Forever Friends Christmas

Hi Everyone
Before I get onto my card for today I would like to share some exciting news with you.  My crafting journey continues as I have been lucky enough to be chosen to be on the design team for Dream Valley Challenges.  Thanks to Melly and the team.  Looking forward to the journey together.

Now for my card for today.
Yet another christmas card.  I am slowly working my way through my list.
I have followed the sketch over at Sketch and Stash.  The image is obviously Forever Friends and these were a new addition to my christmas stock this year.  I die cut a circle to mount the image on and embossed this with little dots.  The white card at the side was also embossed using a snowflake embossing folder.  I die cut some snowflakes for the top right hand corner of the card.  I added some white ribbon which I recently bought.  A few snowflakes from my stash and a sentiment completed the card.
I am quite pleased with the way it turned out and it was quite quick to do.
Heres another picture
Must admit not very easy taking photos at the moment.  Just seems dull and grey outside most of the time which doesn't make for good photo taking conditions.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Sketch and Stash - challenge 75
Forever Friends - white and sparkles

Thanks for looking and please feel free to comment.  I love reading them.

Santa

Saturday already, don't where the time is flying too at the moment.  Not enough hours in the day.
Trying to get some decorating done before Christmas too.  I am now asking myself why!!
Anyway I had planned to do lots of crafting today but best laid plans etc.  Did strike a couple of my list but not enough.
Here is my offering to blogland for today
This is a lovely Molly Blooms stamp that shows an exhausted Santa on Boxing Day.  I really enjoyed colouring him in.  Of course, he would not be complete without some glitter.  I edged the image panel with some distress ink just to try and make it a bit softer, hope I have succeeded.
The background paper (from Papermania) has been matted onto red cardstock.  I then added three green glitter squares matted onto red cardstock on the right hand side of the card.  The sentiment was in my stash box (not sure where I got it from or when).  A bit of ribbon, some decorative pins and gems completed the card.
Here is a closer picture
Think this Santa may be making an appearance is some more of my cards.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - 129, use sketch

Red and Green Christmas...

Evening Everyone
I am at the stage of needing some fairly quick christmas cards as still got so many to do.
Today's card is using traditional (or what I term traditional) christmas colours - red and green with the addition of silver.
This image is a stamp from Wild Rose Studio and I just love it.  Have coloured this in using my promarkers and then used lots of glamour dust on her coat and hat - well, it seemed rude not to.
The background was done by matting lots of little squares in red and green onto silver glitter card. The papers were from Papermania.  I edged all of the little squares with some faux stitching using a fine liner pen.  Also did some faux stitching on the image.
A closer picture of the image.
The sentiment was stamped onto white card and I used a cocktail stick to try and make it look a little like a sign.  Finally, added a glitter flourish and some silver card candy.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Sketch Saturday - use sketch provided
Dream Valley Challenges - 20 use some stitching
I love promarkers - 93 anything goes
Crafty Pad - 148 festive red and green and silver or gold

Thanks for looking and look forward to reading any comments.

Black and White

Evening Folks
Bit late posting this evening but went to the cinema to see Breaking Dawn. Just love it and can't wait for the final film.
Anyway here is a card I have done. My sister has put in a request for some christmas cards and this is the first one I have done for her.
As you can see I have gone for a black and white theme.  The center image was created using a set of tapestry stamps that I have.  Just done in black ink and embossed, then some glamour dust added for extra sparkle.  Then used several layers of black and white card (some of the layers I embossed).
Added some mock stitching round the outside, some die cut and punched snowflakes out of glitter paper, a sentiment, some pearls and glamour dust.
Here is a closer view of the center and the sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Totally Papercrafts #93 - Black and White
Bunny Zoe's - anything chrismassy with pearls
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - challenge 128 use sketch
Divas By Design - Challenge 15 monochromatic
Lothian Crafts Online - Challenge 20 christmas
Crimbo Crackers - Challenge 2 make it sparkle

Thanks for looking and any comments appreciated.

Crackers...

Hi All
Don't know about you but I always feel a bit let down by christmas crackers.  They can cost a fortune and the gifts inside are not worth bothering with.
I went to a dabble day organised by my local craft shop a few weeks ago and was shown how to make a christmas cracker out of parchment.
This is my first effort:
Decided to keep this quite simple.  Made the cracker and used glitter strips, glitter peel offs and gems to embellish.  To keep it a bit more sturdy I made an inner using brown kraft card.  This has worked quite well and no danger of it sagging!!
I plan on personalising them all and putting a gift inside appropriate to that person.  Hopefully, they will like them enough to keep them as a christmas keepsake.
Will probably make the ones for ladies a bit more elaborate with some flowers but depends what time I get.
Hope you like them and thanks for looking.
Please feel free to leave me a comment as I love reading them.

A bit of elegance

Hi All
I was asked by my sister to make a birthday card that she could give to her husband's Gran.  I decided to go for a bit of elegance.
I followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday as the starting point.  The stamp is by Kanban (The Cavendish Ladies).  I wanted quite a soft look so used chalks and highlighted the fur parts with Glamour Dust.  The papers are from a paper pack that I had (think it was Papermania).  Added some lace and ribbon across the center of the card.  The embellishments are a bow, flower, pearl stamens and a lovely feather.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Sketch Saturday Challenge #181 - Use sketch
One Stop Craft Challenge week #157 - ribbons and lace
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #160 - spots and stripes

Thanks for looking and I love reading all your comments.

Green and Blue Combo...

Hi Everyone,
Spotted the challenge at Sir Stampalot and decided to have a go as it was using a colour combo that I would not normally have thought of putting together - green and blue.
Here is my creation:
Apologies for the quality of the photo but these dark nights are not a great help.
Anyway, I based the layout of my card on the challenge over at Creative Inspirations.  I used dark blue coredinations card and various green tones of paper from my stash.  Of course, I had to do a bit of distressing to the blue card because I just can't resist.  The centre panel has been done using Docrafts Papermania Urban stamps.  I used green chalk ink to lightly stamp the grasses at the bottom.  Also inked round the panel with distress ink to soften the edges a bit.  The butterfly was stamped with versamark on blue cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The flowers were from WOC and my stash.  Finally added a couple of brads and some gems and liquid pearls to the butterfly.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Sir Stampalot - Blue and Green
Creative Inspirations Challenge 138 - use sketch provided
Die Cut Dreams Challenge 102 - recipe, 2 brads, 3 gems, 4 flowers.

Added 17.11.11
I tried to take a better photo when I got home from work tonight but the light was still fading fast.  What do you think?
Still not sure it is that much better.  If anyone has any tips on how to take a good photo of a card then please let me know. I just never seem to get it right.

Thanks  for looking and please feel free to comment.  I look forward to reading them.

Back from holidays

Hi All
Well, my holiday is now well and truly over.  Got back at the weekend but taken till now to get time to post anything.
What can I say, the cruise was superb.  Went with P&O and they were fantastic.  We could not fault them at all.  The ship was fab, the food was fab, service was fab.  The only thing that let us down a bit was the weather but that is in the hands of the gods.
Here is a picture of our ship 'Azura'.  Quite large as you can see.
Good job I took some loose clothing with me to travel back home in.  The food on board was excellent and there was plenty of it lol.

Now comes the task of dealing with Christmas - from buying presents to making the cards.  Feel like I have tons to do and not enough time to do it in.
Hopefully will get to start some crafting tomorrow.
Bye for now
