Dude Time Doodles Blog Hop Sale

Hi Folks
Welcome to another Wednesday, the best day of the working week for me.
As it is the last Wednesday of the month it's time for Dude Time Doodles blog hop with a difference.   The end of October marks the 2 year anniversary for Dude Time Doodles.  By way of a little celebration there is a 50% sale on selected christmas images over at the Dude Time Store.
All of the design team have selected an image that will be available in the sale for this months blog hop.

I have used this super image Duck Snowball Warrior.  Kept it fairly simple as wanted the image to take centre stage.
If you are following the blog hop list then you will have arrived here from Ruth's blog.  Your next stop is Tammy but don't worry if you get a little lost.  A full list is over at the main Dude Time Doodles blog.  Just remember to leave a little love for each of the design team members.  One of us is the mystery host.
Enjoy hopping around and don't forget to check out the sale images in the store.  The sale is on from 31st October to 13th November.

SWALK Birthday

Hi Folks
Back again with my 3rd post for today.
I am going to keep this short and sweet as it is getting late and still have a few things to do before work tomorrow.

I have a couple of birthdays coming up in the next month so thought I had better get them done before the mass christmas card making begins.

I used a sweet little stamp from the SWALK range at Crafters Companion.  For a change I stamped the image onto watercolour card and coloured using my distress inks.  I then added some glamour dust to the bows in her hair and the centre of the flowers.  The papers are from Papermania and all the papers were matted onto kraft card.  I do think kraft and pink goes so well together.  I kept the embellishments quite simple with some ribbon, card candy and some little flowers that I made myself using card candy and pearls.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Crafters Companion - Birthdays
Hotshot Craft - Bling it on
Anything goes - Make your own embellishments
Fussy and Fancy - Anything goes
Cards Galore - Anything goes
Sunday Sketch and Stamp - use sketch

Thanks for popping by and hope to catch up with all your blogs in the next few days.
Take care.

Bring out the Glitter and Bling

Hi Folks
Well, it is certainly turning colder here in the UK.  I have actually had to give in and put the heating on.  We had out cavity wall insulation done earlier in the year and it has certainly made a difference to the temperature in the house.  If it does save us a bit on our heating bill in the winter it will certainly be worth it.

Anyway, another challenge starts over at Dream Valley Challenges today.  A nice easy peasy theme for you all as we are looking for

Glitter and Bling

So hunt out your sparkly, glittery bits and go for it.  The more glitter and bling the better.
Our fab sponsor this time around is Sassy Studio Designs who are generously giving our winner 4 free digi images of your choice.  So what are you waiting for?

I used a fab image from Sassy Studio to create a real pink and girly card.  The image was coloured with promarkers and I did add some glossy accents to the glass.  The fab corners are from creative expressions and I added some white acrylic paint to them.  The large flower is a Tim Holtz die.  After I put it together I sprayed it with Spray and Sparkle.  Added lots of pearls for a real blingy look.
Hop over to Dream Valley to see the awesome work of the rest of the design team.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Natalie and Amy - Birthday Bling
Bunny Zoes - Pink, pearls and lace
Hotshot Craft - Bling it on
The Poodles Parlour - Anything goes
Ladybug Crafts Ink - I need a P (pink, pearls, pins)
Brown Sugar - Anything goes
Stampin for the Weekend - Anything goes

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your fab creations.  You know you wanna enter.

Know When To Fold Em

Hi Folks
Another two weeks has flown by and it's time for another challenge over at Corrosive Challenges.  Our sponsor for the month of October is the fab Sassy Studio Designs who are giving 4 free digital images to our monthly winner.
Our theme for this challenge is:

Know when to fold em

We want to see your finest fold work.  As long as your creation has at least one fold it will qualify for this challenges.

I have used another of my stepper easel cards.  I am now down to one blank left, just have to try and remember where I got them from so I can order some more.

The image and backing papers were out of a Debbi Moore magazine that I bought several months ago.  So glad to be using some of my old stash.  I used gold mirror card for the matting.  I used a spellbinders die that I bought last week at the Sincerely Yours paper crafts show.  Added some glamour dust for extra sparkle.  I die cut the sentiment banner out of gold card using another spellbinders die that I received in some candy from the lovely Mina.  Added some die cut flourishes and some pearls to finish it off.

For more inspiration just pop over to Corrosive Challenges and see what lovely projects the design team has come up with.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Hotshot Crafts - Bling it on
Fussy and Fancy - Anything goes
Cards Galore - Anything goes
Creative Card Crew - Fancy folds
Charisma Cardz - Don't be square
Brown Sugar - Anything goes

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations for the challenge.

Black and White Birthday

Evening Folks
Hope you are all well.  Been a funny sort of week this week.  Been busy at work again and after dinner in the evening have not had much time (if any) left for crafting.
Tomorrow is going to be a long day at work as I am on a training course all day.  With the travelling to the course I will be leaving home at 7.00am and not getting home until after 6.00pm.  This is a long day for me so not looking forward to it.
So with that in mind I decided that I was going to have a play in my crafty room tonight.  Last Sunday I went to a Sincerely Yours Paper Craft show and bought some new goodies.  One of the things I bought was some gilding flakes which I really wanted to have a play with.

The gilding flakes were in a set from Indigo Blu and came with the glue for using with stamps.  I used a stamp set that I have had for ages.  I followed the instructions, applied the glue to the stamp and stamped the image onto black card. I then applied the gilding flakes, rubbed off the excess and this is the result.  I was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out. So sparkly.  I created another mat with gilding flakes for the image to sit on.
I used several punches on this card.  Since I have been using die cuts my punches have been neglected so time to put that right.  The black card at the side, the corners of the image and all the little flowers were done using a punch.  I added some ribbon, lace and pearls to complete the look.
This card is for my daughters to give their Nan for her birthday in November.  It also fits in nicely with the October challenge at Sir Stampalot which is to use punches.

I am now off to try and catch up with some commenting.  Thanks for popping by and for all the lovely comments you leave.  I apologise if I don't get to visit you all very often.  Time always runs away from me in the evenings.  But I do appreciate each and every one of you and thank you for taking the time out to pop by.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Sir Stampalot - Punch away
Natalie and Amy - Birthday bling
A Gem of a Challenge - Flowers
Hotshot Craft - Bling it on
Fashionista - Anything goes
Totally Gorguss - Bling it on

Buttons and Ribbons at Penny's

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  What yucky horrid weather we have had the last couple of days.  I can't say that it has been cold but it has been really grey and miserable.  The forecast is for it to turn quite cold in the next few days.  That is something to look forward to, not.

Anyway as it's Wednesday it's time for a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme this week is a nice easy one for you all.

Buttons and/or Ribbon

Just upload all your fab creations that contain either buttons, ribbon or both.

We have two fab sponsors for this week's challenge:
Di's Digi Downloads - $10 gift certificate
Dustin Pike - $10 gift certificate

I used a fab image from Dustin Pike for my inspirational project this week.

This image is so cute and was a joy to colour.  I used my promarkers and added some distress ink to the edges and a bit of faux stitching.  The papers were all from my scraps box and were matted using green coredinations cardstock.  I added some ribbon across the centre and some buttons to the corners.  A cute little card for a boy.  I will add a sentiment later when I have someone to give it to.

Thanks for stopping by and looking forward to seeing all your fab entries for the challenge.  The design team have come up with some gorgeous projects so why not pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges and check them out.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Just for Fun at Dude Time Doodles

Hi Folks
No challenge over at Dude Time Doodles this week but that doesn't mean I don't have something to share.  The dudettes and dude have been joined by some of our previous designers and guest designers to showcase a couple of fab images from the store.  Why not pop over to Dude Time Doodles and take a look.

I have used this fab image called The Great Pumpkin.

The image was coloured in promarkers.  Not sure what is going on with the photo but the colours are much brighter and better in real life.  The pumpkin looks like he has something seriously wrong with him lol.
The sentiment is also from Dude Time Doodles.  Some netting, a cut out bat and spider and a bit of ribbon completed the card.  Simples.
Next week we will be back with our October blog hop so don't forget to tune in next Wednesday.

Double Trouble

Evening Folks
Hope you are well and have had a good weekend.
Had a nice day out today with my Mum.  We went to the Sincerely Yours paper craft show at Lincoln.  I have never been before so was not sure what to expect.  Obviously, it is a lot smaller than the likes of Ally Pally or the NEC but enjoyable none the less.  Lots of lovely goodies to look at.  I did get some new stash including some memory box dies that I just fell in love with, more card candy, stamps and card blanks.  I also came away with 14, yes 14, reels of double sided tape.  It was such a bargain and I use so much of it lol.

Anyway, I am now nursing some sore feet so thought I would post these two cards for you.  This is another request from my sister - this time for her boys to give to their twin cousins for their birthday.

The stamp is from Lily of the Valley and is just perfect for all those young men out there who love gaming.  The images were coloured in promarkers and matted onto kraft card.  A bit of distress ink and some faux stitching added to the edges.  The papers were from Wild Rose Studio and Echo Park.  The sentiments were stamped and heat embossed and given the same treatment on the edges as the image.  I added some ribbon, card candy and buttons to finish the card.  Simple embellishments but boys don't want anything too fussy.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Forever Friends - Bingo (ribbon, buttons, blue)
Crafty Ribbons - Childrens birthday
I Love Promarkers - Anything goes
Lilis Little Fairies - Anything goes
Fussy and Fancy - Anything goes

Thanks for popping by and for all the lovely comments you leave.  I do read every one.
Take care.

Pink and Girly Birthday

Hi Folks
Well, I managed to make it till Friday unscathed at work.  Now for a well earned weekend.  Got my Mum coming over tomorrow for the weekend as we are going to Lincoln on Sunday for their Sincerely Yours Papercrafting show.  I have never been to one before but any papercrafting show can't be bad.  A good chance to increase my stocks ready for Christmas.

Anyway, I am managing to post a card quite early today.  Miracles do happen lol.

I used a fab little image from Pink Gem designs called Butterfly Chloe for my card.  She is so sweet with her little doggy.  The papers are a combination of First Edition and Wild Rose Studio.  I made some bunting and added the handwritten letters on it to spell the word Love.  The sentiment was also from Pink Gem.  Lots of flowers (including a couple of my own torn rolled roses), lace, ribbon, pearls and gems.  The flowers were sprayed with Glimmer Mist and a bit of glamour dust added for sparkle.  Although you can't see it very well I did glitter all the little butterflies on the image.  The finishing touch was a couple of little mesh butterflies.
The colours don't look as vibrant in this photo.  It is really pink and bright.  But I suppose it has been a bit dull and grey the last few days.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Sunday Sketch and Stamp - use sketch
Tuesday Morning Sketches - Pink and birthday for virtual birthday party
Natalie and Amy - Birthday bling
Bunny Zoes - Pink, pearls and lace
Top Tip Tuesday - Things with wings
Crafty Ribbons - Childrens birthday

Fussy and Fancy - Anything goes
The Poodles Parlour - Anything goes

Thanks for popping by.  Hope you all enjoy your weekend, whatever you are up to.
Take care.

Hi Folks
This is my second post for today.
Our new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges is a nice easy one for you:

Girls, Girls, Girls

Upload your projects that are all girly - glitter, bling, lace, ribbon etc and contain at least one image of a girl/woman.  You get the idea.
Our sponsors for this challenge are:
Saturated Canary - 2 digi images of the winners choice
Kenny K - 5 digi images of the winners choice
Crafty Sentiments - 3 digi images of the winners choice

I used a fab image from Saturated Canary and created this girly christmas card.

The image was coloured with promarkers and I added some glamour dust to her wings and the bottom of her dress.  The papers are from Papermania.  The snowflakes were done with glitter paper using a punch.  The fab corners are a die from Cheery Lynn and were also cut out of glitter paper.  I stamped the sentiment and mounted it onto glitter paper.  A few gems , some ribbon and a bow finished the card.

Do hope you will join in with the challenge.  If you want more inspiration just pop over to Penny's and check out the design team creations.  Stunners.

It's Halloween Time at Dude Time Doodles

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well on this fab Wednesday.  Love Wednesdays as it marks the half way point of my working week.  Only two more days to the weekend.  Wednesday also sees the start of a new challenge over at Dude Time Doodles.
Our theme for this week is:

Halloween

The winner of this weeks challenge will win a prize from our sponsor Patties Creations.

There are some fabulous images at the Dude Time Doodles store and I used Pumpkin Head Hal for my project.

I decided to make a twisted easel card.  It is ages since I made one of these but do like them.  The image was coloured in promarkers and I distressed inked the edges using my distress inks.  The large pumpkin image on the base and both sentiments are also from Dude Time Doodles.  I won the netting fabric in some candy from Sassy and thought it looked a bit cobwebby.  The tiny pumpkins and spiders were some stickers from Tesco.

Simply Christmas

Hi Folks
Sorry I'm a bit late posting this but time always seems to slip away from me in the evenings.  By the time I have got home from work, had tea and cleared up it is nearly time for bed lol.
Hope you are all well.  I had quite a productive weekend on the crafting front with several DT cards made.  I did have a little break on Sunday afternoon when we went to see my daughters future in-laws new puppies.  A couple of weeks ago they added two new bundles of joy to their household.  They are Spanish Water dogs and are the cutest little puppies.  When they get older their coat looks a bit like dreadlocks, all spirally and curly.  Next time I see them I will have to get a photo to show you.

Anyway, I need to really get some christmas cards made as time is running away from me.  Once a month I go to a cardmaking workshop at my local craft store.  At the last workshop we played around with using christmas verse inserts on the front of your card.

Here is what I have come up with using that idea.

I tried to keep them all fairly simple using just black, white and one other colour.  The verses are just a pack of christmas inserts that I bought.  I used my spellbinders snowflake dies and spellbinders poinsettia dies.  Lots of glitter card for christmas sparkle and various gems.
I really like the way these turned out.  Simple but effective.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Little Miss Muffet - Simplicity
Crafts and Me - Anything goes
Divas By Design - Anything goes
Creative Inspirations - Anything goes
Whimsy Inspires - All things sparkly
Simon Says - Dies and/or  punches

Thanks for popping by and look forward to reading all your comments.

It's Halloween Time at Dream Valley

Hi Folks
Back for my second post of the day.
Another two weeks has passed (where does the time go) and it's time for a new challenge over at Dream Valley Challenges.
We have a great sponsor for this challenge:
Bugaboo Stamps - $21 to spend in the on line store
How fab is that?  Just upload a project following our theme to be entered into the draw.

Our theme for this challenge is:

Halloween

You can create anything you like, ATC, scrapbook page, card, altered item.  Let your creativity run wild.

Here is a card I created.

I used this fab pre coloured image from Fred She Said.  These pre coloured images are fab when you need a quick card.  Again all the papers and bits and bobs are from my stash.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Craftymess - Anything goes
The Poodles Parlour - Halloween
Hooked on Craft - Halloween
Crafty Sentiments - Anything goes
Crafts and Me - Anything goes
Simply Create Too - Pumpkins
Allsorts - Too cute to spook
Creative Inspirations - Anything goes
Paperplay - Simply cute
Disdigidesigns - Too cute to spook

Look forward to seeing all your creations and please pop over to Dream Valley challenges to see the awesome work of the design team.  You can also meet the new members of the team.

Thanks for popping by.

Treacherous Treats

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.
We have a new challenge starting today over at Corrosive Challenges.
Our sponsor for the month of October is Sassy Studio who is generously offering our winner 4 free digis of their choice.
Our theme for this challenge is:

Treacherous Treats

Just create and upload a sweet/candy holder.  Any type of container will qualify - bag, box, cone, pouch, test tube - basically anything that can contain all those eerie edibles.

Now this challenge came hard to me because Halloween is not really an event that our family and friends celebrate.  Of course, I do have some treats in for if we do get any little trick or treat visitors but we do not send cards or decorate the house.
That being said I made a little gift bag.

I used a pre coloured image from Fred She Said and teamed this up with purples and orange.  All of the items used were from my stash box that I have had lying around for absolutely ages.  I am trying to use old papers and scraps wherever possible at the moment.

For more inspiration pop over to Corrosive Challenges and check out what the rest of the design team has come up with.  Very creative.  I look forward to seeing all your creations.

Thanks for popping by.

Happy Birthday Twins

Evening Folks
Well after the excitement of announcing my blog candy winners (see post below) I thought I would show you what I have just been working on.
My sister asked me if I could do a couple of birthday cards for her twin nephews.  The only requirement was that one of them had to be in blue.  I decided to make two cards exactly the same in design and layout but different colours.  Here is what I came up with.

I used a stamp set that I have had for absolutely ages but find so useful for boy cards.  I think it was from Stamp-It and it contains the little shirt, the two sentiments and the little stars that are on this card.  I stamped the shirt onto white card and then paperpieced using some patterned paper.  The two sentiments were stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The plain cardstock is coredinations.  All of the papers are from Papermania.  The addition of some ribbon and little peel off circles completed the look.

Here are the two cards together:

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Totally Gorjuss - Anything goes
Catch the Bug - Anything goes
Craftymess - Anything goes
Here Come The Boys - Monochrome
Ribbon Girl - Boy card
Sentimental Sundays - Anything goes
Crafty Sentiments - Anything goes

Crafts & Me - Anything goes
Stamp N Doodle - Wet Embossing
Cute Card Thursday - Paper piecing

Crafty Ribbons - Childrens Birthday

Thanks for popping by and congrats to the candy winners.

No cards allowed at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Welcome back.  This is my second post for today.
A new challenge starts over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges today and our theme for this week is

Anything But A Card

So bring out those scrapbook pages, ATC, tags, altered items.  Let your creativity run wild.
We have three fab sponsors for this week:
Limited Runs - 3 digi images of the winners choice
Stamping Dragon Designs - 5 digi images of the winners choice
Sassy Studio Designs - 4 digi images of the winners choice

For my inspirational project I have used an image from Limited runs called Holly Cupcake.

I printed out two copies of the image - one a mirror image of the other.  The two images were then coloured with promarkers.  For the topping of the cupcake and the holly I used lots of glitter, glamour dust and stickles.  The two images were then glued together and a loop of ribbon attached to the top.
The finished result is a decoration to hang on my christmas tree.

For more inspiration and to meet some of our new DT members pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

The freebie image for this challenge is Tyler Tailback.

A rather dashing figure I think you will agree.  I kept my card fairly simple mounting the image onto some embossed card and then matting onto kraft card and some stripey paper from my stash.  I used some ribbon down the left hand side of the card and a peel off Happy Birthday.  The image was coloured with my trusty Promarkers.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Another late posting

Hi Folks
This is another extremely late posting due to my internet issues.
On Wednesday a new challenge started over at Penny's Paper-Crafty challenges.  Our theme for this week is DIE CUTS AND PUNCHES.  We have two fab sponsors: Scrappers Delights who are giving one winner 3 free images of their choice and Fred She Said who are giving one winner a $15 gift certificate.

I used a delightful image from Fred She Said for my card.  The image is coloured in promarkers and I added lots of glamour dust for sparkle.  I also added some flower soft to the bottom of the image to make it appear that she is standing in snow.  The papers are all from Papermania.  I used a die cut  to cut out a ribbon border for the bottom and threaded red ribbon through it.  The snowflakes were a combination of die cuts and punches.
You still have a couple of days to enter the challenge.  Just upload any project as long as it fits with the challenge theme.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
J & C Creations - Cute christmas
Papertake - Anything goes
Simon Says - Glimmer and Sparkle
Divas By Design - Use some texture

Thanks for popping by.

Home Improvement

Hi Folks
Well, I am finally back from my enforced absence due to internet issues.  I felt so lost without it all week and I am now trying to play catch up.
Therefore I am extremely late posting the new challenge over at Dude Time Doodles which started on Wednesday.  I am sure my teamies will forgive me though.
The challenge theme is HOME IMPROVEMENT and the winner will receive 3 free images from the Dude Time Doodles store.

I used a super image Ernie Carpenter for my project.

I think that this card will probably end up going to my hubby for his birthday in December.  I can clearly recall that as little girls our daughters favourite saying (when anything broke or went wrong) was Dad will fix it.  He is a bit of a DIYer and will have a go at fixing anything.  I do put my foot down though at electrics or water problems.  Don't really want to be flooded out or the house burned down lol.
You still have a couple of days to enter the challenge so get creating.  You can upload any project as long as it is aimed for a male and fits the challenge theme.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Passion for Promarkers - For a man/youth
Papertake - Anything goes
Crafty Sentiments - Happy Birthday
Digital Tuesday - Text me
Inky Impressions - Lets hear it for the boys
Crafts and Me - My sentiments exactly
Catch the Bug - Anything goes
Craftymess - Anything goes
DCC & Friends - Character crazy
Sentimental Sundays - Anything goes

Thanks for popping by.

Internet Issues

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  Just wanted to let you all know that I am currently experiencing internet issues at the moment.  Well, to be more precise I have no internet.  My internet provider is currently looking into it but no telling how long it is going to be before it is up and running.
I will certainly have a lot of catching up to do when I do get back online.

PS  Don't forget to enter my candy.  I believe over fifty of you have now entered.  So I think a surprise package or two may be offered for 2nd and 3rd.

Bye for now and hope to be back with you all soon
