellishments from my stash.

I love this CD and it has been a pleasure making samples.  I know you will love it too.  Just pop over to Kraftyhands to find out more.

Anything Goes at The Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  A quick post from me today as I have a few things I need to get done.

Today I would like to share a little inspiration for our current challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.  Our theme for this month is
Anything Goes
and our generous sponsor is The Stamping Boutique.

I used this cute image called Rocking Horse for my inspiration piece.

As you can see I decided to decorate a gift bag.  This would be just perfect for a little girl's gift.  I coloured the image using promarkers and mounted onto some pink card.  Some stitching was added around the edge of the image.  The backing paper I have had forever so no idea where I originally got it from - possible a freebie in a magazine.  I added some ribbon and a rosette flower to the bottom of the gift bag.  Some butterflies were the finishing touch together with the die cut lettering.

Thanks for popping by and hope you will join us at The Crafting Cafe for our Anything Goes challenge.  You have until the end of the month to enter.

For The Boys

Hi Folks
Hoping to get in my crafty room for a bit today.  The weather is not looking too good so no plans to go out anywhere.  Much prefer to stay in the warm and craft lol.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge.  Our theme for this week is hosted by the lovely Katie and she has chosen
For The Boys

The prize as always is

2 individual digi images
(NO SETS, PERSONALISED WATERMARKS OR SENTIMENT SETS)
of the winners choice from Pink Gem Designs

Here is my inspiration project

I decided to go for a blue and yellow combination using Baby Boy Teddy.  I used the pre coloured version of the image and printed it out a couple of times to enable me to layer it.  The image was then cut out using a Marianne die and mounted onto a doily.  The spotty backing papers are from Papermania.  I used coredinations card for the matting and used my MS Punches to create the card shape.  Just love this punch around the page.  I added some buttons shaped like hands (which have been in my stash for a good 12 months), gems, ribbon and a bow.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  Just pop over to A Gem of a Challenge to upload your entry.  Don't forget to check out the inspiration projects from the design team while you are there.

Playing with Steampunk

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend.  Well, it has been an exciting week for me.  If you have seen my earlier posts this week hubby surprised me on Wednesday by buying me a new car.  Quite unexpected and a lovely surprise.  Can't wait to pick it up sometime next week.

Tonight I would like to share a card that I made to enter the Imagination Crafts design team call in December.  I was delighted when I got an email from Linda to say that I had been successful and was staying on the team.  Looking forward to working with my new teamies and with the fabulous products available at Imagination Crafts.

The central image has been done using Black Stars sparkle medium and the Cameo Cog stencil on glossy red card.  Once dry the image was matted onto black cardstock and a few little gems added.  The background was created using distress ink through the Time and Motion stencil.  For embellishments I added some ribbon and flowers.  The flowers are metal and fitted in with the steampunk theme.  I did add some sparkle detail to the centre of the flowers.  The sentiment is from LOTV.

Crafting Musketeers Mid Month Inspiration

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  Only a couple more days and then it will be the weekend, yay.
I must admit I had a wonderful surprise yesterday.  My lovely hubby bought me a new car.  I know my old car is getting a bit old and worn out but had no idea hubby was planning on replacing it.  I have seen a picture of the new car and it looks lovely so I am sure I will love it.  Feeling very loved and blessed at the moment.

Anyway, enough of my rambling and onto crafty matters.  I am here to share a little mid month inspiration for our current challenge over at the Crafting Musketeers.  Our theme for this month is:
Grunge
and we are sponsored by the fabulous Visible Image who are offering a lovely prize for the winner.

Here is my project which I found very difficult to do for some reason.  Sometimes I just can't get a feel for a project and this was just one of those times.

The papers are from the chronology paper pad by Papermania.  I distressed all the edges and added some distress ink to give an aged look.  The large topper is from Kanban and has been in my stash box for a number of months.  This was given the same distressed look as the papers.  I added some metal corners which had some white acrylic paint dabbed on to give a more aged look.  I also added various other little labels that were in my stash box and also some washi tape across the centre.  Finally, I went over the whole card dabbing some ink splodges.

Thanks for popping by and would love to see you enter the challenge.  Just pop over to the Crafting Musketeers challenge blog to submit your entry.  You will also find lots more inspiration from the talented design team.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

You don't have to use Imagination Crafts products  to enter the challenge but if you do you could win a £40 voucher to spend in their on line store.  So dig out your Imagination Crafts stash and have a go.

Here is my inspiration project using a gorgeous stamp set and Embossable stencil.

The stamp set is a decoupage rose stamp set and can be found here.  I stamped the image onto white card and coloured using my promarkers.  I then mounted it onto black card and added some glitter to the flower and some stickles round the edge of the whole image square.  The sentiment is also from the rose stamp set.  For the background I used an Embossable stencil also available from Imagination Crafts.  I ran it through my machine using coredinations card and then sanded back to reveal the core.  Little tiny pearls were added to the centre of each daisy.  I also used my new Tim Holtz ruler to prick a border around the edge.  For embellishments I added some ribbon and a bow, some flowers and a gorgeous fabric butterfly.

Thanks for popping by and you have until the end of the month to enter the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Anyone for cake

Hi Folks
I am a bit late posting tonight but time has just ran away from me today.  Spent a bit of time today trying to sort out all my stamps and various other items in my crafty room.  It is the first chance I have had since christmas to have a good sort out.  I also managed to get a couple of cards made using up some old stash.  I am determined to make at least 2 or 3 cards a week using old stash

Tonight's offering has been made using the Lucy Cromwell Papercraft Collection from Papermania.  Think I have had it in my stash for about 18 months.

The cakestand is a decoupage image from the collection and has been matted onto silver mirror card.  The backing paper is also from the collection.  For embellishments I added some cream and pink gingham ribbon down the side.  I did a double bow using the gingham ribbon and added some roses.  A few gems, a sentiment and a little butterfly finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Rock and Roll

Hi Folks
Well the weekend has come around again.  I must say that I love my weekends, especially since I went part time at work and have Mondays off.  I am enjoying the extra time at home and managing to get lots of little jobs done that would have been left otherwise.  Of course, I can manage to put in a bit of extra crafty time too.

I was going through my pictures tonight and came across this card that I did for a friend's birthday in August.  He is music mad and this card fitted the bill perfectly.

The guitar image is a stencil that I have had for a few months.  I think I got it from Ally Pally last year.  I used some silver glitter paste that I purchased at the same time.  The topper was in my stash and I have had this for about two years.  Not sure where the background music paper came from.  I used the stencil and distress ink to add some musical notes.  The wording was done using some letter die cuts that I have.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.    Thank you to all my lovely followers who leave such lovely comments.  I do appreciate you all and feel honoured that you like my work enough to follow me.
Anyway, I am in the process of putting some candy together as I will be celebrating a special birthday at the end of February (don't tell anyone but I will be 50!!).  So keep your eyes peeled for the candy announcement.

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and hope that you are all keeping safe during the severe weather that some of you are experiencing (both here in the UK and abroad).  My thoughts are with all those affected.

Anyway, today sees the start of our first challenge for 2014 over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is a nice easy one for you:
Anything Goes

We have two great sponsors joining us this week
QKR Stampede - prize of 5 digi images of the winners choice
StampArt Design - prize of 5 digi images of the winners choice

Here is my inspiration post using a cute image from StampArt Design.

I used this adorable image called Elphie the Elephant which is available here.  I coloured the image with promarkers and cut out using one of my scalloped circle dies.  A bit of distress ink was added to the edge and this was then mounted onto a doily.  The background papers are from a Bella Wild Rose Studio paper pack which I have had since last summer.  All of the matting was done onto pink cardstock.  For embellishments I used some ribbon, buttons, a little flower and a dazzler on the bow.  I found the flower lurking at the bottom of my flower stash, it must have been there for a good 12 months.  It was just perfect for this card and so nice to use up some old goodies.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  Just pop over to Penny's to enter and don't forget to check out the gorgeous work from the design team.

We Are Sailing

Hi Folks
A bit of a late posting but I have had a busy couple of days.  My eldest daughter moved out yesterday and went to live with her boyfriend.  A big step for her but her boyfriend is so good to her and we know she will be happy.  She is only around the corner from us so I will still get to see her regularly.  So today has been spent doing some tidying and clearing up.  And it's back to the dreaded work tomorrow.

I have been working on using up some of my old craft stash and replenishing my stock of cards.  Today's share is a male card using up an old topper that I have had for a couple of years.

I mounted the sail boat topper onto dark blue coredinations and edged it with stickles.  The background paper was in my paper stash box.  It was all alone so not sure where I got it from or even how long I have had it.  The postcard is a stamp from Papermania and a very recent purchase.  Very useful for male cards.  I stamped it onto white card and then used some distress ink to give it an aged look.  The large blue seaboard sticker was in my stash and worked quite well with the image as did the twine and anchor charm.  Although not intentional, I think it has a vintage feel about it with the postcard and seaboard sticker.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

Forever Friends With Love

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  It was my first day back at work today since before Christmas.  It was so hard getting up this morning but at least I only have to get through tomorrow and it will be the weekend lol.

One of my New Year crafty resolutions is to try and use up some old items.  So be prepared to see a range of projects over the next few weeks using up some very old crafty stash.  Today's card has been made using some Forever Friends decoupage that I have had in my stash for about a year.

The backing paper was a loose sheet in my paper stash so not sure where it is from.  I inked the edges and matted onto pink card before adding the decoupage.  I added some lace and ribbon across the bottom together with a triple tied bow.  Some little heart buttons and gems finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Anything Goes at Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks
Happy New Year to you all.  This is a scheduled post as we went to a friend's house last night for a party so was not sure how I would be feeling this morning lol.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Imagination Crafts challenge blog.  Our theme for this month is nice and easy for you all:
Anything Goes
Now you can enter with any project you like but to qualify for the prize draw you need to use at least one Imagination Crafts product on your creation.  Any project is eligible to be picked for the Top 3.

Here is my inspiration project for you.

Imagination Crafts Products Used
Cameo cog stencil
Black Stars sparkle medium
Mica powders

I decided to make a little gift box.  I have several female birthdays coming up so thought this would be ideal for putting a gift into.  I first of all made the box using plain white card and my scoring board.  For the top of the box I used a lovely stencil Cameo Cog and used black stars sparkle medium on white glossy card.  I did not add sparkle medium to the face.  When the sparkle medium was nearly dry I went over it with some mica powders to change the colour of the medium.  For the face I coloured through the stencil with black marker pen and then added glossy accents.  I then coloured the background using some purple tone distress inks.  Some lace was added round the edge of the image before mounting onto the box lid.  For embellishments I added a flower, some feathers and a butterfly.

For the box sides I just wrapped some ribbon round, added a bow with a dazzler and some pearls.

Here is another view showing the depth and sides of the box.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your lovely creations.  Just pop over to Imagination Crafts challenge blog to upload your entry.  Don't forget to check out the super creations from the rest of the design team.
